They added the animation for the Apache, cause there is no ejection seat but you can pretend to leave the aircraft after a forced landing. So you don't need to die in a fire or explosion of the damaged helicopter. It's just the animation and therefore lowest priority issue and a nice to have thing being corrected eventually after it's feature complete.

Above 10.000ft... better go low level -
Haven't found a report about the following, at least not with the search criteria I used. See also tracks attached. Have an AH-64 armed with Hellfires at least on the right inboard station. Be on the ground, open cockpit door and hit CTRL + E three times to ground egress the helicopter and look from the outside. Do this both for pilot and CPG. Pilot comes to a stop after the egress animation with the missiles through his body: The CPG is floating in a 45° angle in the air... Thanks Jens 20250906_AH-64D_ground_egress_cpg.trk 20250906_AH-64D_ground_egress_pilot.trk

I need to resurrect this thread, cause it deals with what I have currently trouble with. Please find a trk attached (worked for me as intended during replay). After aborting APU startup, I was not able to restart APU correctly again (even with ground power attached). Waited 30 seconds, started the APU, front panel showed APU starting and APU power on, I could hear the sound the light on the APU button was not lit. So for me there is no way to restart APU after aborted startup. Feel free to correct my actions which are shown in the track. Thanks 20250905_AH-64D_APU_failed_after_aborted_first_start.trk

I tried this feature and was able to get static/dynamicly created ammo palette, the UH-1 cargo style load and the M117 bombs into the cargo bay. The bay has three slots. I was not able to place the barrels as an internal cargo. There was an image on ED discord development pics where the Mi-8 was loaded with barrels. How can I achieve this!?

Afterburner sound shattered all the greenhouse glass -
MB-339 has it's integrated GPS system. This also has the maps airfields, radio beacons and so on in it's database for selection. So no need for the NS430 in my opinion. It also can be used with a text file based data card. With the newly added option of the DTC in DCS ME (currently for F-16 and -18) this would be a nice addition to the MB-339.

Just tried one of the generic hospital landing pads on the roof in the Huey. N 52°24'38.61" E 9°45'39.26" Some things I need to mention: 1. There is a fence around the roof that's quite high 2. After touchdown the helicopter seems to float above the roof top level. Seems the level where the helicopter comes to rest is the same height like the surrounding small wall, where the fence is mounted to. Thanks Jens

This is no longer a problem after the update in July. Rocket / pylon drag has been greatly reduced.

Hi @MAESTR0, Thanks for the creation of the CWG map. Even in phase 1, it's awesome. I know that there are so many landmarks and monuments and you can't re-create every single one. Could you tell us something about the decision making process in what it's worth to create and what to leave aside? Having been in the area lately on vacation, monuments in Kassel and around are looking awesome. Kaiser-Wilhelm-Denkmal near Porta Westfalica is missing so: 52°14'44.7"N 8°54'23.6"E What I'm missing a bit are the details for the reservoirs and dams in the central part of Germany. The shape of the lakes / reservoirs is nice when flying up high, but going down low through the valleys by plane of even more helicopter, the water elevation changes drastically within the lake having no dam construction. This looks extremely strange at Edersee. Would be awesome if this could be created in later phases of the map. UGRA did a great job recreating the dams in Syria map, e.g. near Adana. Also the historical relevance of the Talsperren needs to be taken into account, as mentioned here in this post: Some locations of the dams: Edertalsperre / Edersee: N 51°10'56.23" E 9°03'39.43" Aabachtalsperre: N 51°29'47.77" E 8°43'11.38" Möhnesee: N 51°29'23.09" E 8°03'34.37" Sorpetalsperre: N 51°21'03.1" E 7°58'05.4" Biggetalsperre: N 51°06'39.17" E 7°53'16.44" Wiehltalseperre: N 50°56'11.14" E 7°40'03.12" Hennesee Staudamm: N 51°20'06.24" E 8°16'25.45" Diemeltalsperre: N 51°22'39.88" E 8°43'39.62" Rappbodetalsperre: N 51°44'23.45" E 10°53'34.19" Okertalsperre: N 51°51'01.59" E 10°27'34.14" Sösetalsperre: N 51°44'19.42" E 10°18'40.99" Odertalsperre: N 51°38'45.60" E 10°30'23.08" Granestausee: N 51°54'41.3" E 10°22'41.9" Innerstestausee: N 51°54'51.68" E 10°17'48.80" Eckertalsperre: N 51°50'28.50" E 10°34'47.34" Talsperre Pöhl N 50°32'57.11" E 12°10'48.38" (not in current detail area) Thanks again for the great work and listening to the community. I really enjoy using the CWG map. Jens

Just installed the latest DCS update. There was nothing mentioned in the patch notes, but looks like many navaids have been corrected with names and so on. Okay, Damgarten still has 820 MHz wrong frequency, but that's an easy fix on my end for the time being. Thanks Ugra.

