  1. I got the carrier set to 25 knots and the hornet is only sliding the first second after spawning on the deck with chocks on. Before the update, I was sliding left and right during slow taxiing. The wind with the canopy opened is hilarious though, sounds like a hurricane at 6 knots.
  2. There is no indicator, apart from the ghost velocity vector. If you can‘t see it, the crosswind is, as you say, very negligible and cage/uncage won‘t make a difference.
  3. That‘s pretty cool. Too bad I still spawn in the middle of the carrier and no AI can take off and land because they will just crash into me. I wish we had 2-4 normal parking spaces on the stennis, at least in single player for practice. This „auto“ mode doesn‘t work at all.
  4. On my end, the stennis turns on all lights as expected but is completely dark after a bolter, except for those blue lights around the ship.
  5. That‘s probably too complex to simulate. Edit: I stand corrected. Love those youtube mini videos.
  6. I regret having wasted my time and hitting reply now that I read the rest of this. Properly useless thread, Op is just trolling, could just as well get locked now.
  7. Because he wants to do it right obviously. But good for you for buying a study simulation and landing without flaps. But maybe I misread your comment and you meant you were just trying things out, hence not caring about blowing up cause it‘s a desktop simulator.
  8. Someone from the ED testers team acknowledged the problem in another thread. They‘re definitely aware of it.
  9. That‘s what I was thinking as well.
  10. I haven’t really noticed a difference except that it feels easier now to „catch“ the aircraft at the right AOA after dirtying up. It just seems a bit easier to get the right amount of power going before getting too slow. Seeing now that the gear drag got reduced makes sense in this regard. Carrier recoveries are addictive as hell, it‘s so rewarding.
  11. According to the newsletter, the landing gear drag has indeed been lowered. Wasn‘t placebo after all.
  12. You‘re right. I didn‘t know that I have to set the TACAN for every waypoint, if I enable a custom TACAN frequency after adding a waypoint. My bad. My default station is 1X and it is named TKR instead of STN, is that how it‘s supposed to be?
  13. It doesn‘t work.
  14. What in the world is wrong with my installation?
  15. Weird. Mine is 125 GB and I only have Nevada and the Hornet installed currently. No missions. No liveries. No mods. Reinstalled DCS just a week ago.
  16. Interesting. On the HUD tape you can see that the ICLS needles actually go through the AOA display on the hud. On Wags video they aren‘t long enough to touch the AOA display.
  17. I think the damage model as a whole is very very much work in progress at the moment, still I think it‘s a reasonable request.
  18. I wonder why they refuel while in A/A mode with the Sparrow selected.
  19. So, MFUZE for dumb bombs, EFUZE for JDAMs?
  20. I think what might be bugged is that there can't be icing conditions present when flying through clear skies at 8000 ft on a hot summer day in Nevada, so the caution shouldn't get triggered in the first place, most of the time at least. However, IF icing conditions are indeed present, the caution won't necessarily go away in the real airplane, like he described:
  21. Same for me. Maybe enable your own TACAN code in the meantime. No problems there.
  22. Amazing, thanks!
  23. Indeed. Especially because they can cross check everything with their own subject matter experts.
  24. That’s a neat post! Really really hope it won’t get deleted.
