With the exception of the nuclear reprocessing facility at La Hague and the fact that the cities have grown a bit in size, Normandy hasn't really changed that much since 1944. Launching Rb05s at ships or RB75s at Soviet tanks should be just as fun in Normandy as it is in Georgia.

+1 as the kids say these days. I've been using the doppler nav for a few days, and it's an excellent system. Noting down waypoints with bearings and distances adds a bit more immersion to the whole DCS experience than just following a line on a display. GPS = cheating :P But I can't say that I won't use the moving map display in the Mi-24 when it arrives (whenever that may be).

Several of the files in the Coremods/AJS37 and mods/AJS37 folders have been updated, so at least something has changed.

Garmin GNS 430: That'll be a nice addition for those of us who have never bothered learning the doppler navigation system in the Mi8 :)

The thing about the Viggen is that most relevant information is easily available from the Swedish national archives. This is NOT the case with the various upgraded export versions of the F-5E/F. There are flight manuals and weapons delivery manuals for the F-5E available, but these do not cover anything featured in the upgraded versions of the F5. System information and and operational manuals for US made equipment is controlled under ITAR arms export regulations, and are not simply given out to a Belarusian company that wants to sell an entertainment product to flight sim geeks like us.

I don't know about the M2000 in particular, but in general; transmit mode = range only, receive mode = bearing only and T/R = both. As explained in the Mudspike article, TACAN is basically a military VOR+DME. A DME requires bidirectional communication between the interrogator (aircraft) and transponder (ground station), while VOR receivers just receive the FM+AM VOR signals and compares the phase between the demodulated carrier and sideband in order to get the bearing to the station. For the simple A/A mode (with just ranging) one aircraft acts a DME interrogator, while the other one acts as the transponder.

There's no pleasing some folks. If Normandy was only sold as a complete package, people would be complaining about the price and asking for the option of buying it without the period AI.

That's the only fault I've seen so far. Can't re-arm the vigg. Haven't tested that with any other planes yet. Edit: re-arming the F86 works.

I just set up a simple mission at North Vegas, and tested ramp start, parking (hot) and runway. All mods disabled. Fuel set at 100% in the ME. Ramp start: - The gear was down on mission start. - Everything started up as expected. - ~100% fuel according to the gauge - Takeoff was normal. Radar works when airborne. Parking (hot): - Gear down - Fuel: 100% - Radar works Runway: - As above. No problems. Air start (multiplayer, AO server): - Everything works as expected. I did all the same tests with the Bf109, and the fuel load was 100% in all cases. I also tested the Spitfire in MP (AO server) with no fuel-related problems.

IIRC, it just omits the first digit in the longitude, so 115° = 15° etc. Otherwise it should be identical to the way we use it in the Caucasus.
