  1. I perfectly agree. It has always bothered me the lights have such a low visibility. It should definitely be improved for a better and more realistic navigation. From what I remember tweaking the particle effects in other rendering engines it may be related to the maximum "flare particle effect" rendering distance. Well, whatever is the issue or design decision I hope it could be improved someday. ;)
  2. Hi there, I'm also using a G930 headset w/ an IR emitter (for 2/3 years) and if the wireless feature is definitely comfortable (free from the PC and annoying spaghettis), I wouldn't recommend it. Like many users I experience regular micro-cuts (sometimes a few per hour) even with the USB dongle in close proximity. And I'm not in a busy high-frequency environment. From what I've read, heard and experienced it's one of its (annoying) flaws. Also, you will not be able to use your soundcard quality as it's connected to its own USB 7.1 soundcard (max quality: 48kHz 16bit). IMO, the sound quality is good enough for games and entertainment though. The virtual surround sound is a great feature and I experienced a delightful sound environment with Elite: Dangerous (great sound design and sound engine). Not so much with DCS unfortunately (perhaps it's more specific to the soundscape and effects used). The ear pads will wear off and you'll have to change them after a year or two. [random exemple] Comfortable replacement ear pads are easy to find, so it's not a real problem. The earband plastic connection piece tends to crack and brake after some time, even if you're careful. (only one side started to crack recently on mine) The micro-USB plug can endure some severe stress and finally start to get loose after some time. Some of the great features are the volume wheel, the programmable buttons and the wireless range. The "retractable" mic boom is also great and the sound quality is decent if not crystal-clear. If the G933 fixes most of the original flaws, I might buy a new one for DCS and such but I'm also about to buy a pair of (wired) monitoring stereo headphones (w/ a soundcard) (probably Sennheiser, AKG or Beyerdynamic). I hope this helps ;)
  3. Excellent! I loved it. War everywhere hammered with the music… but hey, wait, "diamond formation". It's not all about war! Very nice final shot (and the discreet moving truck gives an even more realistic touch). Also, +10 for Russian goodness great depiction ;-) ED's new smoke effect looks really good btw. Congratz!
  4. Same visuals here, but my guess is it's the current rendering method and not a bug. I have no idea if the projected light cone resolution is externalized in .lua or hardcoded. I see it like the cockpit dynamic shadow resolution: a bit jaggy but a decent compromise for the overall rendering performance.
  5. Similar lighting issue here. Custom mission (attached) [ system.nfo ] OB test flight #1 Batumi_full moon.miz
  6. Sorry for the double thread. Internet sync issue on my side. Please delete one of the threads. Thanks.
  7. I couldn't find this issue reported in the forum. The Ka-50 static object is missing a top rotor blade. No problem with the player controlled or AI Ka-50 (rotor stopped or started). [ system.nfo ] OB test static Ka50.miz
  8. Excellent news! Thanks for your work!
  9. About time I notice that thread! Great idea! There are many beautiful screenshots already. Congratz everyone! (and good luck to SiThSpAwN, Groove and Igor choosing the winners) I struggled with the Ctrl+F11 cam (no more pause mode camera movement?). Here's some Black Shark flavor (the very first DCS module iirc): (Did I choose right?) ;)
  10. Trying to choose a screenshot for the contest is a hard task. What a beautiful sim!
  11. Same here! I really like the mood, tones and everything ;) Here's the guy: Kanstantsin Kuzniatsou (aka btd) @ SoundCloud поздравления!
  13. A very nice addition! 1. access the dropdown list in the controls option 2. click "Search..." 3. type what you're searching for 4. magic occurs!
  14. Nice. Thanks for the details doveman! Is it also possible to trigger a random sound from selected files (.wav and such)? It's not as easy as it could be in VA (v1.5.7).
  15. Great data! Thanks DarkFire! I'm pretty sure this will also help the mission builders. I'll check that more thoroughly as soon as I'm back from my L-39 tour.
