Russian missiles don't need it XD. Seriously though its not the first thread about this, and none of the previous one were given much attention, soI would tend to say its not in short-time plans.

I'm used to seeing AIs do weird things...Weird damage model, landing without wings, rudder and gear, but that definitively tops it XD

My guess is the F-5 coming out, must have taken some ressources, also it impliments a WHOLE NEW net code, not really minor.

You cannot use the ''not enough instances card'' here... Youtube is filled w/ crazy instances where 2+ missiles did not do the job. Just me, I had 5 times I just rtb'ed cause the mirage was still flying after 2+ missiles (and sometimes multiple gun runs) didn't kill him. Whenever I see a mirage online, i'm slightly afraid, not because its a capable airframe, but because I know it will pass BVR for sure as missiles won't do s***, and than he won't loose any abilities in the merge. Also, you compare it to other planes, so let's do that : Mig-29 : 25% as tanky as the mirage, survives 120s daily Ground pounders : occasionally survive 120s, but minimal 27 : dies by any MRM missile excepted VERY few instances F-15 : dies by a single bullet hit w/ hydro failure of doom

While I agree at 200% for trainers, the F-5 is a pillar of vietnam, and just like some only fly WW2, some will only fly vietnam. Also, unlike some lame trainer, the F-5 should a good challenge in dogfight, yes it lacks power, but its quite agile. Beside, ''usefull'' is a weird statement, given this is a simulator and that in every recent conflics, mig-21s/23s where the main prey, so having a equivalent for reds will be quite good.

Stats ignore sooooooooo many important factors that they become quite meaningless...Stuff like TKs, lag-kicks, engaging in 1v3s, manoeuvre kills, kill steal, formation flights (where a kill is often the work of two), etc. Also like sweeper said, server reset so often that without something to keep track of stats, all I can say is that my trade rate is between 4 and 8...

I'm efficient with the F-15, occasionally fly the Mirage. I have flown in all FC3 and the a10c and know the basics about those planes though I haven't flown in them in something like a year. As soon as the F18 comes out i'll mainly fly it, or maybe i'll still fly in the F15 just as much depending of the 18's A2A capacities.

If an a-10 sneaks up on you because you didn't shoot it, i'm pretty sure that he would shoot (I sure would). Also, if escorting CAS, you not only should, but must take down enemy CAS. Not sure where the logic of not targeting ground pounders is.

There are ways to make it so that escort flights aren't loiter flights (just look at all the scenarios you mentioned), missions are just designed to be either an A2G target practice OR an A2A giant furball of doom which brings unlikely scenarios (by no mean is this a complain, furballs sure test your SA).

IRL strikers have escort/ A2A support. In two and a quarter year of going on the 104th I have shot down many strikers of which I can't remember many were escorted. Now you can always argue missions can be more realistic and all, but realism starts with organisation, which is very often missing.

Replays are VERY unreliable even in stable versions, 1.5.4 is beta and (at the moment) all sorts of buggy, so you shouldn't expect too much.

AIs do not use normal flight model and dammage model due to CPU limitations (ie you want 50 bombers, lotta lag). This is why stuff like that happens, I've also seen a mirage 2000 landing with no vert. stabilisator and a missing wing, where the mirage landed on 2 gears ;) This behavior affects pretty much every AI aircraft, ED's aware of it. Doubt it will be fixed as this lowers CPU load as I said. Just use a few more bullets :/

My point is on topic : Point system is broken and I find it useless, no matter what aircraft you are in. I think we should have a ''transport'' section like ''planes'' instead of just adding points. -

Score is meaningless in MP. DCS doesn't register A2A kills 20% of the time, than add manoeuver kills, To me the important is to do what you are supposed to, even if you don't get points...I'd still A2A if it game me negative points... -
Hmmm...glad you figured how to use tacView @ 50% 1) engagement one, I DO FLARE...TWICE 2)No, R77 and R27 and AIM120 DO NOT have the same values. 3) Putting a hill between a missile and its target does have a tendency to make guidance difficult. Plus I flared, so when I recomitted, the missile wasn't looking at the right place. 4)The R77 hit me at 103931, tacVIew can be weird for that.

Ok... 1)simply look on the top you have plane selection (the only thing you can click on to have a list of planes) Not sure if this is genuine or just not trying enough. 2) the AIM-120 DOES NOT make smoke IRL! The R-27 DOES! This is a simulation, if you want a fair&balanced game unlike real life go play hawx or something. 3) Please don't turn the thread into a missile complain one, already so many out there.

Je sais que si tu n'attends pas assez avant de décoller (3-4min) la boussole n'a pas le temps de s'alligner correctement et cause le même problème.
