I'm here for modern jets, but when I think about Oculus Rift and the open air of a WW1 plane it sounds very awesome to me.

Why would someone make something that would suck? It'd be like Eurotruck, except more realistic. Imagine the trucks cabin being as detailed as the cockpits we are used to in DCS? That would be amazing. No such thing exists that I'm aware of anyway. Adjusting the mirrors and seating position, checking the gauges, warming up etc There are a lot of buttons to press in those trucks too. Its not like a normal car. And the 6x6 driving physics could be really nice too - if it could leverage the DCS amount of detail.

First I noticed is how smooth the frame rate was even at the airport! Very Cool. In all of my excitement, I forgot to wish everyone a Happy Successful Additional Solar Orbit, to all Earthlings :)

I was inspired by the fact that very poor truck simulator on Steam has over 24,000 positive reviews. And I thought - "Wouldn't it great to a have a very realistic heavy hauler simulator in DCS" In this other truck simulator, you drive across Europe, but the distances are all fake etc. In a proper simulator engine this would not have to be so. You could be hauling troops, or machinery to from one real town to another real town, watch them unload. Refuel etc. How wouldn't want to learn the start up sequence to a beast of a truck with 6x6 drive :) There is definitely a market for it. Edit I'm also aware there is another truck game where you drive Russian heavy trucks, its all external view only, and its more focused on getting stuck in mud, so it's not at all a simulator.

I would love an Mi-8 :)

I believe that is because DCSWorld 2 or EDGE has a new graphics engine, which uses a Depth of Field Blur visual effect, to mimic the eye focusing on a specific point. If the view was slightly change I think the clouds would be focused and the mirage would be blurred. is this still expected in 2015?

I'd say they will be adding coronas and HDR and such later on to make the lighting less flat.

My hope is that the mission editor will allow you to place units (infantry and zu-23) onto roof tops.

Curious if ED would ever consider licensing the DCS World 2 engine to create a mech game? Obviously nothing to do with DCS, and would not have a DCS title or anything like that. I used to love this game in the video below, Gun Griffon, and while it looks like a mess these days I think a proper simulator game engine would be perfect for a serious mech game - with realistic distances and speeds etc. Not like the arcady Mech Warrior Online game.

Tank battles were very cool, but the rest of the movie was incredibly cliche with unlikable characters.

And statistically number 13 is no less 'lucky' than any other number.

Who wouldn't want to fly an EC-135 through the beautiful new maps and graphics engine? With a civilian aircraft you can actually enjoy the view instead of looking for targets :)

You know I'd be really happy just flying the EC-135 as it is used as a trainer for many nations. And I'm guessing that being civilian, it would a lot easier to get a hold of any information.
