  1. Wind has no affect on IAS. It should be the same value no matter what the wind is doing.
  2. Wow.. that looks amazing. I agree with the OP... Night lighting could do with some attention.
  3. Good news chaps. Pimax is demoing DCS with their latest prototype 8k headset at CES next week. : http://forum.pimaxvr.com/t/ces-2018-demo-details/4891
  4. OK.. figure it out now. Turns out to move your eyepoint you have to HOLD DOWN the key! I was pressing it which moves the eyepoint but is the motion is not detectable - unless you HOLD it. All making sense now that I have that part figure out. Thanks for your help!
  5. Numlock is On. I can save a snapview (e.g. Num 5) but its different from the default view. Still not sure how to save the deault view. And can't change position using key commands (currently mapped to the cockpit camera move up/down/left/right) - does nothing.
  6. What is the default snapview key? I dont normally use snapviews.
  7. I can't even change position. These commands, although mapped, don't do anything: RCTRL + RSHFT + KP4,2,6,8 = Moves your eyepoint L,D,R,U respectively RCTRL + RSHFT + KP*, KPMinus = Moves your eyepoint fore and af What snapview button are you talking about?
  8. Yep..the commands in sec 1 didn't work (even though they are mapped) and is what prompted me to make this post.
  9. OK, this issue has been plaguing me on and off for ages. Maybe its a VR thing but I cant seem to move my eyepoint around and save my default view. None of the key commands (cockpit camera move/camera view move) seems to do anything. And which file gets changed - snapviews?, defaultSnapVIews? in saved games folder? or the DCS World folder? So could some one give me please a step-by-step dummies guide to saving default views in VR DCS. Primarily I want to move my view back/forward and up/down depending on the aircraft and saving that view so I don't have to do it again. Cheers!
  10. Id also like the ability to resize the HUD display. For example, if you are seated in the correct position in the A10 you lose a good portion of the HUD.
  11. The issue with importing windows with DASH is you can't resize and move them around from within DCS. I wonder if this will be feasible down the track?
  12. Great to hear in the most recent newsletter 29/12/17 that VR is getting some improvements in the coming year. Personally, my VR wishlist for 2018 is: -Ability to teleport around the environment similar to xplane's recent implementation -Ability to import windows and interact with them (resize, scroll). Oculus dash allows this but is limited in functionality at the moment. -Pilot body's for those planes that don't have them e.g. A10c -Ability to write on a kneeboard or even better the canopy to write down notes such as the 9-line brief (Just like the real A-10 pilots). May require finger tracking - see below. -finger tracking/controller support. Although still a little clunky, but as other sims have shown, the ability to use controllers/fingers to flick switches/turn dials etc is a pretty compelling experience. I see this only getting better in the near future. It wont be long before we see finger tracking as a standard feature of future headsets. -Avatars synced in multiplayer. This is a long shot but when me and a buddy land after a multiplayer flight - it would be awesome if we could hop out of the plane and walk/teleport to a Bar/Room at each airport/carrier and debrief the flight. So the ability to brief/debrief/chat socially with synced avatars WITHOUT leaving DCS would be pretty awesome. What are your wishes for VR in DCS for 2018 and beyond?
  13. Don't waste your time with this movie. Can't believe the hype it was getting.
  14. Yep..this is my number one issue along with HUD scaling. If you sit in the proper seat position you lose alot of the HUD. A pilot body would be nice. Also, down the track with finger/controller tracking the ability to write on a kneeboard or even better the canopy would be awesome for writing down info such as 9 line briefs
  15. Well that's not officially happening until at least 2019
  16. I love the pilot body implementation in the p51. Would love to see this in the A10
  17. I really enjoyed this campaign. Quick and pretty easy. Very suited to the A10 pilot has just finished all the instant action missions and wants to play their first campaign
  18. I'm surprised the radar knob goes into OPR instead of STBY
  19. I will be watching this a few times I reckon! Couple of questions...how do you hold down the FCS reset button with the mouse and click the other button (FCS bit test I think it was) at the same time? Also, what does sv1 and sv2 refer to on the FCS page?
  20. Given that I fly different aircraft, they wouldn't match up with the aircraft
  21. Anyone using these in VR: http://mobile.thrustmaster.com/node/626 Do you recommend them?
  22. Fantastic!! We need to get those hands/arm in VR after seeing that!
  23. Good to hear!
  24. It's unrealistic except in an emergency or very short field to apply full brake. Upon touchdown apply full speed brake and keep nose wheel off ground as long as possible. Once nose wheel on the ground brake lightly only if needed. See if you can avoid using the brake at all by using the above technique! Ohh, make sure your final approach is at the correct AoA so that your not coming in too fast.
  25. Good to know. What AA settings did you have? My buddy and I find performance takes a nose dive with AA and deferred shading on in 2.1
