Thanks. If you served, thanks for your service!

Thanks. Having had family who served and fought, it makes me proud to honor them as well as everyone else.

I really wanted to do something short and special for Memorial Day, but was wracking my brain to figure out what. I decided to make a missing man formation flyby over Sukhumi with the F-15C. None of my usual commentary, just the game sounds, and of course "Taps". For all of you in the community who served, THANK YOU. For all who never returned home, this one is also for you. R.I.P. and Thank you. Drew "Bel Geode" Bolton

Check your switches on the right side, and make sure they are all on. I did that once, where I forgot to turn on the circuit for the weapons system and it took me about 10 minutes of cursing at my screen to realize i forgot that. Are you using C or ZA? Cause the switch layout is slightly different as I am sure you may have noticed.

Not yet, but give me time, I'll get there eventually. If it can break it, I will likely end up doing it... accidentally of course.

Some really good questions and everyone has had some really good answers too. Here's my 2 cents from the last year or two that I have been playing DCS World. I use the Saitek X-52. I want for no other joystick, not even the X-55. It accomplishes what I need in all the aircraft I fly (including the helos). I use the X rotator as my rudder control, as opposed to the twist grip, since i do not have rudder pedals, nor do I feel I need them. The X rotator is where my thumb naturally rests on my left hand, so it is perfect for that for me. Real aircraft still use rudder pedals. We are not THAT advanced yet. Regarding landings, practice, practice, practice. You will get better over time. As suggested before, pick one plane, learn it, then move on to another plane and learn it. I personally love online play, but I do not do it often enough because I am usually recording single player missions for YouTube. I would like to get online more often with multiplayer, perhaps in the future. It is definitely more challenging because AI can largely be predicted. A human opponent cannot. I have had a lot more fun online than offline (single player), but the benefit for me with single player is as I said before... I know where everything will be so it makes it easier to plan out a video episode. As for links, YouTube is your friend. A LOT of us have videos up going over every detail of any plane or helo you desire to learn about. I would say also to play around with Combat Arms. Learn how the ground forces interact and what their limitations are. It will definitely help when you decide to create your own missions, plus it is so cool to play armchair general, when you do not feel like actually flying a sortie. Either way, good luck!! Blue skies to you!

Hey Lt.Seahawk, I just featured Flat Iron last week in my DCS YouTube episode. She performed well and looked beautiful!

Not sure if it is, but I did find a way to transform L-39C skins to L-39ZA. (It just involves some quick replacing of some of the text in the texture.cfg file. So now any skin I get for the C will now work for the ZA

Awesome guide, thank you for this. It helped me immensely!

Good deal there. I love animated crew!

I love that Starfighters livery! Not a squadron you hear too much about but they always looked kickarse!

Oooh one of my favorite Navy helos! I hope this ends up happening. It'd be great to fly it here as well as in FSX Steam.

Yeah that's their hometown, so depending on what time of year you are there, seeing the Angels is like a real treat. I absolutely love the Pensacola Naval Air Museum. If I had the money to travel right now, I would love to go back. When I was there, I also got to see some nuggets graduate!

BlackLion213. I have been there. It was one of the best experiences of my life to be able to sit in that cockpit. Naturally I had my girlfriend at the time take pictures of me in it LOL! I then told her to pull the car up around back and I would wheel it out to take home and hook up to my flight sim, but she declined as the car was not big enough.

Leatherneck Q1 Development Update - Part I

Dog 102 checking in! Where are we needed and who are we splashing? -
This. Most definitely this. I have been dying for a good chinook to fly around. The model looks great in DCS, but I need to be in the pilot's seat of this bad boy.

CRIMEA - Kirovskoye and Kersch-Bagerovo Please
Belgeode replied to dooom's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Is there that much of an impact on performance for areas that are too far to be rendered? Say for example if I am flying over Turkey, surely it is too far to render Batumi, let alone the Crimean peninsula. I am curious how that all works in DCS. But for the record, I agree, I would love to see Crimea AND Turkey as part of the map. I do not like the empty areas. -
Very impressed, and I have not even seen the texturing yet!! Video????

Leatherneck Q1 Development Update - Part I
Belgeode replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Woohoo, she is coming together nicely!!! I love all the fine details in the hydraulics of the spoilers and flaps. I can only imagine what this will look like fully skinned! Keep it up LNS, and let us know if you have any video so we can get a glimpse at how she flies! -
Why are you forming a new line? We've already been standing in this one for months. One thing I would really love to see/have, especially in MP, is the ability to be air boss. I wanna be in PriFly overlooking the controlled chaos on deck, with another player at the LSO position, while our boys and girls are coming home or going out on sorties.

I still love the Su-33 the best out of that family of aircraft, simply because of the naval aspect, but I have really started to take a shine to the MiG-29 since the facelift in the cockpit. I don't think I need a separate entity, because I am sure it will be upgraded within FC3, but then I bought FC3 after getting the Su-27 and the F-15 separately because it had the other planes in it.

I would definitely volunteer for that.

"Dog 201, tomcat ball, 4.3" has a nice ring to it...
