Hi SkateZilla, I would be very interested to know more about the new PBR "how to". I'm very pround ED is in PBR effect too as all nowadays big sim is ( XPlane11 - AFS2 ...) . a must have for all modern sim. but often also for this big sims, it's difficult to find learning stuff how to deal with PBR for user made skin. really hope DCS ( or you ) can teach us how to deal with. If the guide and effect can be understandable and give similar effect on all aircrafts no matter original 3ds model, there will be no problem to redo the specular file if it worth it. :smartass:

I used to have my perso kneeboard pages in F:\savedgame2016\DCS.openalpha\kneeboard so will I have my perso added Nellis Approach charts SID STAR in Normandy also ? ;-( any idea ? maybe using DCS_World_2\Mods\terrains\Nevada\Kneeboard with JSGME ? but does it still work with specific aircraft kneeboad page insides ? also for liveries I use for added and perso skins F:\savedgame2016\DCS.openalpha\Liveries any Ideas for specific WWII - Normandy skins ?

here it is : https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3087762&postcount=3 be aware it's very personal taste depending of your joystick sensibility and feeling just to conteract the "short joystick" and not so precise midle zone. I think it's good to master the spit and to ease formation flying and landing of course the more you feel confortable, the more you can decrease the curvature

Yes. Have the same stick. The only axes too much sensitiv is the pitch for me Roll and yaw are ok and curvature linear On the pitch axes do a huge 45% curvature and a litle deadzone of 3 or 5 You can also on pitch do a 80% on y part of the curvature Also on the manifold pressure slider I did a special setting to have more precision on low pressure for landing and fight against torque effects So far with this settings. It s perfect for dogfights aerobatics and precise 3 points landings.

"can simffb.exe thing also be used for dcs?" of course. here it is, give it a try. select your "trim" button in TrimFFB great alternative. here it is. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1628706&postcount=43

with simFFB.exe you can also simulate the level of friction.

for sure it's because you have the "back to center option" unckeck it! it's only for no FFB stick. for me, I'll never go for an other joystick than FFB2, just because of the awesom Trim function for helo. it stays where it is trimed ....sooo good. ( same as freeware simFFB.exe for other sim like XP11.) be aware there is a sensor LED which detect if your hand is on stick. If no hand is detected ( like a Two finger hover) force feedback is off. once your hand is detected force feedback is back.

What tactics work with the spitfire?
snowsniper replied to Campbell's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
here my tips for the Spit IX : I) first of all practice standard touch and go and adjust your curves my curves on Pitch : is 35 curvature and 7 on deadzone. on roll : no curvature or just a few no deadzone on rudder : curvature 10 no deadzone ( you need a predictable response for this one so don't touch it too much) on Manifold pressure : curvature 50 slider ( invert or not depends on your joystick response, the idea is to have fine tune on low pressure, for landing without too much torque effect ) set game special spit settings helper to 0 as i feel it more difficult for the aircraft to be predictable with this set to anything else 0. set your fuel to half. II) practice standard aerobatics once on straight flight, once trimed, on a standard setting of 12 MFP and 2600-2700 RPM once your speed is > 250 and piper on horizon you can perform standard aerobatics usefull in combat. III) Fight against 190 and 109 AI first You can set them heavy with full fuel, armed or not. and increase difficulty the more you feel confortable 1) FAQ : the 190 always go far away faster than me : just put the piper below the horizon you will gain some speed, don't touch rudder, (it will make you lose some speed sort of a sideway ). set Manifold to 12 adjust RPM between 2500-2700. if the 190 turn, cut the turn with a little of rudder inside the turn. better to gain some speed with the pipper below horizon and then pop up in his 6. 2) FAQ : the 109 alway go very high turn and cross me front : go immelman, once vertical do a roll to grab the same heading as your target, use more rudder than against a 190 ... practice is the key. as a basic tip : keep your speed and energy as much as possible, as soon you shoot it, go to cruise setting to cold the motors, fly high and practice the boom & zoom technique. spit can also do it. If you're followed in your six : do a barrel roll + an other aerobatic ( without losing too much speed except if your aim is to have it in your 12 on final . if you're going to overshoot target, do also a barrel rool or do a larger turn than your target does. once again practice is the key. -

you're welcome also, there are different script helper engine. as said above, which can spawn object. different way and approach. Mist, Moose, etc... and also ATME script engine. see this thread if you want to experiment more ( numerous easy exemple, and awesome reference manuel both english and french available ) It's perfect for noob in lua like me. here it is : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179992

just thinking, and throw an other idea looking at the vid. maybe you have an other process on the same priority thread, i've ever had a probleme like that, can't really remember , but it was something like facetracknoIr + FSX, once I moved one of the two on a second priority thread processor all was OK have a look on other program working at the same time
