Open a command prompt (win+r->"cmd") and navigate to the dcs world\bin folder. Then run dcs_updater.exe update @openbeta (edit: after the update goes live tomorrow)

need help with translating from swedish to english

Vertical stab (1) and nose (6) pitot tube protectors (I assume they're the usual "Remove before flight" flags) Sounds like some kind of foot fetish :P I'd use "Leg restraints". Connected or attached. 1: It basically means "align plane with runway" 2: Yup. EBK = Efterbrännkammare = afterburner. -
You don't need a separate beta install unless you have to have 1.5.5 for MP servers that haven't bothered with updating. DCS_updater.exe update @releaseupdates your install to the latest release version, and DCS_updater.exe update @openbetaupdates whatever version you have installed, beta or release, to the latest open beta version. ...and you can switch back to the @release if the @openbeta doesn't work as expected.

All new modules, and especially one that also requires some changes to core DCS features (e.g. setting up missile waypoints for the RBS15 in the ME), are launched in the open beta release branch before going "stable". Potentially breaking the stable release branch for users who don't own the Viggen is not something worth risking.

Well, wikipedia does claim that it is a pulse doppler radar, but I haven't found any other sources for this. There are some NASA papers that discuss various modifications of the APQ-153 which mention coherent doppler functionality, but this may be part of the modifications (haven't read the whole document). The lack of any measurement of target speed, and the inability to discern a head-on target from ground clutter in a look down situation makes it very unlikely that it is a pulse doppler radar.

Remove the ship mods in the "dcs world\mods\tech" folder and you should be good to go.
-
Just checking, but have you cleared this with ED/TCF? A talented terrain mod creator was banned from the forums some time ago due to a violation of §4.1b in the DCS EULA.

I agree. With a few strange exceptions, Swedish is quite easy to understand. It's not like it's Danish, which nobody understands (not even the Danes).

***DCS: AJS37 Viggen Now Available for Pre-Order!!***

The Polychop Gazelle was released on 2.0 before 1.5, so it is possible, but not the norm. -
HAH! It's Karl XII all over again :P

[slightly off topic] Sub-caliber training kits are available for several types of shoulder launched anti-armor weapons (rocket propelled grenade launchers and recoilless rifles like the Carl Gustaf etc). They use specially made tracer rounds with ballistic properties that are quite similar to the real thing, so they can be used for cheap training. The sub-caliber devices consist of a complete barrel and breech(w/striker) assembly that mounts in the barrel of the weapon system in question.

No. The 65B is in addition to the Rb75/T. So there will be 3 different Mavs available.
-
Sweden never used the B-Mav., but Cobra has stated that "our" Viggen can carry/use it.

If LNS are going for accurate system simulation we'd have to get some kind of deployable landing system for the mission editor (after all, that's how the system was used IRL). The Ku-band pulse coded TILS signals are nothing like regular ILS, and are completely incompatible. If LNS are willing to sacrifice some accuracy for playability (as with the support for AGM-65Bs), it would be nice to be able to set up the TILS channels for regular ILS/PRMG frequencies as well.

** DCS: AJS-37 WIP Pre-Release Manual Released! **
drPhibes replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
High and low bypass are quite relative terms; the JT8D which the RM8 is based upon is a low bypass airliner engine (compared to the 3-5-10:1 ratios of other airliner engines), but a bypass ratio of 0,96:1 is very high compared to the 0,3-0,6:1 ratios of some modern fighter engines (F404, EJ200, AL31). -
Catnip usually works quite well.

The problem with making a spit attachment for the TM warthog is that there is no additional analog axis available for the brake handle, so you'd have to handle this through an additional USB interface. Not a major issue, but it does complicate things a bit.

As a former owner of an Austin Mini (not this horrible new BWM junk thay call Minis these days), I prefer English made electrical systems to only be activated when needed.

About competition (a 'dear Leatherneck')
drPhibes replied to scaflight's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Just out of curiousity: which actual information do you base this on? I'm not trying to step on your toes here, but I think the fact that LNS have an active duty Mig-21 pilot on the team counts for more than just soneone's opinion on the internet... Please elaborate. Which developer has announced actual plans of making a Mig-23 (except Razbam, who can't)? The fact that RAZ weren't granted a licence does not mean that someone else is making one. There are a multitude of other possible reasons why no licence was granted. Anecdotal evidence and speculation isn't, belive it or not, proof of anything. -
Well, he did answer that three posts above your last post... And I hope BST have more important things on their hands than pointless cosmetic enhancements like that.
-
Has this been stated by ED or LN? I know it's common for most DCS modules to be released this way, but there is at least one exception; the Polychop Gazelle, which had no pre-sale period before release.
-
It seems to have a bit of a nose down attitude on the ground. Perhaps something related to (if there's an imbalance in the suspension parameters for the front and rear oleo struts)
-
I wasn't aware that the cartridge was introduced with the AJS; in that case there are loads of different modern(-ish) methods of data storage (like EEPROMs etc). I guess I'll have to dig deeper into the manuals and see what I can find.
