  1. Foveated rendering might be an Nvidia feature, but honestly who's using ATi graphics card anyway? It's obvious that ED should incorporate the feature: higher performance and higher graphical quality, win-win.
  2. Sadly, I wasted a good amount of time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong, only to find out later it was a bug that was incorporated into a newer version that previously worked fine.
  3. I haven't been able to select vertical ACM mode. Is this the bug you're talking about?
  4. What had to be done to correct the launch issue regarding blacking out from excessive bounce?
  5. I felt like it was easier to maintain onspeed AOA for Case I recovery mission.
  6. So you're fine with scripting things that should be simulated?
  7. I've noticed strange behavior with trim and abnormal exaggerated pitch in nonstandard conditions. This is a problem, because this is digital combat simulator, not digital combat scripting.
  8. I think if it's going open source then AMD can put it in their own drivers, but not sure.
  9. Since PhysX is going open source, any chance DCS will incorporate it, assuming AMD adopts it in their drivers? https://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2018/12/03/physx-high-fidelity-open-source/
  10. Faster ram will probably help. Degree uncertain, but you'll probably get less stuttering.
  11. Check out letsbld.com The biggest advantage with building your own computer is you pick your own parts. In the old days you could save money, but it almost seems like it's more expensive going on your own.
  12. Frame time information would be most helpful to see what setup is best to minimize stuttering.
  13. No issues yet, though I'm not going beyond stock, and I have 960mm of radiators cooling everything. Running 2080ti and 9900k.
  14. Wrong, you're thinking in the old way of programming "AI". Look at Alphago and you'll see the future of gaming AI. But, you don't have to be Google to design a machine learning AI...
  15. If Eagle Dynamics was really smart, they would "teach" AI by iteratively learning using machine learning. Set up a dogfight between two aircraft, multiply by 1,000,000 iterations, then you have the best pilot AI in existence. Put that AI up against human players by adjusting decision making speed. The slower the "thinking" by the AI, the more it will screw up. You don't even need to have the AI processing as expensive computer processes once the AI has learned all that it needed to.
  16. Almost twice faster is still a big difference. Seconds add up. And, if stuttering is a symptom of storage bottleneck, then faster will always be better.
  17. Wonder why so many business sites try to tear down Nvidia? They were trying to pump up AMD's stock.
  18. I got sick of waiting for a bfgd, so I went with 4k 144hz HDR. $1800 from microcenter.
  19. Whenever higher density Nvme SSDs become available, I'll just clone my current drive to the newer one.
  20. I don't think there's a 2tb Pro version. If there was, I would have gotten it, lol. As far as NVMe, I'd say if you can minimize stuttering in DCS by even 10%, it's worth it. At least if there's stuttering and you've tried everything to minimize it, you can't blame yourself for not trying, you'll just accept the fault of the DCS engine.
  21. Not yet for DCS specifically until Vulkan gets put into the engine, but more cores definitely are better if you run things in the background while you're playing DCS.
  22. By the time Vulkan gets incorporated into DCS, newer processors will be out. Might as well wait another generation. I'm going with an 8 core Intel now because I don't have anything close to its power right now, and it should last for at least the next 5 years.
  23. I wouldn't go any lower than 8 cores if you're buying a new processor on an Intel platform. I would go with Ryzen if on a budget. But go Intel if you want the absolute fastest now, and guaranteed to perform well for many years down the road.
  24. That's why I think a 9900k should be the minimum you get if you go Intel, otherwise you'll fall behind AMD eight core, even with AMD's lower IPC and lower clocks.
