  1. Is the 0.6.0b version from 30th October 2023 still the most current release? It seems to be the latest one on GitHub, but I know there was another source before.
  2. Yeah, it's funny - my 7800X3D is always shown as the limiting factor in my DCS performance! With a 4080 and 64GB of DDR5. Mind you, that doesn't mean the performance is bad, far from it - it's just the limiting factor I've been getting a lot of 90fps averages of late - though it does occasionally drop to 45 for a short while when there's lots of AI about. Doesn't stop the occasional bout of low-altitude stutters when looking at the terrain, though. I'll have to get the frametimes noted - my favourite performance monitor (fpsVR) doesn't seem to work in OpenXR for some reason.
  3. It can get members on ignore lists, though...
  4. I just deleted that post because the title and description contradict each other
  5. EDITED* Doesn't matter about the rubbish blurry graphics - I've gone back to the pre-22nd Feb open beta, which was working excellently on my rig. I'm so fed up of how this always goes - well over 10 years' worth. I'll stick to the version that works well and stay with that until I've finished with everything made for and working on it. When - or if - I get finished with that, I'll have a think about whether I'll update and try the F-4E I already paid for or just cut my losses, call it a day and enjoy my other sims instead. May also just go back to 1.5.8 and do those campaigns that I paid for, or were included with modules (such as Dixmude for the Gazelle or Deployment for the Ka-50) and since got ruined with updates. Plus the VR worked great in that version, too. So lots to do without the hassle of repeated frustration-inducing patches. Ciao.
  6. I agree - I have a 4080 and the best VR performance since 1.5 - mind you, if everything is maxxed out, that may be your problem - no current hardware can handle that and have high framerates as yet.
  7. Would be nice to have Pico 4 pinned as a thread like the other headsets - guess that's cos Americans can't get it (legally). Anyway - I bought one of these kits a few days ago and am very happy with it. It is a bit expensive, but as there are few alternatives for Pico 4, I took the hit and have to say I don't regret it at all. Very comfy - at first it was very snug, but softened within the first session to be just fine. Each battery gives you about an hour's extra time - so you get about 4 hours in one go, which is fine. I was able to switch batteries easily without removing the headset in a few seconds. You can always use the excellent pass-through in any case. So if you don't mind the price, I would recommend this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BP68GP29?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details edit: looks like I got the last one in the UK!!
  10. I agree with you there - but it would be on the caveat that I would be able to mark the map myself. I think this is possible these days anyway? Never tried it, but I think I think I read something along those lines, somewhere.
  11. I guess that may be why, on my first attempt at take-off in the new model it just flipped straight over and smashed into the ground. At least, I hope so. I didn't even look at the non-pilot assignments.
  12. Voice commands/comms would surpass everything as it's been around for years but no single flight sim dev has implemented it as a standard option. Together with an improved comms menu system this would make a world of difference to the sim and up the immersion multifold.
  13. Me too - but PointControl has made a massive difference to my ability to reach switches all around the various cockpits. Now I can fly aircraft (helicopters usually) that I previously couldn't - or had to use autostart with.
  14. No it was from one of my guides, but hey-ho I'm sure he can help himself with a little effort.
  15. Anyone else had controller mayhem since the update? I know it's nothing new, but as I had only just redone everything with an alternative stick, it was highly frustrating. Not only were there multiple assignment and input issues (HOTAS not being recognised by DCS World despite being recognised and working with Windows 10 until after 2 restarts) but even keyboard assignments being shown as conflicting with others, when I haven't touched keyboard assignments for years (since VR - 2016). I'm guessing that's maybe where something has been changed by ED but not by a 3rd party dev? In any case - killed my planned flying day Sunday but I'm well into getting things reassigned - will only take a few more hours, even with back-ups, cos everything needs to be checked as well.
  16. Yeah, thanks for the great campaign, anyway and good luck in whatever you are doing
  17. There should also be 2 in the training missions section, under the list for the L-39C *edit - you should also be able to select the ZA version in the quick mission builder.
  18. Oh, you did a good job then - I thought someone else had done them. Nice to 'see' you again anyway - hope things are going well I guess it's too much to expect that you will be doing more campaigns? Like with the Kiowa maybe?
  19. I did increase monitor size when I switched - from 24" HD to 27" QHD. For once an increase in size didn't leave me feeling like I had to sit further back from the monitor.
  20. I had the same issue someone else mentioned earlier in the thread in that when I applied this mod plus the TAD1004 trees one, as recommended, I just got a black screen. I removed both, did a repair and all was working again. I'll try again, but it's weird. Using JSGME for both. @Nedum - I'm sure I saw someone talking about a small tweak to an lua file in the trees mod thread, to make them show up at a further distance. I don't do it for VR performance, but that's probably where to look. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/242084-better-trees-for-caucasus-v6/
  21. It arrived just now - very nice bit of kit. Only issue is that it's a little cramped for my large hands, especially compared to the Mongoos, which is well spaced out. The Connie is just fine for using the axes and left side hats, but it's a struggle for me with the middle and right two. Probably just take a bit of getting used to. Happy with it, overall, anyway - before plugging it in. Seeya in a few hours....
  22. The 'after entering cabin' part is included in the start-up tutorial, but I guess it isn't quite as thorough as in the actual aircraft and probably most virtual pilots won't bother with that anyway, but the ALT switches aren't mentioned in that either. I just wasn't sure if they were worth putting in my guide/kneeboard - I reckon I'll just put a check item in there, that should take care of it. btw - they are mentioned in the procedure listed in the dev's quick start guide - just not in the actual tutorial mission. Nice document, thanks I'm really enjoying this plane - I was looking for a module to concentrate on for a few months and I think I've found it in the Mirage F1 - much more my kind of thing.
  23. Just about the X3D - I have the 7800X3D and bought this cheapish cooler at £30 ($38) and it keeps my CPU in the 50's °C the vast majority of the time - also using a highly cooled Corsair 4000D Airflow case (which can use water cooling, too): https://www.thermalright.com/product/phantom-spirit-120-se/ **it's quiet, too!
  24. +1 - I switched from HD to 1440 a short while ago and didn't expect much, but the difference is very noticable. Especially stands out when I watch things like this (oh and DCS 2.9 runs smooth as silk in VR up to now - specs in sig):
  25. Not sure about the stick dead zones - I had to put them in (usually never did) because my stick(s) was tripping the AP off in the A-10C. This was an issue with the G940 and my current VPC T50 CM2. That was with the 'softer' set-up, though - I just switched to the stiff springs and cams and have yet to test it, but I suspect I can ditch the dead zones for X/Y again now. Was baffling me for months, why the AP was constantly disabling itself! PS - as for the topic title, I think it's a total non-issue. Who is going to buy a plane without knowing anything about it (at this price, too) and then whinge that it isn't up to 21st century spec? No-one with any kind of credibility, that's for sure.
