  1. Thanks for looking into this NL! Totally reasonable explanation imo.
  2. Eh, that way of thinking doesn't really fit in DCS. ED doesn't design things to make it a "better fit", they go for realism above all else. Now, that realism is what is being questioned here, they won't just add the north arrow because we want it, nor should they unless we can prove it's incorrect in game.
  3. Nice! Looking forward to getting this in my hands.... or on my fingers in this case. :)
  4. Yep, hopefully the current beta testers are providing that feedback. So far none of the folks that have been putting out videos of the SC have impressed me with their ability to fly a correct pattern (with the exception of Wags who is a great pilot).
  5. I hope this is just another "EA" or "tweaking" thing... but it's strange if they don't have a working LSO for even the EA release....
  6. I am liking my setup at the moment. VKB MCG Pro joystick Warthog Throttle with detent mod installed Crosswind Pedals
  7. Saw this on hoggit, it may help you all out: The bug is that SURV (E3 or E2) is contributing all targets as friendlies. Vipers and Hornets are contributing targets with the correct ID. There's 2 ways to get around it: In the HSD CNTL page, you can toggle SURV off. This means that you will only get targets from other Vipers and Hornets, however they will be the correct hostile/friendly ID. If you want to preserve SURV contributions, all that's necessary to see who is a friendly and who isn't is to IFF interrogate with TMS left. Friendlies will show the correct response, hostiles will not. In a way, this should in theory actually reduce tk, since until the fix rolls out everything is a friendly by default until confirmed hostile.
  8. While I understand what you are saying just because we are in a pandemic that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to complain about a product. Not to mention a lot of the... concern (from me included) isn't the delay... it's more the communication again. We were told not long ago that the SC was delayed because things aren't released during a sale... but it was ready? Clearly that wasn't accurate.
  9. Family > Anything else. Sorry to hear Cobra and hope everything turns out ok.
  10. Welcome to DCS World folks!
  11. Anyone figure out how to make the kneeboard just display on the main monitor?
  12. I am fine and understand the delay, it happens with development. But I am annoyed that ED tries to make this out to be them not able or willing to launch a product during a sale..that's ridiculous.
  13. I was thinking, instead of doing what most of us do and just hiding the pilot body... would it be possible for ED to implement the pilot arms fading out when we look at them to reach switches? Might add a bit to immersion, not that our body parts fade in real life but it would be better than not seeing the pilot body at all imo.
  14. The tanker appears if you zoom in, sorta like contrails, etc. :/
  15. Still an issue. Is this a DCS bug or an F14 bug?
  16. Mover did a video on this:
  17. IIRC there had to be 5 or more players for the issue to show? I may be wrong.
  18. Or a tick mark in the server browser that is unchecked by default.. and when you click on it you get a warning... yea something like that would be a good reminder to folks.
  19. This imo is absolutely it. There are few of them and they do work hard and are good at what they do. You simply cannot find the amount of issues that 100s or 1000s of different open beta are able to find due to hardware differences, load put on servers, and simply more eyes/combinations of different ways they implement weapons, etc.
  20. It's really a double edged sword for ED as well as the community. Because the open beta is so popular in MP (more popular than the release version I would argue) a lot of the bugs are found and reported to ED. The other side of that is.... there are a lot of bugs because it is an open beta. You aren't going to find the amount of bugs that are currently found by the community if the open beta were to be blocked or if it became much less popular... and that means those bugs have a much higher chance of making it to the release version.... then we are right back where we started, but this time the open beta "excuse" (for lack of a better term, I don't mean to suggest ED uses it an as excuse, but you know what I mean) isn't available. In the end I think what we have now isn't a bad solution, people just sometimes need to be reminded that they are playing an open beta - plus it gives ED the loosely named "excuse" I mentioned above for those bugs to be present. Will we sometimes get a very broken release? Yes, but I argue a lot of that is found because of the popularity of open beta.
  21. Sounds to me like the dampeners are catching a bit... try backing them all the way off?
  22. I think his point is you should still be able to use the center boom as well.
  23. See thread here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=263368
  24. There is no other game I (and my friends) play every weekend, almost without a miss. Even with all the challenges there is no better game out there.
