Interesting feedback from a former tomcat pilot https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/27889/confessions-of-a-navy-f-14-fleet-pilot-turned-f-5-aggressor I remember being amazed at the lack of proficiency and proper weapons employment from their F-16 pilots. When we were in the Persian Gulf, we had a week where we fought the Emirati Mirage 2000-5 pilots. They were actually quite aggressive pilots who displayed a keen awareness of the tactics to employ against the weaknesses of the F-14A. They would jam to the merge, then pull 9Gs, flying so high we almost lost sight. If we did, they would tag us with a heater (infrared short-range guided missile). But if you could survive the first merge to employ follow-on BFM, they became easy prey.

Waiting also eagerly the F-14A to do some top gun fights against Mig-28's. The 70' - 80' is my favorite era.

The anti slip sticks are gone from my TWCS throttle. Can anyone recommend a specific brand / type to replace them? I like also the sticks the came with virpil's war brd base, anyone remember the exactly model of them?

Had not exactly the same but a similar problem (with a virpil base) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=234186&highlight=cougar In the beginning, I thought that was related to my old cougar grip. But I had the same problems even after installing a brand new Warthog grip I bought from TM, so currently I'm talking with Virpil (base manufacturer) to solve the problem

TM is alive. Just ordered a Warthog grip (just the handle)

over at r/hotas wingwing said that the price 'is not so expensive, you can guess " and that the suspected from a user price of 2500$' is "crazy and impossible".

Thanks! have reposted the thread over at r/hotas Perhaps a good place is also the hotas discord channel.

Agree. Aside the technical features, which I think will be unveiled from the manufacturer, how can we preorder if we don't know (even an approximate) price in first place?

Sounds good . Is there any chance to get in the future a Mirage 2000C hotas system, as you may know, there is already a respective module developed for DCS?
-
Now that's very interesting. Will you have also vendors in the EU? Will the grip and / or throttle base be interchangeable with other future grips / throttle levers?

My wife! So i decided to do it myself

Hi guys! I have the WAR BRD base + my hotas cougar old grip. Have downloaded the latest firmware yesterday, and followed the steps in the manual -load device profile / open firmware update mode / start firmware / close firmware / save device profile. - load device profile / import profile from file / vpc base _war brd + grip _Cougar / save device profile. - load device profile / axis calibration / set center and save / save profile I have the following problem = if I press any button on the stick, and I operate simultaneously the stick back or left, after a specific axis input value the button depression (for any button) is not working . That happens if I keep depressing the button or if I press it first time while , after I pulling up / left. For the guns trigger (second detent), after that axis value all buttons on the stick are simultaneously pressed. With the previous firmware stick worked, but I had from the beginning some sporadic issues. The problem got worse few days ago, so I decided to update the firmware. Buttons are working normally if I don't move the stick. Any idea to overcome with the software this problem? Might this be hardware related? my cougar grip is very old , but I have used it very little. Thanks

Will the classic Jolly Rogers livery with the yellow pilot helmets as seen in The Final Countdown be available ? (please …). On a side note, can we change the pilot helmets or are they tied together with each livery?

Also, Zeus, since you are reviewing the hud/ hdd / radar functionality, here are some related (suspected) bugs we have discussed in the past. 1) https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196471&page=16 (pages 16 - 18. Discrepancy regarding the Aspect Angle between hud / hdd. 2) S530 TTI bug . https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=199346 3) CCM boresight bug. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3178518#post3178518 . Don't know if it's related with the general CCM target switching bug https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177221 . You may have perhaps looking at those.

Thanks Zeus! Will the updates be released gradually per system (hud / pca, then radar etc.) or all together ?

Vertical scan ACM mode not working with HMD turned on
jaguara5 replied to Baz000's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Currently in game, you can select VACQ with HMD enabled if you first select WACQ. So castle switch left (WACQ selected) and then down (VACQ selected). Don't know if its a feature or a bug -
Yep
