  1. Hello, just tried the custom data card feature, which I think is really a great idea. Wanted to ask, if there are more constraints regarding the usage of the custom data card as I encountered the following. Please find attached a working card and mission, if you want to try the feature. Several attempts trying to load the mission failed when file was named "MB-339_Kobuleti_Navigation.miz" and the data cartridge file "MB-339_Kobuleti_Navigation.txt". Loading screen stopped at mission load done, but nothing happened anymore. last logline (old dcs log attached): Dispatcher (Main): loadMission Done: Сontrol passed to the player There was nothing regarding the loading of the data card. Only after renaming the mission and the data card file, mission could be loaded. Do "-" and "_" and lower upper case represent a problem?! Also looks like the auto generated entries have some problems when used as template in custom card, this is part from dcs log: Here are some screens from the working mission with the Caucasus custom data card, didn't set WP00 so this is empty. User waypoints: FPL Regards Jens mb339navigation.txt mb339navigation.miz dcs.log.old dcs.log
  2. It will completely block outside vision in the rear cockpit: Sitting in there, you can fold it down by clicking on the seam above your head and you can enjoy the outside world
  3. As this is a trainer aircraft, I think this is more a training weapon to learn the basics of ground strafing without devastating the target range completely or using more costly larger caliber munitions in the DEFA cannon. Of course this does not bother us in the sim as it does in real life.
  4. @Bigskill: It's described on pages XV and following in the manual: "How to set the custom Data Cartridge" It will create a data card text file on first mission load on a map. Using this template you can add waypoints, target points, Beacons, flight plan in the file, rename to your mission name and should be able to use this data in your INS navigation system independent on waypoint settings from mission editor as far as I understood.
  5. Hello, there is something wrong with the autogenerated data cards. For Caucasus, Nevada and Normandy this works just fine, but for Persion Gulf, Marianas and Syria it will generate only a file with the following name: .autogenerated.txt Here is a screenshot of datacard directory; renamed the .autogenerated files for the check of the next map: After having one with .autogenerated.txt from PG map, loading Syria mission did not work. Loading Screen halted at a point like skripting actions or something alike. Didn't kept the log, but this should be ease to recreate. Do not have Channel or South Atlantic map to check there.
  6. Noooo... don't do this. He made an impressive job. Noticed the dents in the wing tip tanks and the welding seams lately:
  7. I can top that, 10G at Khasab on the PG map Let's hope for ED putting out the next patch which will include the fix mentioned above quickly.
  8. yes, for me too. Thanks ED, whoever reverted it to the behavior we were used to.
  9. That's a page setting thing. The Home request header contains the referer but this will not be visible in the URL the browser presents to you. Host: forum.dcs.world Referer: https://forum.dcs.world/discover/ Change in URL is only visible, when using the menu entries like Forums or All activities.
  10. Hello, found two little things with the blind flying hood in the rear cockpit. 1. If the blind flying hood is folded in internal view everything is okay, but the hood is visible in external F2 view as it is in place. 2. The canopy handle interferes with the blind flying hood, the arrow in screenshot. In internal view it's okay. Thanks Jens
  11. Changed my bookmark to this yes, but let's wait for a moderator or dev to answer if this was really done on purpose. Forum startpage bread crumb is Home > Forums For me personally, activity stream is useless.
  12. Hello, is it intended that using breadcrumb "Home" (https://forum.dcs.world/) now leads to activity stream?! I was used to "Home" leading to forum start page. Regards Jens
  13. Thanks, let's see, how this will proceed. As far as I know, only helicopters have currently engine icing / de-icing in game.
  14. I just had a flight with weather preset Broken 3, I think is it called, in Caucasus, with 14°C at sea level. Clouds top end was abut 23000ft, some cirrus clouds way above. Was flying at 25000ft, so above the clouds in free cold air. ICE warning light was on all the time I entered clouds on climbing and stayed on at FL250. Shouldn't there be no problem with icing anymore when well outside of the clouds? Had engine anti-ice on during climb but switched it off at FL250 and there was no problem with engine inlet icing. 15. Is the workaround still working with setting middle position of the yaw SAS switch before landing!?
  16. Hello, the airshow smoke has severely reduced in 2.8. Here is a test done in 2.8 OB and 2.7 stable. L-39C AI, WP1 300m, 450 km/h - smoke on, WP2 over runway action perform aerobatics loop: This is how it looks in DCS 2.8 How it looks in DCS 2.7 stable: Regarding performance, maybe it's okay to shorten the effect a bit, but the reduction we see in 2.8 is a bit too much from my point of view. Thanks Jens

    Smoke

Noticed the same, in 2.7 you could perform a loop in the C-101 and that smoke was visible from start to finish. I guess, this is nothing IFE could change. Have you found anything in the core section reports? Not with MB-339 but L-39C AI, loop flown over runway: DCS 2.8 how it looks in DCS 2.7 stable: Will post the same report in DCS core general section. added core report:

  19. Hello, looks like the back seat NAV-RDU's brightness is coupled with the front seat control. You can only control the brightness of the NAV display in the back seat. Back seat RDU brightness has the value which is set in the front cockpit. See screenshots and track. Front seat RDU dim aligned with NAV unit dim: Back seat, NAV unit display bright, but RDU dim as in front seat: For the radio frequency repeater panel it works as intended, front seat controlled by frontseat UHV/VHF radio brightness controll and back seat from the corresponding back seat unit. Thanks Jens MB339-RDU_brightness_front_back_seat.trk
  20. It's there under Systems category: Engine Relight. I've mapped it to my throttle:

  23. Thanks @IvanK for the explanation, haven't found it in the manual or wasn't paying enough attention. For navigation, I noticed this yesterday. Info on HSI and data display where correct for ME preset waypoints. One thing I noticed, the landing waypoint from ME isn't part of the preset flightplan, is this intended? Also bearing and range will only be displayed on the NAV unit itself, but not on RDU? Would be nice to have ranging info to airport on RDU, when HSI is in ILS mode.
  24. I also would think wet runway?
  25. Hello, wanted to fly in Nevada and created mission at Creech AFB cold start. During AHRS/GPS System alignment and present position data output, the longitude has no values. Manual data entry is only possible for eastern values. Is this by design of the NAV system? How can we use the system in western hemisphere? Anyone tried this yet? Thanks Jens
