  1. Definitely a +1 from me. The Harrier and Sader have excellent training missions, and I wish all the planes did. Its really just mission building, and I really wish they would invest some effort in this area.
  2. Agreed, for me it's the fact that they haven't just pushed it out. But the Apache is going to generate so much profit that I believe they will be pushed to rush it. My theory sounds underhanded, but I believe they're going to put out a polished Hind, so people will buy the rougher Apache. Now that being said they will get that Apache up to speed.
  3. Yeah, I kinda feel the same. But they didnt release anything in 2020, so hopefully they've been working on these for awhile. I actually expect the Hind to be pretty well developed on release. It's the first release since the Viper fiasco. But I suspect the Apache is gonna be rough.
  4. I was going to set up a simple mission where a group of Bradley's went out engaged some targets and returned. Problem is they don't. They just go to waypoint six, the BP. I've done some experiments and if the DP is any closer then the next waypoint, they just go to the DP. So patrols are out. Scratch that. If the DP is behind them at all it completely breaks there path finding.
  5. Honestly I think it would take four variants of the Phantom to do it justice. You need an early Land and sea variant, maybe something from the early Vietnam era, and the the later F-4J, and the F-4E. So something to fight the Mig-19 with, and something for the later cold war. If there can only be one, it should be the E model, but that would suck. Honestly I wish we could also get a very modern updated version with a hud, and AIM-120s.
  6. I hope we get a module at all.
  7. Right, that's way the Kiowa literally has the hardware to sample atmospheric conditions and relay it back to the artillery elements via datalink. That's why we have datalink networks that exist solely to locate and disseminate the location of enemy forces to all elements of the combined arms force. I'm certain that we've set up our military in such a way that if a pair of AH-64s spot a large number of infantry that absolutely cannot get on the radios and call in a fire mission. I mean maybe there loded out to kill armor, and not optimized for dismounted troops. But hey they can give it there best, even if there in range of a battery of field gun. Every single unit on the modern battlefield has a radio, and most have a data link for a reason. And just because we used these things one way in a coin fight in the middle east doesn't mean we would have used then in the same way in a peer to peer fight in Europe or Asia.
  8. Honestly this is a much needed feature for DCS. Both the Kiowa and the Apache would have used the hell out of it. Also I wonder if the A-10 should be able to do it as well. But it would give the artillery way more lethality if fire missions could be called in as needed.
  9. Absolutely, and those birds are still in use around the world. So they could still fit against the modern birds we have. It's an unfair fight for sure. But yeah, early 80's would be awsome. Still have some EW, still have missels, but you still have to fly them.
  10. B-2 JSTARS C-5 B-29/TU-2 C-27 DC-9 HE-111
  11. Let us hope. The issue is the AI has no BFM defensive behaviors at all. They don't jink, they don't really know how to reverse they dont really do anything. As soon as they go defensive, they just go into the stupid ass vertical loops shit. Heatblur's modules are a little better with there AI, but not by much. They also are stupid in there BVR defenses. They do try to offset, notch, and go cold. But they burn way to much energy with wasted maneuvers when notching.
  12. +1 for the JSTARs.
  13. Can't agree more. The Ai is probably the most limiting factor to single player enjoyment.
  14. 2021 is shaping up to be the year of the helicopter in DCS, and I for one am stoked for it. So what am I asking for? A few things actually, one is there any way to get a version of that AI gunner your working on in the Huey, and Hi Just having the crew call out targets, and threats would be a major improvement. And if we could set targets for the gunners that would a whole new level of awesomeness. For example if doing a quick hit on a supply convoy the player could set them to engage trucks, and ignore others targets. Another area that needs improvement is a purpose for the utility choppers. Yes we can carry sling lodes, and insert troops. But for the most part those sling loads are useless. It would be pretty sweet if they could actually be used to resupply ground forces the way a few trucks do now. Same for the copper itself. You could effect battles buy keeping the troops at the front supplied. And it actually be making a difference in the game. So instead of dropping a few sling loads to trigger some action, you ,for example, drop a sling load of ammo to a mortar battery, and they get 100 more rounds to lob at the enemy. You land near some infantry right up on the front, and they get there ammo topped off after a minut or so. Just a suggestion, I know there are scripts, but it can be organic to the game. There are of course other things I would like to see. Like pulling out wounded infantry, say any unit under 50% health. And having that effect a moral equation. But that would require a complete overhaul of the DCS ground AI. But I think the two changes mentioned above would go a long way to making our two favorite battle mules more relvent in DCS.
