Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
lucky-hendrix replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
When the MCG is available, will it be possible to buy again a gunfighter pro + warthog adapters ? I have a warthog and I got used to the grip, MCG looks great. But I thought by buying a gunfighter pro I could have the best of both world, with a great gimbal, a kg13grip for when flying ww2 and a warthog grip for the rest :) Sent from my XT1072 using Tapatalk -

Realistic Curve Settings
lucky-hendrix replied to hughlb's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Indeed they may have, but for us sim pilots this doesn't matter. Hopefully if the dev did a good job modeling the aircraft and the virtual flight stick deflection->control surface deflection relation is modeled in detail with all eventual non-linearities. However changing the curve setting in the game option only changes the joystick->virtual flight stick relationship. And thus the fact that an aircraft may or may not have a curve (non-linearity) or whatever built in, doesn't change anything to this conversation -
It is not discounted anymore right ? I can still not use my bonus on normandy+assets, when will I be able to ?

Hello all, I am very interested in buying the oculus rift and jumping on the VR bandwagon. But first I wonder if I should upgrade my PC or not and with what gear. my current config is i5-2500K /AMD R9 290 /16gbDDR4 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JwfqQV First of all, do you think this is enough to do DCS in VR ? I guess you will say it won't be optimal, but I am asking because I wonder if it would be a god idea to maybe buy first the rift and then upgrade my PC, just to try it out before shelling out the money (Even though I am quite confident at this point that I will love it;) ). Next, If I upgrade my config I can spare about 1000€(I live in belgium), so I plan to go for an i5-7600K/RX480. (Something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/list/B6kKd6) Do you think this will be enough for decent Perf in VR ? Should I rather go for a better CPU like I7-7700K and try to save money on the other components ? Or rather try to get a 1070 ? Thanks a lot for all your advices :joystick:

Hi guys, I was trying to do this for the ka-50, So I added my lines in the default.lua. but I can't use the line to assign a joystic or throttle button ? Should I modify the Joystick - HOTAS Warthog.lua ? why do I have to modify that one ? with the MIG21 I only had to modify default.lua -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5
lucky-hendrix replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Tonight around 23.45 Nalchik defences were down, I was in nalchik on station after having dropped a stinger team. And I just saw another blue Mi8 get shot down next to me So I decided to lay low. I am thinking of going back to beslan but after a few minute a kind soul tells me on the chat that there are troops I can pick up 5km for me to get them to nalchik and capture it. So I quickly start up again my mi8 and go on to follow the instruction (thx to whoever guided me I forgot your nickname), and when I'm almost on the the friendly troops, my connection decided to drop -_- really frustrating. You win this time red -
How to set up toggle switches (a tutorial)
lucky-hendrix replied to Spy Guy's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hey I tried your method but, when I go into the game, I can only assign the alternate button to my first joystick, see the screen : -
You'll have to explain me how it works then ... The way I understand it, if you want to look at some thing at the right edge of your screen (say an airplane), you move your eyes to right. But by doing so the view shifts right, and now that air plane is in the centre of your screen. So you return your eyes to looking straight ahead, and the image shifts to the left, the airplane is again to the right of your screen ... So in my understanding, with this it will be impossible to focus your view on a single gauge inside the cockpit or to keep an enemy aircraft in the center of your screen. With track ir you don't have this problem as head and eye movement are dissociated. But maybe there is something I have not understood. I would like to have someone demonstrate you can keep an object in the centre of your view while moving around it with this.

Tracking your eye sound terrible, it means that if you have a bug screen and look at anywhere else than the center of it your view will shift, making it unable to focus your vision on one particular item... Plus no 6dof for that price...

Launching the updater doesn't update my 1.2.6 to 1.5.2, it just launches DCS 1.2.6. How can i fix this ?
-
Not sure if it is a bug or a feature but the PC light turns off at very high altitudes(>59000 feets), even tough the afterburner is still engaged (same visual effect and same fuel comsuption). Also at that altitude Tt7 is very low (about 410°C), again,. not sure if normal or a bug

Taking off with the K4 in DCS 2.0
lucky-hendrix replied to louisv's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Maybe it has to do with the temperature ? colder temperature will result in more engine power. check to see if you are testing in the same conditions -
The wheater is pretty bad now, do you think it is still worth coming today ?
-
doing cold start myself in 2"10' now.

lucky-hendrix replied to Jazz_44's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Man, I'm sure you fired on the fuel trucks located in airbase (the very long trucks that are usualy in AB) it's normal that they explode so easly. And about the T80 are you sure all the Vikhr had a direct hit ? -
you can move the view around without Track-IR alt + PN keys will just do fine.
-
So english version has russian speechs that's great ! Will the upcomming western-DVD version also russian speeches ? I hope so , it's so immersive
