  1. As a former owner of an Austin Mini (not this horrible new BWM junk thay call Minis these days), I prefer English made electrical systems to only be activated when needed.
  2. Just out of curiousity: which actual information do you base this on? I'm not trying to step on your toes here, but I think the fact that LNS have an active duty Mig-21 pilot on the team counts for more than just soneone's opinion on the internet... Please elaborate. Which developer has announced actual plans of making a Mig-23 (except Razbam, who can't)? The fact that RAZ weren't granted a licence does not mean that someone else is making one. There are a multitude of other possible reasons why no licence was granted. Anecdotal evidence and speculation isn't, belive it or not, proof of anything.
  3. Well, he did answer that three posts above your last post... And I hope BST have more important things on their hands than pointless cosmetic enhancements like that.
  4. Has this been stated by ED or LN? I know it's common for most DCS modules to be released this way, but there is at least one exception; the Polychop Gazelle, which had no pre-sale period before release.
  5. It seems to have a bit of a nose down attitude on the ground. Perhaps something related to (if there's an imbalance in the suspension parameters for the front and rear oleo struts)
  6. I wasn't aware that the cartridge was introduced with the AJS; in that case there are loads of different modern(-ish) methods of data storage (like EEPROMs etc). I guess I'll have to dig deeper into the manuals and see what I can find.
  7. Slightly off topic, but since the data cartridge seems to be a hot topic: does anyone know anything about the real world implementation of the data cartridge? Which type of storage media was used etc.? The main software of the CK37 seems to be stored in magnetic core memory, but that's not a viable solution for something that has to be re-programmable like the data cartridges. Did they use regular magnetic storage (tape/disc) or replaceable OTP PROMs? Or something completely different?
  8. Something related to the HUD. The manual says it's "strömställare slav SI", which seems to select between navigation and targeting modes on the HUD/SI (SI = siktlinjeindikator; "line-of-slght indicator"). Edit: it engages/disengages the LÅGNAV mode, which is a low altitude (<100m) mode that de-cluters the HUD.
  9. Ok, now I just have to do like Cartman in South Park and freeze myself and ask someone to thaw me back up when 2.5 and Normandy is released.
  10. DCS updates always* come in the afternoon (15-18-ish CET), so there's no reason to wear out your F5-button just yet... *) with the odd exception
  11. The medical term for this is Viggdrawal. Seems to be quite common these days.
  12. I'll have a go at it. I can see if I get the time to fire up the virtual paint booth during the weekend.
  13. Most English speaking people seem to think it's pronounced "Meschersmitt" as well, so i wouldn't take too much notice of their lack of German language skills.
  14. As the great Stanhope once said: "I can never be funnier than farts".
  15. I think roadside speed cameras would work well for that purpose (at least if they were radar based and not based on sensors in the road as is the norm these days).
  16. In the early versions you could slam the fuel lever open, but after simulated engine damage was added you need to do it quite slowly.
  17. Probably OT, but it's mostly due to the fuel injector and combustor can design in the J47. Apparently the RR Nene (which the Klimov VK-1 was derived from) was able to produce a comparable(-ish; approximately 16% less) thrust with a less sooty combustor design than the J47.
  18. Great video :) And the missions look fun as well. Hope they'll be available sooner or later.
  19. That's correct. It's probably best to make a JSGME compatible mod out of it for easy reinstallation.
  20. Well, I guess you could always edit the description.lua and fly the Viggen for Norway instead :P (unless you're still angry about the whole Karl XII incident)
  21. Confirmed. However, you could just find the sound files and overwrite the Russian commands with the English ones. I don't think sound files are checked in the integrity check (at least that's the case with the Bf109 sounds I'm using), so it should work for MP as well.
  22. The post-match Viggen airshow/demo starts at approximately 1h, 57m.
  23. Thanks for the update, and keep up the good work!
