Meh. I'd rather see an electronic warfare or SEAD plane like Intruder and Prowler :P (and those would rather be long term, other CAS and fighter planes are more interesting)
-
He was just saying that many developers do that lately. Not pointing at RAZBAM. Look at EA and their Battlefield 4 or Ubisoft and their Assasin's Creed Unity.
-
That would be great to see it. :3 No rush though. If you have time ;) (we should realy make a thread that would store all the documents found on the internet...)
-
I mean they probably want to get it out as quick as possible. Look at it from the buisness standpoint. The longer you make a product, the more you spend on its creation and the more time you are not earning any money from it because you can't sell it.
-
It is not a cheat when everybody can have it, depending on the server settings. I would consider it cheat if everyone was flying with "normal" setting while somebody would enable "enlarged" only for himself.

@ManOWar Hmmmm. Thats wierd. I mean, it's a bit dishonest on their part. I mean, I am ok if it can fly and is now under maintnance, but plane that can't realy fly and is listed as air worthy (theoretically) thats a bit dishonest (just my opinion). Thx for that educational info. I've seen only the 109's elevator and aileron curves, haven't seen the one for rudder. I was realy trying to find it on internet for a week and finaly gave up. :(

I mean, DCS would get a lot more attention if there was an actual conflict of East vs West or something along those lines. F-16 and PhantomII would create enemies for existing airplanes. (MiG29 and MiG21 respectively) Even if it is Vigen, it would be a great addition, but it won't be as popular as for example F16C. It's the same with WW2. Everybody knows "the Mustang" or "Messershmit" or "Spitfire" or "Zero", but how many casual people know the LaGG3 or P-40 or Ki61. To be fair though, casual people are not interestend in simulation and most would not even look at those planes even if they knew them. I am sure its gonna be interesting at least :3

Mate, do you think we have a single Bf109K4 around? No. We don't, and yet we have Bf109K4 in the game. And thats why I agree with Sithspawn. I was just saying that it is easier to access their database about the 109's internal components. If it is airworthy it has everything in place and can be used as a model for the module creation. (unlike K4 that I haven't seen a single one even in a museum) No matter what, the 109G will fly like a 109G (I am talking about control surface forces), just that there is a good oportunity to get the 109's specs out of existing plane. And you can make flight trials with Bf109G10 that is in flying condition. For example they can measure the rudder stiffness at different speeds because thats the only thing that is lacking in the WW2 data it seems. And that can be done with other proven aircraft like the G4 from Germany and G2 from England. Just talk to the pilots and ground crew, done. And actually no, airworthieness means it can fly. If it's not airworthy it can't fly and those are listed seperately.
-
Especially that our K4 seems to be modeled with G6 wings and additional G2 data about control stiffness and responsivnes and CG position and we have G6 models standing whole in museums According to Wiki this 109 is airworthy in USA: Bf 109 G-14 610937 (N109EV), ex-Bf 109 G-10/U-4, ex-Bulgarian AF, Ex-Yugoslavian AF 9664, 172 Group / 83rd SQ "44", Green << , Evergreen Aviation Museum, McMinnville, Oregon. So yeah, I am waiting for Bf109G14:pilotfly::smilewink:

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
Solty replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Or maybe its the F16C? Or not :3 -
Every pilot not depending on country had ground crew that does everything with him. We can read about it in pilot's publications and intervieed. Bud Anderson 16 1/4 kills, said to his crew he would like a silver P51 instead of green. And his crew changed his paint scheme within one night.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4juN7Vy7KUA We have supposedly 1944 so that's 6 more months of war, so that's still a lot of time. Of course we can say that the airfield is undersupplied but, don't we want whole simulation of airplanes systems and among them weapon systems? :3

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
Solty replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Thats a good update, thx. Still, we need those two planes :D -
If they are creating F4 Wildcat its wierd. Why? Because VEAO is making one too. So we will have two Wildcats?!?!?!
-
It is an F4 Wilcat and F4 Phantom II, they also have P38 and F6F Hellcat So... I wouldn't take it as any sign. Also... Phantom more complex than F-14?
-
I am sorry but this is too vague. Torque is present in the game and pulling on a stick causes stalling. Can you say it with a full sentence please?:helpsmilie:
-
Elaborate please.:book:
-
Can't take the tension man.:P
-
Meanwhile I don't even have peddals and use rudder twist with my almost 8 years old Saitek AV8R :P
-
If AiM120 wasn't present on the aircraft in any combat scenario, then it shouldn't be in the game. It is like asking for P-51D to have 20mm Hispanos. It could have them, and P-51 (Mustang MK1a) had them, but that doesn't mean the D should have them. And we are talking F/A-14A&B... so yeah. Su27 doesn't have R77 in the game too, so I don't see the problem. It is going to be just different. Different tactics, and different use of weapons.

Basic things about the Messerschmitt Bf-109
Solty replied to IIIJG52_Otto_'s topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
He also said that the plane has inssuficient rudder to keep the aircraft straight during takeoff as the rudder is smaller than in Piper 18 and plane has directional stability problem during take off. So that is interesting to me. The rest seemed too vague to get any conclusion from it. -
What doest that have to do with anything? Many games support mods and community created content. Why shouldn't map builder be open to people, so that they can maintain longevity of the sim via their own creative content? Look at il2 46 where you have tons of maps that were created by moders.

This guy misses one thing. MiG21 has standard delta wing design, while modern planes have LERX, (leading-edge root extension) which gives them ability to maneuver at highter AoA without stalling. I saw a Romanian MiG21 at Radom Airshow 2015. When it flew around 600kph and turned the instantenous turn was quite nice, but it has burned all its energy and immediately had to level out, because you could see that was just too much for the plane. While F16, MiG29 had better sustained turns. Anyway, turnfighting is all that important? I mean since WW1 it wasn't... what happened again? Maneuvering is not turning on its own.
-
To me the most important is the flight model. Systems can be simplified as they are mostly classified. To me, in flying, flight is the most important experiece .

Ummm... set the plane nation to be "Germany", and you will get lots of WW2 paint schemes... duh :P
