DCS: F-14 Carrier Landing SHB [Demo]
lucky-hendrix replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
In the tape engine gauge the two on the right are fuel flow in pounds per hour. Just move the throttle untill desired fuel flow, nothing special Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk -
You look outside?? You should know Hat us on your jet when you start, plus it is in the kneeboard Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

I am intrigued by what you said that you use a mix of track it /gyroscopic for head tracking. What is it exactly? Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

Shouldn't this thread be in the mission editor section rather ? Thx for the script very useful! Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

All fuel control are on the left panel bellow the landing gear handle. There is a big white rocker switche for fuel quantity gauge. If you keep it pressed in 'external', the fuel gauge will show the external fuel tanks in the numeric readout left and right of the tapes On the right of this there is an external tanks switch. Three positions overide-norm-off in norm, it will automatically pull fuel from ext. Tank when WOW is off. In overide it will allow ext. Tank feed even with WOW (if WOW malfunction for instance), in off it will only use internal tanks Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

We will never have deep enough ew to justify an EW dedicated aircraft. So much is out of the scope of the sim. And even if it wasn't, it doesn't interest a lot of people and/or it is classified Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

About this cooling switch. Is the negative effect of having it off modeled ? It seemed to me I forgot to put it on once and AWG-9 was still working fine. I supose IRL this would quickly malfunction the WCS

Weapon employment summary (all correct?)
lucky-hendrix replied to viper2097's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Comon, give the guy a break! He is trying to help everyone understand ! I find his chart very helpful, indeed there may be some mistakes. But if you have better information, please feel free to put it forward in a comprehensible way and update the chart for the benefit of everyone. Or show us in a comprehensive way what we don't understand. Rather than posting passive-agresssive attacks ... -

And to trim you just use a hat switch ? I always feel like the trim steps are "too big" and I end up trimming in one direction then the other -

lucky-hendrix replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Really impresing. Maverick, may I ask you how you stay so stable at 800ft before the break ? I seem to always have to make small adjustments and retrim. What stick do you have and what curves ? Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk -

An idea of VR cockpit
lucky-hendrix replied to ravenzino's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes, it suffice! Because I do it all the time... I have a button box similar to a FA-18 UFC. I use it all the time now to input coordinates as Rio in the F14. And before that I used the keyboard numpad to input coords in the FA-18 and the A10 without problems. I also have a generic button box with encoders. That have different use in different aircrafts (QFE, radar altimeter settings, course settings). And I can find those switches just fine without ever looking Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk -
An idea of VR cockpit
lucky-hendrix replied to ravenzino's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
But his point is that, after having spent a lot of resources to be 'guided' to the switch. It will be useless, because after just a few flights you won't need to be guided anymore, you'll be able to find the switch by muscle memory Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk -

It seems to be a bug. Because if you uncheck 'use mouse' in vr settings. Then you can always click the radio menu. Also with 'use mouse' checked. If you look straight ahead and your mouse pointer is in center or screen at the moment you open the radio menu. Then, if you move your mouse to the radio menu if will work. Behaviour is spotty Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

Well, it is still a bit of work. But 3D model is there. I would hope ED still has it ( or maybe they lost the files, wouldn't surprise me ...) So just collision model. And a damage model, but that can be very simple. All this is just copy paste from existing code. AI behaviour already exist in other units. So does the damage model. So the only thing to do is a collision model, and tweak a few configuration numbers. I still can't believe that dcs does not have a single AI airliners other than the yak-40. It seems such a basic feature Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

Hi all, In Persian gulf map we have static tankers built the map sitting around in the gulf.( They look quite bad without wake) In both Persian gulf map and NTTR map, we have static airliners staying at the major airports. Why are both these 3D models not used to make an civilian AI unit. For the airliners you could just use the 3D model and put it on the yak-40 AI. For tankers, take one of the civilian boat and put the tanker 3D model on it. This would require very very little work form ED! And provide with very needed AI to populate mission. Plus those static look quite stupid without moving. Please ! Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

Make Ships "solid" so that you can place infantry on them
lucky-hendrix replied to HC_Official's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Those tankers are really badly implemented. They stay put and have no wake, so they don't even look like real ships. Other ship just sail through them like ghosts. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk -
Hi all, I played "flogger face off" single player mission that comes with the module. I fly to the ship, but no floggers and nothing happens ? Bug ? Normal ? Also, I start with only 8000pounds of fuel. This is pretty minor anyway. Br Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk

Probably ASW. Try pressing left ctrl + numpad 2 Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
