  1. The first two are fine, it's the second two pictures that are upside down here :P
  2. While I've never had a problem with the DRM in any product, including anything DCS, it can still be an inconvenience to the customer. With software in general - the pirate will simply download a crack to bypass whichever protection is put in place. So while DRM has little effect on the pirate, it has an effect on the customer. In extreme circumstances, the customer is being "punished" for the actions of the pirates, especially if the DRM is paranoid - which luckily for us & DCS is not the case. I guess pirates would still be missing out on what I consider the most fun part of DCS - online multiplayer. Having said that, with a massive amount in DCS being completely free, I think there would be little reason to pirate it outright. I would like to think that if someone has gone to the trouble of downloading the free portion of DCS, they'd see the effort that has been put into this they sim, the quality of it and see the value of purchasing a full module. So I think having DCS as free, this is a very positive way to combat piracy, whether that;s on purpose or not.
  3. that's because he'ss pre-heating the engine. He's done this before obviously :)
  4. try the in game hands on training missions, they seem a little bit daunting at first, but if you do each one 5-10 times between some fun gun run missions then you'll be proficient in no time :)
  5. Were you flying the Huey when you took the first two snaps? Because if I was flying the Huey I would be upside down :P Edit: If I'm not mistaken there is a man inside one of those concrete blocks about 1/2 way down isn't there? Some poor guy fell in, but the concrete set too fast?
  6. Well, of course not, but what I was getting at is that they could do something similar to the Huey/Hip where you can change seats and the AI will take over to some degree. I'm sure the AI is perfectly capable of follow waypoints, and doing some combat manuevers while you operate the weapons in the back, and vice versa - just like the way you command wingmen that fly their own hawgs and engage enemies on their own. It's not the same as having two human crew members, but it still sufficient for the release of the module.
  7. It's fair enough point, but the F-14 is capable of landing and taking off from normal runways, so it doesn't necessarily need to be delayed because of carrier ops. Technically the Huey and Mi-8 should also have two pilots, but we can fly them just fine. So I don't necessarily see these as show stoppers.
  8. This :) No harm of civ aircraft coming into DCS, and I would even buy a few, but only if it doesn't impact the development of the bread and butter aircraft.
  9. Is that because jet feel better with the joystick springing back to center?
  10. Really disappointing, I mean the grains of sand are way smaller in real life.......only joking :) THIS LOOKS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Gone are days where flight simulator graphics are sterile, dull and have low performance. This new graphics engine, map, and module make it look better than any other simulator or game I've seen!
  11. We do? Source? That's really cool, I love the tomcat!
  12. Really cool, I think flight schools would probably want to have something like this. As for home users, given the amount of immersion you get in an oculus rift, I think cockpit building will be fairly rare. Assuming the oculus doesn't make people hurl :)
  13. I could be wrong, but I thought I saw one of the 3rd party dev's were working on it. (And there is already a module for the other big flight simulator). But the amount of buttons on this, it would be great for any sim, rotary or fixed wing. There is no way I'd be going from a crazy good proper cyclic flying the shark or huey, and then going back to a saitek for the A-10C lol. And that's my point, if I was going to invest in a set up like this, it would have to take care of everything I want to fly. Because I couldn't afford buying a new cyclic and/or collective every year when a new aircraft module comes out. (I understand that the cost is warrented because of the quality, and its hand made and beautiful, but never the less its still a big investment for the average Joe). My thinking is, to buy one that might not be realistic to every aircraft, but it will last me for life, no matter what I end up flying. Not to mention in multiplayer, I tend to fly whatever might be available, and even though it looks like its only seconds between changing a shaft, it's not really practicle once you are in the game and sat down to be swapping stuff around. And each shaft would have different bindings etc. PS the AS350 looks good, but not quite enough buttons, for the A-10C, but with the other modern aircraft 6-12 months away, you wanna be ready. TBH I'd even be happy with a fictional cyclic/collective, as long as it has 12+ buttons and 6+ hats (with one being 2 axis analogue for target designator). In summary, I want everything for nothing, and I want it now :P
  14. nice work! Btw on the Dora, whats with the red/brown outline on the cockpit canopy, where the metal bits meet the sky? That looks like some kind of red/blue 3D that old school movies and books used, don't tell me the oculus uses that to enhance the 3D? (I can see that its in other places as well, but most noticable between sky and canopy metal) Each side of the image looks kind of blurry, I would have expected that the each image be very clean like on a normal monitor, except each eye a different angle. This looks like it destroys colors as well as readability.
  15. Guessing by the amount of buttons some of these cockpit builders use, it would say its at least 64 perhaps even 256. I've only ever managed to get about 7, so who knows it might only 8 lol.
  16. Apologies Rich, I left out a few key words there! I meant to ask about the Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter controls. They look fairly similar to the EC135/AS350 but have a bigger head with more buttons on each. (4k picture) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/Cabina_delantera_Tigre_HAP_E.T..JPG
  17. wow these look fantastic! Any chance of doing a Eurocopter cyclic/collective? That would be a perfect set up for any sim.
  18. GTX 970 and possibly another on the way (if the oculus needs it)
  19. RAZBAM are already doing a Mirage 2000C and AvioDev are rumoured to be working on Mirage F1
  20. warthog and ch rudder pedals for sure.
  21. And if there isn't, do you want a gimp in your basement, because for a peek at the F-14 Tomcat, I'll try anything once :megalol:
  22. Being a paid campaign, I'm assuming that it comes with some kind of security code or check of some kind - therefore Could someone please confirm whether these missions can be edited to include additional players so that they can be played in multiplayer? e.g. I want to add in 1-3 additional Su-27 to make these missions coop. (I know triggers and such might not work correctly, but I'm fine with that.) It's fine if all players need to purchase the campaign of course.

    Brakes

I don't think the Mig-21 uses toe brakes, let alone left and right ones. I don't have the module, but I know a lot of older russian planes use a lever on the joystick to activate the brake. So this might be why there are no options to assign them.
