Currently, DCS F-16 RWR is the DCS F-18 RWR. At least, I do not recognize anything belongings to the F-16 except the "look". Remember that DCS F-16 is a very very early stage WIP. Very few of the simulated systems are accurate yet.

Hi! Yep. Nope. That is not how the ALR-56 is working. Sound are not synthetic. The pilot (unless VERY VERY VERY accustomed to a given a/c) will not really be able to identify on a/c from another. Sound will chance a lot depending on modes ... actual PRF, scan ... etc ...

What Frederf and Bouli describes is standard for most (if not all) aircraf using and hybridised INS/IRS/EGI. TIME system is provided (by default) by GPS, is always UTC and can be overridden in case of GPS loss/drift.

100% And on some other airplane there is also other reasons.

[REPORTED]F-16 pitches up when accelerating
Dee-Jay replied to deadpool's topic in Bugs and Problems
True, on "classic" airplanes. F-16 is different in ptich axis due to FLCS laws. -
fixed [REPORTED]Low altitude, Low fuel, High speed wobbling
Dee-Jay replied to Quetzalkoatl's topic in Bugs and Problems
Not saying it is the same problem/cause in DCS ... but some years ago, we had exactly the same issue. Exactly the same behavior at the same speed range. It was because of an FM computation indexed of "frame rate". This was solved by using adaptive algorithms. -

Same thoughts here. I would even bet on "only" rather than "primarly". By reading the FLCS diagrams, we can have a fair idea that "yaw damper" would not enter in resonance. At least not that way, it would be a major and unacceptable flow in FLCS code/design. However is right ... if you know a (certified) a/c departing that way in yaw beyond actual structural limits so close to its VNE, give me a call please, so I would never attempt to fly it IRL. Because a pilot may, especially in combat, go accidentally beyond those limits. Don't you think/know? :) ... shall he loose the control for a little over-speed? ... I don't think so. Otherwise, LM didn't applied the right safely factor to it a/c's limitations. (... because indeed, a real structural limitation is always (way) above the published value. Most of the time, it is close to 150% ... not for all limitations agree, such as FTIT for example. Two different POV. That is fine also. And to be honest, I don't really care. I do not choose what ED likes to consider what is relevant and what is not, I run "on my own business". ;) Regards. -

Hi! No dutch roll here. Look at the rudder, yaw is commanded. If we had dutch roll like this with that amplitude at that speed, obviously, a/c would be in trouble and pilot will have landed ASAP. I gave my sources, if you have some other clues/reference, I'll take them, and will be happy to consider them. Does DCS model a/c damage in case of runway excursion? Yes. Is the pilot supposed to roll in the grass with an F-16? Nope. ... as long as you can reach that airspeed, IMHO, we should not witness such a resonance which is typical from numerical instability with FLCS computation. Regards -
fixed [REPORTED]Low altitude, Low fuel, High speed wobbling
Dee-Jay replied to Quetzalkoatl's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi! It is an airspeed limitation, and this limitation is dictated by engine diagrams (c.f. Dash-1 - OPERATING LIMITATIONS - AIRSPEED LIMITATIONS - Refer to Figure 5-3 ; 5-5 ; 5-6) So it is not out of the flight envelope, but outside of the engine envelope. Regards -
I had few experience of wake turb in real life on , M2000 and ... one day my TB-30 flipped 3/4 upside down on its own (after takeoff passing 1000ft/AGL climbing to 1500ft) due to C-160 wake turbs (and/or prop wash) despite the 3min delay at takeoff. Quite used to (accidentally) pass thought my leader's jet wash also when I was on AJet ... (ooops) However ... I can tell you that what I see in game has nothing realistic for a Jet like F-16 or M2000 passing thought the wake tub of a KC-135.

Hi! Sound (especially in cockpit) is the one of the best achievements of this sim and is one of the most realistic stuff. I don't think it would be smart to ruin it with "Hollywoodian" effects which would be completely faked and wrong. Do not confuse immersion/feedback and action movies. Regards.

Low prio?(!) ... okay. Sure. Thank you for the hint! Regards.

Hi! Currently . Maybe I've missed some posts or announcements, but is there some plans to fix/enhance the wake trub by reducing its effects and/or making it proportional to the weight and speed of a/c? Regards.

If FLCS is fully accurately implemented, in some conditions, a/c could roll upside down in case of bounce. This is why it is "not recommended". If not implemented, no biggie in DCS, de-crabing is indeed an option.

[NO BUG]negative g, red vision , manual pitch ovveride
Dee-Jay replied to luigipsic's topic in Bugs and Problems
Your are correct sorry. -4 max + a permanent +1G on top of it = -3 So the pilot can request between -3 G and +9G. I don't know why I remembered a -2 as total output (?). -
"thump" sound shortly after moving throttle to idle?
Dee-Jay replied to D4n's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Ok. I hear it too now. Either something in the sample that was not possible to clean. Or ... maybe the JFS exhaust door closing (?) ... I don't remember when it is supposed to close and I really don't think it could be audible in cockpit. But ... maybe (?) -

For info, it is an engine limitation not an air-frame limitation. -

Nope I am not trolling. I (still) can't hear what you are talking about (on your video I just hear a loop with an increased volume), so I was initially wondering if you were talking about a possible throttle mechanical stop. -

... Guys, try the same engine off. -

But under normal conditions, in most cases FLCS would not allow more than -2gs. -
If you ask me, this color change feature should have been removed a long time ago in favor of a proper fix. An heresy in flight simulation.

I "doubt" that regular laser pods are powerful enough to ensure a good laser spot at FL300 / 20NM+ ... This is something for a good Wescam. mmm ... that's not good "IMO". Laser (and PII/III seeker) have some limitations (power/diffraction).

The visor shade in "the other" sim is ATM only an (efficient) workaround to get a better HUD reading and act as sort of filter. IRL, smoked visor (not behind the HUD glass) would not change HUD contrast. The proper fix would be more green hue/contrast. On this picture, I've put the shade behind the HUD glass. Without the shade (max HUD intensity level). So I confirm that IRL, HUD is not always 100% readable depending on sunlight. I do also confirm that DCS HUD rendering in slightly better than "the other sims". Good enough IMO to be considered fine IMO.
