LIke to have a replay mission that works like Tacview.
FlankerKiller replied to RTS354's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Honestly I always thought having a Tacview like replay running in the debrief screen would be really cool. One good eye candy, two you could actually review it, and see what happened. -
planes that you would like to see in DCS?
FlankerKiller replied to Erich Alfred Hartmann's topic in DCS Core Wish List
All of them! -
As the title says, I wish there were earlier lots of the F-18C. Much like what HB. is doing with the Tomcat. The Hornets that saw action in Desert Storm were much different then the lot 20 that we have. Same would be true for any mid 90s action. I would love to see at least a Desert Storm version, and maybe a 1995 version. I know it's not just as simple as taking out some systems. And dose require a new engine model. But it would be cool to do actual period correct scenarios.

Aircraft before the 1993 tech explosion for DCS
FlankerKiller replied to Pikey's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Moose, you forget something. The jets you want actually fought each other. I can't agree more that we would massively benefit from late cold war era stuff. Look at the popularity of the Tomcat. Its exactly the kind of jet you are describing. Hopefully next year we may see the A-7, F-1, maybe maybe the Mig-23. So there is hope. Honestly I think the online arena would explode in this era. I've made post before about it. All of my favorite jets to fly are from this era. -
It wouldn't matter. Mine is plan vanilla, and it dose the same thing.
-
I'm so stoked about this! The C-101 has become one of my favorite modules. It just has a feel to it that feels like a light aircraft. I can't wait to fly this jet.
-
I would buy first day.
-
I'd love to see more early cold war jets.
-
Would be cool to kinda randomize it. Have an average but randomly move the margins for upper limit, and fatigue.
-
Apparently they are gonna get to do an A model Fulcrum. But that's about as modern as its gonna get. Truly sad because an SU-30MKI would be ****ing awsome.

The One and only F-104G Starfighter
FlankerKiller replied to 303_Kermit's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Honestly I will buy almost any early cold war era jets up to and through Vietnam. I truly wish we could do in depth simulations of combat operations from that time. Everything from Mustang's to F-4s shared the sky. I also honestly believe that it would give the online players that are tired of SPAMRAMs somewhere to go. Each airframe was unique, and truly had to be flown to its particular strengths to be successful. So yeah I'd buy this. It would go well against the Mig-19, and 21 we already have. -
The ground/sea damage model should become a priority
FlankerKiller replied to nickos86's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Wile it will take time, and is planned, I do hope this comes to fruition. The DM as it stands is from 20 years ago, and is a limiting factor in immersion. While combat aircraft are cool, we need a better world to fly them in. If DCS is to stay interesting and immersive. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
FlankerKiller replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'm sorry but it's a no for me. The Hornet while awsome is just another 4th gen. It's a bit faster, and a bit bigger then the F-18C that me currently have. But doesn't bring new capabilities or weapons. I would much rather see them put their time into a Super Crobra. Or something like that. -
I want it, but because I want to kill it, every day, as soon as I get home. You can kinda do what your talking about with the drones that are currently in game. But yes JTURDS would be very very useful.

