Post MotherBoard Specs Of Bricked TM Warthogs Here Please
SinusoidDelta replied to twobells's topic in Thrustmaster
Throttle bricked today Gigabyte Z77 motherboard (Who are we kidding? This has nothing to do with motherboards.) Purchased new in 2014. Very frustrated considering the other quality issues. When considering the price, it’s just a joke. I’ll never purchase another TM product. -
Or the W key in the su-27?

I think missile performance will always be a somewhat educated guess. Regarding the differences between iterations: The largest change for the bravo was a reprogrammable EEPROM allowing guidance logic to be continuously improved. While the specific guidance code for the AMRAAM is secret, the fundamentals of guidance and control is very well documented in (fairly expensive) textbooks. As I've said before, applying those techniques would be reasonable even if it isn't explicitly known to be a part of the guidance logic. IMO a wiki page dedicated to military aircraft could be really helpful. I've ammassed a small library of documents over the years. Here is some further reading on the AMRAAM: http://www.e-haf.org/PublicFTP/BIBLIO8HKH/Weapons/f4_AIM-120.pdf

Very interesting. I was surprised it uses the Oculus rift displays and reflects another display on top of them.

I'm all for having a wide missiles from different eras. Unfortunately (as probad mentioned) the missiles we have now are underperforming. I'd gladly take an AIM-120A with accurate performance over the AIM-120C we currently have (It'd still be a net performance gain). But as I understand it the dev's have a lot on their plates and missiles aren't near the top of their list. AFAIK there isn't an official statement from ED on what to expect in the coming months/years with regards to missiles. Hopefully once the Hornet nears release that will change :D

Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
SinusoidDelta replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
Welp, this is pretty much game breaking for me. In a server like the 104th where exports are disabled why is there a need for a 10 minute delay at all? -
Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
SinusoidDelta replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
I had trouble with my export script as well but just got tacview working again. This is my first time using it since the 10 minute playback delay feature has been added. I replayed a several day old track from the 104th and the portion I wanted analyze occurred during the last 10 minutes of the track which apparently is not accessible. My question is, will the last 10 minutes of 104th multiplayer tracks always be unavailable even if I'm replaying the track on my own local machine? And if the track is less than 10 minutes no playback at all will be available? Could someone please clarify? -
Mig-29 canopy glass opacity too high
SinusoidDelta replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Here's another iteration for the MiG-29 cockpit glass. I lowered the alpha a bit more. Testing on NTTR I don't see much glare or reflection but there's a blue hue to the transparency that I can't figure out how to remove. Let me know if you see any difference. https://www.dropbox.com/s/lxy8021i2wa4366/MIG-29-13-CPT-TEXTURES%20v3%20glass.zip?dl=0 -

Roger that. Let me know if you find anything on your end. I'll have another look at the textures later to see if I missed something. Sure, I can make an attempt! Thanks for the info. I'll post something soon. -

This is great news. It looks wonderful in the video Jabbers. Can't wait!

Mig-29 canopy glass opacity too high
SinusoidDelta replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
I made the same mistake with the Su-27 textures  Both times I was in a rush and just right clicked the folder and click send to archive. Sorry about that. Is the glass reflection improved? Edit: Here is the corrected zip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrjgr8stp78kkaj/MIG-29-13-CPT-TEXTURES_2_fixed.zip?dl=0 -
Mig-29 canopy glass opacity too high
SinusoidDelta replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Hmm...Is it displaying the missing texture skin on the whole canopy or whole cockpit? I tested in NTTR 2.1 without any errors. -
That's odd. I was just flying the F-15 yesterday. Trim was working at least in the forward/aft directions. I don't remember doing any trimming in the left/right directions. The controls indicator was working fine for me as well with rctrl+enter. I'd double check your key binds and make sure they're correct without any conflicts on the same commands. Also check the trim hat left/right is actually working in Windows game controllers.

Mig-29 canopy glass opacity too high
SinusoidDelta replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
I don't have the Normandy map to test this out on. Put the one below in Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Cockpit\Textures Save a backup copy of your current cockpit textures .zip in another folder. Rename the .zip from MIG-29-13-CPT-TEXTURES_2.zip to MIG-29-13-CPT-TEXTURES.zip Let me know if you see any difference. https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrjgr8stp78kkaj/MIG-29-13-CPT-TEXTURES_2_fixed.zip?dl=0 -
Same with me. I want a Strike Eagle more than any other module, spare a full fidelity F-15C
-
Well it is advice specific to BFM/ACM setup with the F-15 starting in a defensive position. It sounds like the advice is implying that, in an energy depleted state, the F-15 has the potential to regain energy at a faster rate than the f-14.

Beginners Guide to DCS World Aircraft Mods
SinusoidDelta replied to RedBeard2's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
The "Enable Animations" in model viewer is just a while loop that increments argument number from i=1 through i=1000 (i.e., it just cycles every possible argument from -1 to 1). The default script itself is located in config/modelviewer/defaultanimations.lua I imagine you could replace that code with your own custom code. -
Excessive HUD and Instruments glare?
SinusoidDelta replied to Breakshot's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Thanks for the clarification and information Bourrinopathe. You can see how little stick time I have in the Flanker. Learn something new every day :book: I also hope the FC3 jets get some PBR treatment. I'd love to have a proper P-42 or Streak Eagle in all its bare titanium reflecting glory. I'll go back and check the textures out. It appears I incorrectly edited one or more trying to soften the reflections. -
Excessive HUD and Instruments glare?
SinusoidDelta replied to Breakshot's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
I see that. I had to look in the DCS flight manual to see what instrument is supposed to be there. Assuming we're talking about the same area, the texture appears to be missing in the flight manual as well? -
[BUG] Su27 blank compass in cockpit

You can try using the cockpit textures in this post as a temporary fix. -

+1 Please do! :) -
Just to clarify, you're talking about the canopy glass reflection? If so then try replacing the cockpit textures .zip (in Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Cockpit\Textures) with the one linked below. I lowered the alpha channel of the glass reflections .dds file. I haven't had a chance to test it out yet. Let me know if it makes your problem better or worse  https://www.dropbox.com/s/tf3uo7zg6lkv6cs/Glass%20Tweak%20A_10C_C_EDM_TEX.zip?dl=0
