  1. Our best flight yet on ITJ! The Chinook is really becoming a favorite of mine to hear in game. Time stamps included. Check Zippers landing out!
  2. @tobi @Eight Ball F***** love yalls work man!!!!!!! I think we have flown the Cayuse almost every week since it came out. This past Friday was hands down our best flight yet! The video is a little long winded, but worth seeing your hard work at play. Had some bad ass coop time with the guys. Watching the CH-47 come in to pick up a downed pilot from the Cayuse is beyond awesome! Time stamps in the video so you can see. We are posting all our stuff on our ITJ thread now. Link is in the video. If you want to see your stuff in action every week, I usually post one or two video a week. Any more Vietnam assets or aircraft on the horizon? Again, cannot thank you gents enough!
  3. This is something we are definitely talking about. We are tossing around several ideas. It will come down to scripting and making it dynamic, so it is not the same every time. I feel like we can pull it off for sure. More to come. As far as sling load goes, it is a niche thing, but I to enjoy it. Especially in the Chinook now. I found some more assets today that might make it even more entertaining. More testing is required and again, making it meaningful and fun for the pilots is the goal. Priority wise, it will be a little further down the line once we conquer some other ideas we have. Not forgotten though.
  4. Can anyone from Heatblur confirm the plan is still to continue making the Phantom family after the Echo variant? I was wondering if plans have already been made for the next variant and if so, will the Bravo model (Navy carrier based) be considered first? You gents have spoiled me with the level of detail in the Echo and I cannot in good conscience go back to the VSN F-4 for the Navy. I know your hands are full with the Eurofighter and Intruder (I want the A-6 before anything) but can you comment?
  5. Hey my friend. So, I laid down some cargo units to practice sling loading with the Huey and Chinook, but we have not yet incorporated any real functionality yet. My intent was to at some point have each cargo unit provide an actual supply of weapons to the FARP, giving us reason to actually sling load cargo to the FARPs. Right now, we have a lot of irons in the fire bringing new functionality to the mission, so the actual sling load "objectives" are not implemented. I would like to revisit the dynamic cargo options that came along with the Chinook and maybe see if it is worth implementing for those who like to deliver cargo/sling load. We also have a pretty big Chinook update inbound so I would also like to see what comes along with that. For the time being, you can get close to the cargo, select what you want to hook up to with the F10 menu, then carry it and drop it anywhere. More to come in the future on this probably.
  6. @TeTeTWhere can I find the craft the Huey is landed on? I do not see it in the latest release pack. The River patrol boats are in there, but the barges seem to be missing? I would like to incorporate these into our mission.
  7. The below two videos were shot prior to last weekend. I was out all week for work and did not have a chance to ge them finished. Stand by for last nights video. Probably the best time we have had on ITJ. Kandy did some magnificent work scripting the groups differently thanks to some community suggestions and requests. This now absolutely feels more random than ever. Units are not spawning in the same place and it truly takes some team work to go scout and mark target for your buddies. We also have some other additions I will discuss soon. Good times on the horizon for ITJ. In the first video, I was absolutely surprised to see the new Super Carrier plane directors working with the A-4. This was awesome and a challenge given the fact you are using brakes to turn the aircraft. One bug I found at the end of the flight, and I mention it in the second video is when you RTB to the carrier and they guide you off the active, the plane director wants you to fold your wings. You cannot do that in the A-4 so that is where the assistance stops with the directors. Oddly enough, the message stayed on screen as I selected other aircraft. I remember months ago this happened with the F-4, but I cannot remember if I did something to correct it or if it was a patch. Suggestion, if you land with the A-4 on the carrier, do not taxi off the active, just select another aircraft after you raise your hook and flaps. In this video, Zipper and I were testing the Chinook for the first time in CSAR capacity. He tried in the video above and we will say the wind caused the accident.......... After flying this with him, I absolutely believe this helicopter will make ITJ more believable and fun to play with friends. Flying formation with him and the sound of that big beast coming in will give you goose bumps. Even though we were not successful in a first RTB, the troops get in and respond when in the area. Stay tuned for the next video from last nights flight. Zipper crushed it. Best flight we have ever had hands down. A lot of awesome changes inbound.
  8. I agree with this my friend. I will talk to Kandy but I think we could honestly pull these statics out. As much as it pains me to say it, they do not fit the time period. When flying a client with the old army livery without the MMS, it feels like an old school Vietnam Ranger from the outside, but obviously modern day from inside. I think we can leave them as clients because the way we have them set up pulls off the Vietnam vibe but kill the statics to keep the visuals looking time period specific.
  9. Did a quick video on the Chinook performance in DCS. Probably still needs some optimization from ED before it gets alot better.