  16. Just buy from ED's e-shop it will make everyone happier ;) Easier calculation, $10 bonus, more ED power! (that's what I've done, despite being a Steam user and the current discount)
  17. Exactly ^^ Our toys now look like toys! . . . (and where's the giant cat mod?)
  18. Hey! You know what? The L-39C is on Steam now! 20% discount! Yes! I don't care! I just bought the module in ED's e-shop with no discount and more bucks for the amazing team! I was eagerly waiting for its release as I'm a russian aircraft amateur and enthusiast. The Albatros is just the perfect trainer for me and so far I only flew the simple T-O instant action mission and it's wonderfully crafted!!! (I managed to break the landing gear on the first landing drill but nothing went wrong next ;)) Go buy it! Now! (and on ED's shop) ;) Wait… well, ok, if you're here you're probably a lucky owner already. I love the details. The polished cockpit model and textures, the sounds (the engine, the rolling sound on the runway), even the cockpit flood light has a very nice rendering, the model lightning and precision, etc. Excellent job from ED! Thank you guys for such a great aircraft! I remember Wags told us in a YT video the Albatros is not as powerful/responsive as the fighters and it was a surprise at first (I thought it was more agile), but it's a delight to fly. Many lovely hours to come ;) Congratz to you all proud owners and to you there who will buy it soon! Have the best time learning how to master that aircraft! Kudos, Eagle Dynamics!
  19. Good to know it's fixed ;) Happy flying!
  20. FIXED! Ok. Thanks to your top-notch Sukhoi engineering skills (+rep ;)) I managed to fix the issue. That was a weird behavior nonetheless. I checked the thrust control bindings and I was using two virtual joysticks (w/ VJoy) for another joystick (not connected) - those two virtual joy were bound to the (single) thrust command (my X55 is bound to the separate L/R thrust axis). I cleaned that up. The thrust was normal during a first test mission, then I went back to the controls menu to clean up the whole virtual joysticks bindings as well as the Razer Orbweaver (programmable keypad) I use (for good measure). Back to another test mission: same issue. Absolutely no other thrust axis bound at this time. And even if the in-cockpit throttle position and instruments were correct (full AB), the thrust was wrong for both the player-controlled aircraft and the AI aircraft (both loosing speed). I finally uninstalled VJoy, Joystick Curves (a response curves software I was using with my Logitech Extreme3D pro, for Elite Dangerous a while ago), and it removed the two virtual joysticks in my system and DCS World. No issue since. I triple checked the AI aircraft and the player controlled Su-33 with custom missions. I have no idea why it was only messing with the Su-33 but it seems VJoy was the issue (and why the AI couldn't accelerate despite the full AB). (all the other aircraft I tested with the 1.5b AND the two virtual joysticks default config were fine: P-51D/TF-51D, Su-25A, Su-25T, Su-27, A-10C, MiG-15Bis, MiG-21Bis, MiG-29, F-15C, F-86F and the helos) I hope this thread will help with similar issues. :joystick: Happy flying everyone! [EDIT: I also removed the Orbweaver from the devices list (Human Interface Devices) (Windows 10) to ensure it won't appear in DCS anymore.]
  21. Are sure your throttle is in the idle position ? (otherwise the engines won't start) (No issues with the modifiers here)
  22. The FC3 training missions still use the old file structure and is not compatible with 1.5beta. You can access the downloaded .ogv videos in : \DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Training Unlike the F-15C standalone module, the Su-27 has its own dedicated training missions. No idea about the A-10A and the Su-25. The FC training videos are not aging gracefully anyway ;)
  23. Interesting test flight. Thanks for sharing DarkFire  It's somewhat difficult to gather solid ingame fuel consumption data to reach an optimized flight profile and range management. A while ago, I tried to find a decent profile close to the Su-27SK manual while using a stable autopilot. >>> cruising speed + altitude test <<< The autopilot is definitely a comfort factor and based on your test, I'm tempted to take the time to test different profiles. The recent 1.5 changes to the engines RPM now based on the atmospheric conditions may have a slight effect on the efficiency and fuel consumption. It should be interesting to run more tests.
  24. My 1.5 beta is untouched so that's weird indeed. I'll try a repair pass and report back if it fixes that issue. Thanks for the info!
  25. Also, the RTB repeating messages have been reported (over and over ;)). The issue probably occurs in any 1.5 mission (?) (not campaign-specific). Thanks for the tip kevinsue, I'll try that fix too.