  15. If only one the E is the way to go for sure. Honest to god if you want the Pantom you better buy the Hind. What I would do if I was ED, and I decided to do this is develop, and release the echo first. Then do a paid upgrade for as modern of export model, to get AMRAAM, and better air to ground munitions. Honestly this seems like low hanging fruit for ED. The demand is there, they have the team, and they can get it out in reasonable time. So I don't see why we wouldn't see it. Let's hope I'm right.
  16. I'll give you that. Its gotten better but the SFM was never ment to handle torque, or engine temp, and really shows itself at slower speeds. It's a challenge in all WWII simulationors, but particularly bad in DCS. And that's sad.
  17. I think that the Phantom would have to have at least two variants. Maybe a B model from early Vietnam, and preferably a very late E model to use with modern jets. It's still out there with some counties, and it would be impossible to really capture its capabilities in just one version. Honestly I wish they would do three. An early Vitamin version, the latest E model that served in the USAF, and a very late export model.
  18. Ok, now I'm going to be a dick. Just because you can't beat it, dosen't mean its cheating. Yes it uses an SFM, yes an upgrade to something like the EFM would be nice. But.. there's going to be a limit. The AI sucks and dogfighting because the Ai sucks at dogfighting. Its its improved then it needs to get a lot harder. I've flown the SFM alot. Yes its its simpler, and yes its different. But its certainly no cheat. The XFM simply allows you to do so much that the SFM dose not. Yes there have been AI aircraft that had horribly unrealistic flight models. The Mig-19 at release was the worst I've seen. But as far as I can tell they have been fixed. Honestly if I can reliability beat the new Ai when it's set to ACE I'm going to be pissed. You shouldn't be able to beat it in the same aircraft when it's set to its highest level.
  19. Ok, I'm not trying to come off as a dick but. Because the AI behavior is definitely way to simple. However I'm not sure they totally cheat vs humans. So there are a few issues I see with your observation. One is that a Mig-15 should be a very tough fight for an F-14B, at least in a guns only turning fight it would be. Give the F-14 AIM-54s and place them sixty miles away, and see if the results change. The issue here isn't that the SFM the AI uses is so radically different from the FM your using. It isn't, not in broad strokes. It's that it's behaviors and tactics are really simple, and favor the the Mig-15 in this case. I can beat an Ai F-14B in the Saber or Mig over and over, and I can beat an Ai Saber or Mig in the F-14 the same way. But the tactics I use in the F-14 are not in the AI toolbox, at least not yet. Better AI is inbound, and hopefully that will fix a bunch of issues. I do think we need to keep on Ed's ass about it though.
  20. If any team decides to make this a reality I would be a minut one buy for me. I fell in love with this thing back during the LMOMAC days. Being an aviation geek I started looking into it, and the more I learned the more I wanted it. I love the mid to late Soviet era aircraft, and this one is just cool as hell.
  21. So I think something that's being missed is some of those functions are done be the ground crew. Alert aircraft are often fully aligned and ready to get airborne on a moment's notice. We can keep alot up and runing on ground power. Also I do think prealiged INS, TGP, and weapons should be a special option. It doesn't make the jet any more or lethal, and frankly time is finite. But it should be an option, not forced to work one way or the other.
  22. I know right. God I wish that the Bellsimtec team, or something like it could stand back up. Hell even if ED could just have a department to cover the classic. They could still work with ED when they needed to pool resources. I hope the Mi-24 makes a huge profit. Then maybe they would reconsider they're stance on cold war aircraft.
  23. That's fine, but others are interested. Apparently a good number of others judgeding from the amount of threads similar to this one there have been, and the amount of discussion they generat. And it is a wish list after all. I as well as others apparently wish this was a thing. If ED were to decide that there is enough interest to justify the effort then that is up to them. If not the same applies, but we've made our wishes known. On another note, ED has a much larger team then Heatblur, so that comparison is kinda apple's and oranges. Plus the Viper, Apache, Hawg, and Hornet will be the big cash cows for ED, keeping revenue coming in would probably be a good thing.
  24. Honestly that is more what I have in mind. Obviously earlier models would be sweet. But by keeping with the same model, but an earlier block the amount of work could be minimized. Plus the C models were far more numerous. It dose seem that there is interest. Admittedly having a paid downgrade would be a bit unorthodox, but I would gladly pay for late 80's early 90's Jets, and an A model Apache. I do wish they had fleeced us better though. And started with the earlier models, then made us pay for the upgrade.
  25. You guys are making long for an F-15A. More powerful, temperamental engines, a lighter airframe, old school FOX 1 fights, an analogue cockpit, oh and it's an F-15 just take my only now. Really this would be a great jet for DCS. A good thing is a pretty good chunk of the work is done too. Also the A is the variant that actually shot down most of those Migs. We have Syria. It would be beyond cool to recreate some of those dogfights over the Golan heights.