  10. @currenthill Currenthill, I thought it would be easier to make a quick video to thoroughly walk you through my request/suggestion for new units. The team and I have been working very hard to create a Vietnam experience for the DCS community over the past 6 months. This passion of ours has been fueled even more so now that we got word a Vietnam map is still not in the works and won't be for a while until the technology is there for ED, per Wags most recent video. We are currently using Tobi/Eightballs Vietnam asset pack and Cayuse. The biggest problem is the lack of ground AI units, specifically period specific US infantry, NVA, and MACV SOG if possible. We will be adding ViolenNomads Cobra as soon as it makes the scene. I would like to know if you would be interested in making some Vietnam era assets for the community for our Into the Jungle experience? We are looking to expand it further and hopefully add some new objectives to the mission. The first video is me discussing what we are looking for and seeing if you might be interested. I am flying around during the video just to show you a fraction of what we have accomplished so far. The 3 videos below are actual videos of us getting after it online in period specific aircraft. This vision of ours is meant to be played online with friends but is also single player friendly as well. I am sure my counter parts will add to this post in favor. The 3 of us would be more than willing to drop donations your way and pay for any 3D model you may find online, or we locate for you to bring to DCS. We are not seeking a time frame of completion, just a shared interest and appreciation for the time period and someone who has the passion to bring this to DCS. Would gladly promote you and all your hard work. I have started by adding this thread to my video as well as your homepage. Out ITJ mission is starting to catch a larger volume of players, and I know it would exponentially grow with your work being added to it. Currently we have a significant amount of scripting involved that dynamically generates CSAR missions and ground-oriented scouting/combat missions. Every play through is different. We have created numerous FARPS and redesigned Andersen to appear like an airfield out of Vietnam. I have attached a link below to sketchfab's site where they have a Vietnam era 3D pilot that would be perfect for our CSAR operations instead of the default US infantry guy we have now. The name of the 3D model is US Jet Pilot Outfit. How hard would it be to implement something like this pilot as an animated AI unit? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hope you enjoy the videos. The first one should really help you understand our vision for this. Sketchfab - The best 3D viewer on the web
  11. We can absolutely do this! I will get to work on it with Kandy. I have noticed some hits up there as well. Let me see what more we can take out that makes sense and hopefully reduce the workload around Andersen. I am hoping if they release Vulkan this year it will help a lot. Time will tell on that. Let us work on it this weekend for sure. Greatly appreciate the feedback.
  12. This was a quick F-5 CAS flight on Saturday with Zipper. No landing this time. We were stretched on time so I jumped in a Cayuse to go back Zipper upper (video coming).
  13. Your awesome man! I will absolutely do that! I have a few sitting in a folder now I need to make and some on the way. Seems like every time we fly this, thee is great content and something new going on. I will be taking two sidewinders with me on the Phantom this Thursday.
  14. Zipper and I had some free time to fly on Saturday. Took the Huey up and had some unexpected encounters on the South side of the island. This was one of my best Huey flights. Forgot how much I appreciate the door gunners and their M-60s. Got the itch to start flying the old girl more.
  15. We are looking into this. Kandy has set it up so we can test it. Are you playing offline or online? We have noticed that for some reason this makes a difference. Also, any chance you could provide your PC specs? Let us see if there is any way we can recreate what you are experiencing.
  16. Understood. I just thought in 7 years, the devs might have found some time to add such a small function to their aircraft, especially when the focus has seemed to be placed on the pilots in recent ED updates with the Hornet, Viper, and now F-5. You gents even did an animation for the visor coming down. I feel like this was something that should have been included with those updates and again, fully understand the list thing. I see it all the time on here with numerous requests, but 7 years the community has asked for this, and you updated the pilot and their helmets and left this out again. I am having trouble finding where ED's incentive will be to go back and work on the pilot helmet again. Hope this does not get left behind, it really is an essential part of flying in VR and has significant functionality to how the players enjoy their experience.
  17. 100% I think this is all the community is really looking for to be honest as far as tinted visors are concerned.
  18. This is at least good to know. Sad though. The mod now is good but has so much more untapped potential. Sad to hear only fixes are planned. I misinterpreted the last comms and thought there was going to be more work to the 3D model and functionality. Thank you for clarifying though.
  19. Loving the feedback from the community!!!!! Zipper and Kandy have gave me a few more ideas for more content. We need to look into it and see how things play out, but we are enjoying the direction this is going. Saw a new group today while flying with Zipper that has never spawned before, or at least that I have seen. I have a few videos from today I need to work on to include the F-5, a great Huey video, and of another Cayuse ride. More to come.
  20. This is the best thing about ITJ, someone's bad night always makes their buddies a fub one. LOL
  21. Do you think the creator of the Bronco would be willing to give what he has to another talented mod developer that may want to take it over and improve it if the current owner does not want to do so? I am sure anyone who took it over would give credit where it is do.
  22. @ViolentNomad Just wanted to show you she has a home when you release her to the public!
  23. To be honest, I am not 100% sure. You will need to reach out to the Split Air Team and ask. They are doing a phenomenal job it looks like with all their stuff so I have faith when they get back around to the Bronco it will be amazing. We fly it literally every week when we are tearing up our Vietnam experience. Really looking forward to hearing what their plans are for it.
  24. This was the Cayuse flight following the Phantom CAS. Good times!!!!
