I had the same problem but fixed it this way: I also have a lot of mods so I always make sure to deactivate them all before updating. I have both Open Beta and release version of 1.5.4 and after updating the release version I encountered the same problem with the 21. First I made a repair, that did not help..then I uninstalled The MiG-21 and reinstalled it again...did not help. Then I uninstalled the MiG again and also uninstalled the Open Beta. After that I installed the MiG again and it worked fine...seems like some outdated files were copied from the Open beta during the update operation of the release version..just my guess...

The MiG-21bis does not have aileron trim system..

Did you use the gun? Happens to me only when i run out of ammo which is suggesting that the ammo container is maybe shifted from the center. I know that the ammo loading hatch is on the port sidebehind the canopy...just guessing..must consult my book to check..its been a long time since I knew everything about the Fishbed by heart :D

BTW. Rudel, congratulations on new spec layers..makes all non natural metal skins look as realistic as possible..not too shinny anymore with just the right dose of reflection...NICE! and the bare metal skin is gorgeus :)

Interesting read on the topic..use google translator. In short, during the Balkan wars in 1992 a Yugoslav air force pilot shot down a Bell 206 or as some sources say 205 with IR missiles, presumably R-60. The engagement took place at about 100m AGL with the MiG closing in on the helicopter at around 1000m in 5 seconds. The effective launch distance in that situation was 1200m max and 1000m min which left the pilot a window of 1 second to react. He launched one after another..one missile went for the sun while the other hit the target. Something like that was not done before and was never attempted again. The pilot reactions and decision on how to manouver to fulfill the mission was improvisation and self-initiative as that was a situation nobody had ever trained for. It really all comes down to indovidual machines...some are makeshift field improvizations, sometimes after an overhaul the cockpit is painted in the most similar color available to the original etc..I was serving in the Croatian air force and I can tell you, there are quite some variations of the cockpit color..no real standardizations

In croatian airforce we had the blue one just like the one LNS choose, we had turquoise, mint green, standard green and even grey ones..I am not home right now to show you photos...anyhow..here is a link for the download of varipus cockpit mods with different colors and annunciator lights..some things I modified from other mods by other modders but more of the things I made myself...the ASP wall is custom at the moment, you can download various mods to replace it. Thought this might help someone as it did for me.. So, after the second update to 1.5.4 I also experienced stutters in exactly the same conditions as described in this topic (although it was pronounced much more with the MiG-21 module than any other) and I never before experienced such stutters/FPS loss. I ran on the stable version. I tried deleting the options.lua and it did not work. So I just haven`t flown it until the most recent third update where I decided that I should download the OpenBeta and update the stable version also. I deleted the options.lua from the OpenBeta version, copied all my saved control profiles and set up all the oprions just as they are in the stable version...here is where it gets interesting...I did not copy any missions from the stable version, I just made new ones in ME and it was butter smooth, no stutters or FPS loss whatsoever, just like it always was. So, when I observed what was going on I decide to update the stable version to the latest third update and try the saved missions..deleted the options.lua but flown already saved missions and to my amazement the stutters were still there and still severe as well as the FPS loss. What I did is copied my missions to a backup folder, deleted all the missions from the "missions" folder and copied them back from the backup folder in the "missions" folder. Took a spin and voalá! Buttery smooth with stable FPS. So, one of the things is to try that and see if it works for you+deleting the oprions.lua. Either create new missions from scratch or backup, delete and copy back. Hope that helps some of you as it did me and now flying is pure joy again. Cheers

I always used the mediator tool to activate my sweetfx presets for DCS and it worked like a charm. I had to completely reinstall Win10 and now when I do exactly as the instructions for installing and enabling sweetfx trough Mediator tool, DCS crashes at start up. When DCS starts, the sweetfx text in the upper left corner shows up as usual and then when it gets to te point where it says loading effects DCS stops working...any ideas? I am on the latest stable 1.5.4. version

That is a rather brutal shake...I have my slider at cockpit shake level also set on 100 and do not experience this kind of shaking on ground while taxiing. Altough I fly missions from ME..should try the quick missions