Thanks, so a different behavior. Maybe some runtime related problem but hard to reproduce. Fingers crossed the devs can find something.
-
Don't know if it's related or not. Do you switch planes or maps within a DCS session!? I had similar auto pilot issues in the Hornet having flown a different plane before without closing DCS. Ending DCS and restarting the same mission, autopilot was working again with no problem.

Hello, Don't know i this is a bug or not. Anyone else also noticed, that the engine stops too soon after going to cutoff on the mixture lever? Going to cutoff there is still fuel in the fuel lines which will be sucked into the carb and cylinders slowly stopping the engine, also propeller and rotating mass in the engine will have quite an inertia coming to a stop more slowly. ED's P-47 with the same engine stops much more slowly. The sudden stoppage also appears when switching the mags to off. I had no luck being in low idle to do a mags grounding check with going mags off and immediately on again which should result just in a short drop in RPM and recatching of the engine ignition (also working in P-47). If necessary I can create trk and record a video of what I mean. Please see her real engine stopping at around 5:25 in the video. Thanks Jens

Hello, using a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle and a T.16000 stick I do not have so many axis to assign throttle, propeller and boost lever. Having the boost controls for increase and decrease bound to two buttons on the throttle. Pressing short on a button moves the boost lever too far. Would like to have less sensitivity of that boost increase/decrease button commands or a separate boost slow increase/decrease key combo. Currently I'm not able to climb with full open throttle at max continuous power and just slowly open the boost to hold the manifold pressure. Thanks Jens

That's what I thought after download. Thanks @Charly_Owl for the great work.

Could the lase code tool tip upper limit in ME also be changed for A-10CII? It says 1788 is possible, but it's not as stated above. I struggled, cause in ME it was possible to set GBU-12 coder to 1712. When loading the DSMS in the plane this defaulted to 1688.
-
Also wondered about this. Thanks -Rudel- for the explanation. Maybe there is a chance some day.
-
Also installed the L2D2 liveries and also French liveries from the download section. I than copied the one of the French liveries in a new folder, changed the name in description lua and took all the files within [DCS_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY]\Mods\tech\WWII Units\Textures\C-47.zip and put them in the new "default" livery in my save games. This way I can use that livery, too.
-
Would also like to see some more C-47 liveries.

First attempt was without hook. After that, three successful carrier traps in a row. Almost too easy? Or am I that good?! Hits and bda I guess is a bug!? Touchdowns were hard, but not that hard to damage the carrier deck. What are the numbers in parentheses in details column (27, 20, 18, 16)?

Hi @-Rudel-, sorry for the ping, but wanted to fill this thread with some tracks. Not totally scientific, but this should show the difference. Caucasus mission new, Corsair set to 3000ft air start with 50% fuel. In both scenarios I set 2300 rpm and 34 in MP and didn't change cowl flap position after spawn. Descended to about 2700 ft. One short track is without wing rockets and automatically without the stubby rocket pylons. Speed achieved in level flight was about 214 kts IAS even in a slight climb to 2800ft. Second track starts with eight rockets attached, speed at around 2700 ft was around 181 kts IAS. After firing all rockets and keeping 2700 ft, speed went only slightly up to about 185 kts IAS (don't know if this was just a bit PIO around the 2700 ft mark or not). So questions persist: Are the stubby pylons so draggy? How much difference do they make compared to no stubby pylons? How much faster should the F4 go after firing eight rockets both losing the weight and drag of them? Thanks for checking Jens 20250625_F4U_drag_without_rockets_and_stub_pylons_3000ft_2300rpm_34MP_208kts_IAS.trk 20250625_F4U_drag_with_and_without_rockets_3000ft_2300rpm_34MP_185kts_IAS.trk
