  2. Gimbal Roll, How to Fix Hey guys. When I'm making multiple attacks with the TGP, I tend to get a GIMBAL ROLL message on the TGP screen, and the TGP will slew off of its target and away. I don't know the specifics of why, but I do know that this can happen occasionally and is to be expected, but in the old Hawg, I would boresight the TGP with China Hat Aft Short, then slew it back onto the target via my own choice of method. Since the new Hawg no longer has the boresight feature (I'm not complaining, it's realistic from what I've read, and am therefore happy it's not in anymore), how do I fix the TGP when this happens? I've already had a few laser mavs and one APKWS miss because the laser will stop firing when the GIMBAL ROLL message appears, even if the TGP stays on target. Thanks!!
  3. Thanks guys, that was it!
  4. Hey guys. I just took the new Hawg out for a spin for the first time, but ran into some confusion right away. Which option in the loadout screen of the ME is APKWS? Every option I tried loaded me up with the generic Hydras. Thanks!
  5. Of course, OP and I both seem to agree this shouldn't be a critical or high-priority fix, but something nice that users could have further down the development line.
  6. I just want to bump this, hoping for a response from BN/NL
  7. +1. Would be great especially for those without head tracking (I have Rift and TIR as a backup). I know not everyone does, though, so this would be a handy feature at some point.
  8. This is in the full campaign, not the Part 1, Part 2, etc. Wingman will not takeoff from FARP. I have to fly the mission solo. Latest Open Beta.
  9. Please, for the love of Hawg, can ED fix the incorrect pointing cross behavior for the upcoming A-10C 2.0? The cross should flash for an invalid track and be steady for a valid one. It's the opposite right now, and has been for as long as I've been flying the Hawg (2013). Ive brought it up in the A-10C thread a while back, but it never got acknowledged by anyone at ED. Also, please, please implement correct modeling of the Maverick keyhole constraints, as well as the pitch angle/rate and roll angle/rate restrictions. The -65 is NOT an AIM-9X, but it currently flies off the jet at or near gimbal limits as if it were one, and still manages to hit its target. Admittedly, it's been a while since I've used IR Mavs in the Hornet or Harrier, but IIRC, keyhole was correctly modeled in both. I understand if these items won't be fixed before A-10C 2.0. I mean, why put these features into the original just to do the work again relatively soon for 2.0? But please, once 2.0 is released, put these items somewhere in the features/bug fix list. Thanks!!
  10. Post a track.
  11. I think a big part of it has to do with not being able to adjust the burst altitude atm. But then again, I have the same problem in the A-10C. Using CBU-87s in the Hawg is like shooting buckshot at a fly on the wall (from a reasonable distance away, of course). You'll hit alot of the wall around him, but probably won't hit the fly itself. The spread between the individual bomblets is just too large.
  12. Just an FYI, you don't retract gear or flaps on a WO or bolter. Stay dirtied up all the way back around.
  13. To be fair, you are going to hit the ground, just not in the way the GPWS thinks :music_whistling:
  14. Ok, so I just downloaded the Harrier over PG campaign, but I'm confused on the installation. It says to Download Dynamic Campaign Engine and extract to "...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech... Ok, so first off, where is the engine? I can't find anything via Google or forum search about a standalone DCE download. Lots of DCE campaigns, but not the engine itself. Second, it says Download campaign and extract to "...\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns. So, do I extract both the tech and DCE_Missionscript_mod folders to that location? I just find the instructions to be a little vague when they say "the engine" or "the campaign." Like, tell me specifically which file/folder goes to precisely what location. I need the instructions to be a little clearer, please.
  15. +1. I'm definitely all for added realism, and correct hand signals.
  16. I'm stealing this :lol::lol: Perfect description of the "aviator" in a FBW jet.
  17. I recently posted a very similar question, and Tholozor pointed me to this website: http://www.seaforces.org You can select Aircraft Carriers under US Navy Ships, then select a carrier, and see which Carrier Air Wing was assigned to that carrier in a specific span of time. You can then select Carrier Air Wings under US Navy Air Units on the home page again, find the Carrier Air Wing you want, and it will tell you what squadrons made up that CAW in a specific span of time. Tholozor told me it is a treasure trove, and in the past few days, I've been trolling all over that site just soaking in everything. It really is a fantastic repository of good stuff. Hope this helps!!
  18. Ah, I see now. Makes sense. Thanks for the info!
  19. Thank you, dude!! Just a quick two-minute glance at this site had me blown out of the water. It really is a treasure trove. I'm bookmarking it for sure!!
  20. Ok, so if you're coming back with extra ordnance/stores, how does the arresting gear crew know the proper weight to put in for recovery? As I understand it, if they configure the wires for too low a weight, you could run the wire out and go for a premature swim, since the wires didn't have enough tension put on.
  21. Thanks, man! That's great stuff. Did you get the info for the spreadsheet from Wiki or some other source?
  22. I'm hoping for this as well. I have the USAF ACC Heritage Maneuvers Package, and for the F-16 it states that as a technique for the high-alpha pass, vertical velocity should be displayed on the HUD so the maneuver can be flown with minimal climb/descent. But the switch in the 'pit doesn't do anything yet, so my virtual airshows are looking a little sloppier than need-be on that maneuver. Edit: Come to think of it, I don't seem to remember it working in the "other" sim either, but I'm really hoping it gets included in our Viper at some point.
  23. I apologize for the delay, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the help! You guys are really worth your weight in gold on these forums. I do have two more questions, though, that I thought of after my OP: 1. When calling state, whether approaching for the marshal or calling the ball, do you only give fuel state, or fuel state plus ordnance still on the jet? For example, if I call the ball and my fuel state is 4.0, but I also still have 700 pounds of bombs/missiles/empty tanks onboard, do I call 4.0 or 4.7? (I know the ball call and approaching state are automatic with the SC, but I'm asking for realism/accuracy's sake). 2. I've decided to call the Abe my home, and I want to populate the deck with accurate squadrons for the Abe's Carrier Air Wing for the approximate era of the ME's default date of 2011. Through some googling, I've found that in 2011, the Abe's CAW was CAW-2. CAWs can (and do, actually very often) change aircraft carriers if the carrier changes home port or for a variety of other reasons. Wikipedia (I know, I know... but it's the only source I could find, hence the question) says that CAW-2's strike fighter portion is currently comprised of VFA-2 Bounty Hunters, VFA-113 Stingers, VFA-147 Argonauts, and VFA-192 Golden Dragons. But were those squadrons in CAW-2 in 2011 or do strike fighter squadrons change CAWs like CAWs change aircraft carriers, or are they more permanent? Is there a definitive place that can tell me what squadrons were in what CAWs at what time, other than Wiki? Thanks again for all the help, and I swear, there won't be many more questions, if any at all.
  24. I didn't vote because the option I want isn't available. I'm aching for PG campaigns. There is a frustratingly massive lack of "official" campaign content for all aircraft the PG map, but of highest interest to me is the Harrier and A-10C. I'm about to install the DCE mod for the Harrier PG campaign, which isn't much of a problem personally, but I empathise with the frustrations of others for the lack of "official" content, especially since the PG map is finished, and the A-10C is long-ago finished. While I personally don't have a problem with installing DCE, there is ZERO pre-made A-10C PG content even there. Why are "official" campaign creators ignoring that map? It just baffles me. Anyway, I've done my venting. Onward with the discussion.
