I'm not talking about the mobile ZSU-23-4, but the non-mobile version that are almost impossible to see and don't come up on your RWR. They are deadly because unless a JTAC or someone warns you about them you have no chance of seeing them. Even the muzzle flashes are hard to spot unless you are looking straight at it - I find the ZSU-23-4 much easier find and kill. How do you guys find and dispatch this type of AA?

DCS is so confusing when it comes to wind direction. Last night a JTAC gave me the wind direction - 200 degrees 7m/s. Turns out it was the direction wind was blowing TO. Is this correct? I've only know wind direction based on where it's blowing from. As for m/s, is this standard too? I would have thought n Knots would be more appropriate. Confused :huh:

What ... there are still people using a monitor and TrackIR? VR is mind-blowing, the future, and a incredible advancement for our hobby. The Oculus Rift and DCS is an incredible experience. After 15 months, I still get that amazing feeling when I go flying in DCS. It is so close to real-life flying.

There is head movement after carrier landing shown in the latest trailer: at 2.12 Might be a bit nauseating in VR though

I sure hope so. The shimmering with all those trees in Normandy without AA in VR is pretty bad.

What tracks? And where are these stored? I haven't noticed my SSD filling up.

Looks really good. I wonder if there has been improvement in the night lighting due to this map being re-worked. Any chance of some info there and/or a comparison shot?

Redundancy...for when the HUD fails. Would you prefer to read the HUD data on a MFD or analogue dials?

Hi guys, really enjoying this software. I think the landing gear effect and gun is great! A couple of questions though: 1) what does the wheel blocking effect do? I can't seem to find any info in the guide that explains the effects. 2) The only effect I can't get working is turbulence. Tried it out with different planes, DCS 1.5 and 2.0 and turbulence set to maximum. Turbulence box is checked also. Any ideas? BTW, I'm using the sound module with buttkicker, and not the jetseat.

No problem in 1.5 either. 2.1 is super bright and everything is very shiny.

No it doesnt change steerpoints...nothing happens. Try it for yourself. The rocker switch +- works on the waypoint info page and Offset page cycling waypoints, but on the waypoint sub-page it does nothing. How do you cycle through the waypoint database on this page?

Could someone tell what the reason is for not being able to cycle waypoints with the +- rocker switch on the waypoint sub-page when AAP STEER PT rotary is set to FLIGHTPLAN (as mentioned in the manual)?

Same problem. I switched to guard and left it there for the rest of the mission. Never got the opportunity to communicate with the down pilot again. After 5 times I ended up skipping the mission

OK. Kind of makes sense. Would be nice if msi afterburner gave a better display of what is really going on. That would explain in missions with heaps of AI the frame rates are dropping and are pretty inconsistent. Also, I think there is a performance bug reported for 1.5.7 so it explains the poor frames.

Ok...that worked. Thanks! Quick question, is it possible to miss a transmission 'on guard frequency' while temporarily switching over frequency to talk to wingman to give orders?

Its more of a problem doing aggressive rolls like a pop-up gun attack...maybe its more noticeable in VR. If I try to help the SAS with a bit of rudder it doesn't work out very well and is not intuitive. Do some turns without any rudder inputs and watch what the 'ball' and/or the nose does during the whole maneuver - rolling in and out and different rates and G's.