AV-8B, A-10C or F/A-18C Hornet. Which one to pick?
FlankerKiller replied to Mr.Scar's topic in DCS 2.9
I have to say the Hornet. It can basically do what the other two can, pluse SEAD, Deep precision strikes, and air to air, and you land on boats. That being said, I do love the AV-8B, just dont feel like you can fully utilize it in DCS. -
And better Naval AI. For the love of Peat. We have AI jets that can maneuver in 3D, organically search and engage targets, abort a mission if threatened, and abort of damaged, with options for engagement distances, and the like. But we can't have ships do that in 2D? I get that ground Combat is really really hard to actually simulate. But Naval units don't pathfind, or use cover, mostly. They're combat isn't that different then air combat really, and best of all there wouldn't ever be that many of them on a map. They need to search and engage large areas, carry out those attacks according to what weapons they have, and react to incoming threats. Again like the aircraft do, but in 2D. And if they're getting to tore up, of massively out matched, they should withdraw. DCS has really gone in on simulating Navel aviation. It would be nice to actually be able to have Naval combat to take part in. Ships need an AI similar to aircraft. And the addition of Chaff, and flares. Killing a warship should be one of the most challenging things to do in game, and honestly it's really frustrating that this aspect is so neglected.
-
How? I've used them, and they maneuver to engage, have destroyable weapons, and other objects on them. From what I saw they are the standard. Meanwhile we have actual LOMAC ships in the Russian line up. Plus few to no support, and Merchant ships. On the subject of LOMAC ships, In some ways they were better. Thay had at least a simple AI. If told to attack a group, they would. Like go off and close, and attack that group. Even if they were placed with no waypoints. So is some ways we need to get back to LOMAC Ships. I 100% agree that all ships Need to come up to modern standards. They should be pleasant to look at, but more importantly they need to have destroyable Weapons, and sensors. It's been a long time since aircraft took down a warship. I imagine at the moment it would be a combination of saturation, and SEAD. Trying to work through those layers of air defenses to get to be able to damage the hull, and actually sink the damn thing. It would be cool if this modeled.

UH-60, it really needs to be ingame as is. But first I would like to see the functionality of the big birds in game improved. One the sling loaded cargo needs to be cargo. Like Ammo should really be ammo. So dropping it into a mortar pit in the mountains should actually affect the mission. Infantry embarking, and disembarking needs to be improved. Maybe some kind of coding that allows you to pick up any infantry with a health of less then 50% from a group, would be cool. Dropping illumination flares should be there. Flying bodies, beans, and bullets into hot zones, and pulling the wounded out is what utility birds bring to the fight. It would be cool to actually be able to do that. Especially with the dynamic campaign coming. And would be especially cool to do it in a modern utility chopper. Although I would prefer the UH-1H verity.

At one time there was a grass strip/emergency airfield in the ME. It never quite worked right, and was removed. But it needs to be revisited. The Harrier, and Viggin are practically useless without it. The Mig-29 was made with improvised airfields in mind. With the coming dynamic campaign, airfields should become smoking creators in the first few missions. Dealing with flights of fighters coming up from almost anywhere would be fun.

Give every plane in DCS a Start on Ground Option.
FlankerKiller replied to Baco's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Even better, creat a lang on ground option. Just give it a direction. -
Hi there, I'm in Eastern Standerd time. I've been flying DCS since it was lock on. Never made it into multi player, but I'm looking to make the Jump. I've been leaning the Hornet since it released, and have the Cat as well. I would love to find a few people to fly, and fight with.
-
Yeah I'm lost as to why FFB went away. I've had it in racing wheels, but never a joystick. With the price of high end sticks, and the community willing to pay for them I don't see why someone doesn't make them.

[NO BUG]RPG soldier AI shot from 500m.
FlankerKiller replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
That's great news. Hopefully we can get more types of units. But yeah, I think the engagement distance is fine. Maybe some kind of option to have the infantry hold fire until they are almost certain of a hit would be a good addition though. -
Reading some of the comments has me confused. We have highly detailed infantry, and it works fine. I was watching a fire fight the other day involving the British soldiers with there bolt guns. They actually cock them. That's pretty detailed. I don't see the issue with wanting the old units brought up to the same standard. Also we definitely need more unit types. Every nation should have riflemen, AT, and some kind of LMG, as well there could be DM, and grenade units. The AI is ok ish. They will move a bit to get a shot. But some basic assault behaviors would go a long way. It doesn't need to be an FPS level of ground AI, but we need a bit more.

I like the idea of paying a one time fee for the DCS program. Maybe give the SU-25T, and the F-5E as the included module. I would gladly pay for the base game if it ment more money going into the core game for features, and units.
