  1. I would benefit greatly from that! In the short time since November last year I seem to have a pretty firm grasp on using ME, but where I need some serious 101 is in lua scripting. So far the most I can do is mod label scripts, and the radio menu... oh and adding back in the Su-27 and F-15 icons and wallpaper to my lineup.
  2. Woot! I can vouch for this one. It has been pretty fun to play!!
  3. Saitek changed their driver format some time back. I am not sure if the old ones can be converted to the new format. You may have to redo your profile. Sorry. I had to do it as well when I started using DCS.
  4. I am very curious to know the answer to this one as well. As far as I had been able to research, I have not found a way just using mission editor, but admittedly, I have not delved into heavy duty scripting.
  5. Oh I will be sharing the heck out of this. Thanks so much Ranger!
  6. Wow. Just... WOW! And I thought landing a virtual Mi-8 on a stopped Frigate was rough. I have ZERO room to complain any more!! LOL! Nice landing there.
  7. That seems to be a common occurrence sadly. One workaround I use is at the waypoint JUST before they are set to land, I tell them to get into an open trail formation. The time they use to separate is sometimes enough for one to land before the other.
  8. The only way I KNOW OF (which is not to say the only way EVER) is to set trigger zones around the buildings you want destroyed at the start of the mission then set a trigger for it like this. condition- TIME MORE THAN 1 action- EXPLOSION (name of airport trigger zone), altitude of 1, intensity of 1000 or maybe even 5000 for a really big boom. I actually made a couple missions where I wanted either an airport or a bridge to start in the destroyed condition. That was how I pulled it off. There may be other ways to do it, but that was what worked for me.
  9. As seen on my youtube channel... I have had viewers of my weekly DCS World series on youtube request that I make the "Dyavoly squadron" skin for the Su-33 available for download. I had not really thought about doing so till now, but it is up there now, if you would like. It goes without saying, you need Flaming Cliffs 3 for this to be of value to you. I created this skin mod because I wanted a fictional squadron to represent "the most elite Russian naval fighter group", which I have been portraying in my videos. The skin is loosely based on the real life livery of the Kazakhstan Air Force's Su-34 fighter/bombers, with some creative license on my part. In my videos I use two variants. Dyavoly Gold (Air to Air tasked planes), and Dyavoly Green (Air to Ground tasked planes). The links to both follow. Enjoy! P.S.- My youtube name is also Belgeode. 10. Well done. Those two mods are must haves in my opinion for anyone flying the Hip (unless of course you already understand cyrillic.) That scenery mod is nothing short of amazing. What's next on the mission making agenda Socket7?
  11. Cool beans, I will be sure to watch. I won't bother to count the uhs and ahms though... I do the same thing. Edit- You REALLY should make this public, Socket7. This was VERY VERY informative!
  12. I am glad you are still working on this Nyt! This will be awesome when we have LNS A/B versions AND your D versions to choose from!
  13. I had this happen on a couple of occasions. What I did to fix it was disable the Zoom function. (I generally prefer to use the scroll wheel to zoom in and out, rather than getting physically close to the monitors.)
  14. Well, my day has been made. Thanks Leatherneck Sims.
  15. Sorry I am just seeing this now. Going to download your mission and check it out. It's been a while since I took "Helga" (my Su-25T) up for a spin. I'll report back later. o7
  16. I feel your pain. I have not gotten into the whole scripting thing yet. (It's still a little daunting for me).
  17. AFAIK it is still not working. The workaround I have been using involves spawning groups of soldiers if the proper trigger conditions are met (unit not moving, unit altitude lower than, unit vertical speed range in limits, etc). I really hope this gets some love sometime, along with cargo objects. Those are still not working right for me either.
  18. Oh man is that ever sweet and sexy looking... and with multiplayer cockpits coming soon™, that would be perfect!
  19. I second that notion. The harrier would be a very unique platform not often seen in simulation, let alone at the level DCS could do. I'd also add in the Russian Yak counterpart to the harrier.
  20. It was not recognizing the health of it before either. I was doing tests on it a few weeks ago and could not get it to trigger any of the messages and indicators that it recognized anything other than the initial "alive" state.
  21. I agree with the above sentiments on waiting for sales. I picked up MOST of the modules that way, and do not regret it. I just wish I knew WHAT I could spend this 12 bucks I have accrued on??? Maybe I will put it towards Leatherneck's Tomcat fund. LOL!
  22. Hey Wrecking Crew. Yeah thanks, I already use that system you linked above. Good deal.. does not make it any easier for me to remember numbers though. Just makes me more organized so that when I FORGET what number I have set to what, I have a starting place to look it up. And yeah, I dunno about anyone else but I name EVERY unit. Makes life easier for me in the end.
  23. Rough mission, but doable. What I did was send my wingman out to tangle with the F-4s that spawned in first. I had the trailer targeted but the missile I shot was wasted, because my wingman had him tagged by the time I got my shot in his neighborhood. When the F-15s came to investigate I took them out one by one and zeroed in on the AWACS. They had their jammers on (mistake number 1), and they did not cover each other well, but I set MY wingman to "cover me". The first Eagle decided to head into the mountains for some ungodly reason. I took him out with a radar guided missile. While that was going on, Eagle two shot a couple AMRAAMs at us, which I avoided. We merged, he flew past, I banked into him, and tagged him with a heatseeker (R-27ET actually). Once he was down, it did not take long to find that AWACS at all and make a beeline for him. I sent my wingman after the Falcons that then spawned and I just went full burners till I caught up with AWACS. There was NO WAY IN HELL I was gonna get distracted from the AWACS by those two Vipers. A minute later, and two missiles made sure AWACS was never landing again. By the time I finished with the AWACS, wingman had already popped a Falcon. I tagged the last one as he was egressing from us. He just kinda flew right into it. It was brilliant. Of course the downside? Since I am SO USED to the Su-33, and totally forgot this is a different flight model, after my victory I managed to crash the jet just short of Beslan's runway. HAHAHAHAHA! Pilot error!! Sadly, no video, but I can try it again later and see if I do as well. It took me like 5 tries to get this win, and that first time was HORRIBLE. I was totally NOT prepared to take on any enemies at all. If I run this later I might make some mods to the miz. I really wanna try it as my fictional "Dyavoly Squadron" Su-33 that I fly for my youtube vids. If I end up doing that, I WILL record this. Great mission sir. I played the original version, as well as did my own take on it months ago with the Su-33, but I really liked the way you did this one. Made it feel really satisfying when that AWACS goes ka-boom, after all the hell it took to get to it.
  24. This sounds like a challenge I would like to try. Although initially it sounds like HELL, if your fighters are all 2 ships, then in theory we have enough missiles for them all... provided we use them well. If it were my call, I would sacrifice two missiles for those ECM pods. There's a good chance we'd be going against AMRAAMs or Sparrows in that bunch of bandits. Gonna clicky the link and download this. I'll let you know how I like it.
  25. That would be a really cool idea. I'd go for it... Then I only have to remember what flag number I have assigned to what.
