Yeah, that one was easy to work out to move forward, but it's not what I'm talking about - I mean certain things not being displayed, such as in the HUD (no TCN info) and the pointer not moving in the direction the instructor says it should - there were a few things which i don't remember all of, but I did it a couple of times with the same result so it would be easy to look again and see what they were if this is not a known issue.
  3. Has anyone done any of the training missions lately - I sometimes do one in a random module if I'm a bit rusty or haven't flown a while etc and I did the navigation tute for the Hornet and very little went as the instructor described.

Since installing the VSN F-104 mod, when I have the theme set as the F-104 the picture in all briefings for the MB-339 training and missions is of the F-104 (it comes from that mods Theme folder) and not the MB-339. This could be considered to be a bug with the mod, however the MB-339 is the only module where this happens.
  6. I'm a class 1 radio operator and I have only ever heard a roger beep on civvy radios - CB in fact. Most people disliked it, it was a fad that didn't last long (though there were always people who persisted with it). I've never heard a military set that uses a roger beep. Asking for one is one thing, insisting it's realistic is quite another. Personally, if it were forced on us, I'd delete it from the sim. Proper voice procedure doesn't require any kind of 'signal'.
  7. I started the start-up tute mission last night. Before anything else - I'm on stable 2.8.1.34667 I was unable to get past the VOR part, after tuning the set to 114MHz. I changed the frequency multiple times, as well as other settings and put them back to the right ones again to see if that would trigger progression, but it didn't and I had to give up in the end. I did notice a few grammatical errors but I guess you won't be too bothered about those. **edit - I remember now, I was also unable to speak to ATC, though this may be a sim issue as I think we all know how unpredictable ATC is. I ran a quick start mission after this, and set the radio and was able to get ATC (also in Syria), so I don't think it was user error. In the tute I just progressed with spacebar.
  8. My tests didn't reveal anything unexpected. With Index, as usual, it was solid. With Quest and Pico over VD there was some movement, but as before it was very small. Moving my head vertically produced the smallest up and down motion of the cockpit, but no warping. No side to side movement, either now. However, other sims do produce the warping, as before. I'd say DCS World is better in that respect (with FS being the only one not affected at all so far). Again, only using Virtual desktop - it doesn't happen in 'tethered' VR. I'll try Air Link later for both Pico & Quest. Got a headache after all that headset switching and so on yesterday! Just a point - have you changed any of the Virtual Desktop settings for your headset? I did, so I'll try with default settings as well. ***PS - I only just noticed this is for open beta and MT - which I'm not using!

Okay, I tested it yesterday and I do still have some cockpit/warping, but it is very minor - for example when I move my head up and down the cockpit moves with me just a bit, but nowhere near the warping I used to get when on 180%. Still think this is all somehow connected to using Virtual Desktop. I'll go through all my sims that use VR later and see how they compare with/without VD and wireless/tethered and see what it shows, if anything. I also noted that fpsVR isn't giving anything away - it can give superb results even when this issue is prevalent, so no use in finding a fix, I think.
  10. I've had this issue before a while ago in DCS (when VR first came along) but recently in other sims. The solution in those was to reduce my resolution. I had it at 180% in SteamVR and reducing it to the Steam-recommended 150% fixed it. It was worst in Quest, but also seen in Pico 4, but not with Index. (so probs a Virtual Desktop induced issue)
  11. Was wondering the very same - looks like some testing is in order. I've not attempted any hand tracking at all with the Pico 4 yet, but noticed the option yesterday in the UI, so I'll try and get that sorted and try everything I can (which ain't much!).

  13. Hi - I'm a bit confused. On the ED e-shop it states that open beta is required to fly the Mirage F1. I just came here to get the manual as I am on stable/release version and wanted to read about the module and learn until I could fly it. So I can install on stable, then.

Despite not wanting to buy more modules until I'd got some use out of the last 3 I bought and have had no time in, I would have thrown my money at this had it been an analogue cockpit, especially being an ex-Support Helicopter Force member (for 18sqn Chinooks and 230sqn Pumas) - but glass cockpits don't do it for me at all.
  15. Okay, I tried the original GitHub mod again, but using Ubri's cockpit folder & description lua file, but still couldn't get into the VC. I have attached a screenshot of the two mod contents - GitHub original on the left, Ubri on the right. This is frustrating because in the GitHub download, the assignments for the VHF, UHF and HF are there, but the cockpit isn't. In Ubri's mod, it's the other way round! Someone fetch me a drink!
  16. I mean the VC - virtual Cockpit I just tried Ubri's version and in that I was able to sit in the VC. Everything went well - though I had a probably a bit of a senior moment when testing the caution lights and must have missed the instruction to switch them up after testing - until I got to calling ATC. Maybe it's just on Ubri's download, but there is no option to assign UHF, VHF and HF separately - only the default communications switch - and that won't do it. As I said, audio sounds great, though there are some loud pops and crackles here and there, nothing drastic (unless intentional). I struggled to hear the instructor with all those Chinooks taxiing past, even on "Hear like in helmet" set and after closing the canopy, which made little difference. Usually not an issue. There may be a problem for those with weaker systems with all that AI activity going on - I know when I had an older system I was always frustrated when training missions had lots of AI stuff happening and bringing my framerates down - luckily not an issue for me now. I'll try again, both with Ubri's and with the original mod, but only have half an hour now - I'll get back on it later today. Anyone else notice - for the mod makers, perhaps - the flaps cut through the sidewinder fins when down. PS - just found out why I couldn't get in the cockpit in the GitHub version - the folder is missing, there is no Cockpit_A-29B folder in the liveries folder. I'll download it again and if still no joy, I'll try using the one from Ubri's mod.
  17. Hi - yes I'd be happy to have a try. I'm having problems downloading the file, though. First it tells me I have to log in to my Live account to access this "sensitive" data and when I do, it just shows me storage plans I could sign up to. edit: okay, got it on another attempt - it just vanishes very quickly so they can try and get me to sign up! **straight away I see that I have the same issue I had last time, where I can't access the VC at all, so i think this is perhaps a mod problem,. I will try using the other one, from DropBox by Urbi (this one is the one from GitHub uploaded last month) and see how I get on with that. Great audio quality btw - using Index for this.

  19. I'm having problems with this add-on. I started the training mission (cold & dark start-up) and though my external view controls worked - no VC view and no other control. I went to the controls UI and reassigned everything, but nothing changed. Restarted, but same deal. This is with the GitHub download from January (the latest release version linked on GitHub).
  20. It has a separate download link for the liveries, but even then it comes to well under 1GB in total - 723MB to be exact, for model + liveries. *after another look, that is probably it - the GitHub model has 46 liveries + paintkit etc, the DropBox one has 81.
  21. Can anyone please tell me why the download from DropBox is 1.91GB but the one from GitHub is 251MB?
  22. Update: Yes, they are excellent. Spent yesterday flying around Cyprus in the helicopters and the control was outstanding. Also for fixed-wing aircraft, much more straight-line stability whilst taking off and landing than I've had with my Mad Catz Cessna Pro pedals. Not only that, I didn't have to reassign a single thing in DCS World. Was highly surprised to find that the pedals had been correctly assigned automatically to every module!
