I will test it when I get home from work for sure. The reason why I though it was not associated with the DM/DG was that I had several occasions where I did not have any Air to air encounters yet was not able to get the rockets to fire, that being said maybe I put the radar into DM/DG mode and just didn't remember or think of it and never reset it. I would not have stayed in DM/DG mode but I don't think I reset it by going to the center, I think I just changed the range or something similar on the radar, so it kicks it out of DM/DG mode. No, I have had this issue even with the Jettison store switch in the safe position. I have had the issue on a regular basis; I thought it might be the ground adjustment where you need to designate single or ripple firing of the rockets before you start the engines, but even after following that procedure I have had the issue. I dont think it is the DM/DG mode but I will dive into it more and test. It is hard to find a pattern and figure out what is causing it, that being said I am starting to lean towards a bug. I would not go that far, no nuclear weapons for the Mig 21. JD AKA_MattE

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8

A "live" commander would be a huge boost, but I think coordination via the Buddy Spike forum in the Blue side HQ would go a long ways as well. JD AKA_MattE -
I was online against the SU25. First burst took out his right engine, second burst put him into the ground, I was close :) As for Dispersion, it does seem very wide, I was attacking ground targets and it was like a shotgun. Handy for ground attack but would certainly hinder A2A. JD AKA_MattE

And I thought it was just my system that had a hard time with that. Greg if you can pull the clear sky with rain weather out of the rotation for the next round it would be appreciated! JD AKA_MattE -
Yeah I am using the Combat Mix as well, the Combat Mix tore up an SU-25 in BF a week ago. JD AKA_MattE

You did not get seen because of a bug with the MK2 radar, it is not that kind of issue. JD AKA_MattE -

Don't think we are going to pull it off this round.. but we will see. JD AKA_MattE -
Being a null seeker, once uncaged the missile will go to perfect track and the tone level will drop dramatically. I am a bit confused about this last bit. So Captain Deano is saying once you uncage the missile and the seeker tracks the target perfectly, then the amount of tone drops dramatically? You would think it would be the opposite where the better the track the more insistent the tone. Must have been a technological shortcoming of the seeker? JD AKA_MattE

I still think switching sides of the map, where Blue works out of the Red airfields and Red flys out of the Blue ones would be a good twist. JD AKA_MattE -

I think you took Frostie's post that you quoted too seriously , you should take everything he says with a shot of Vodka (as opposed to a pinch of salt..) JD AKA_MattE -
In a situation where there is a F-15 and a Mig 29 at an F-5s 12 o’clock and at 10 miles and in close proximity and the F-5 has them both on radar it cannot determine which one is friendly and which one is foe thru its radar and vector its attack towards the foe, in the same situation the 21 can see on its radar which one is the foe and attack it, the 21 has better SA in this situation. When an aircraft does not have its radar on, like a lot of 29 and 27 pilots like to do, the F-5 cannot see them on the RWR and its radar will only tell him there is a contact out front but it cannot distinguish friend from foe, the Mig 21 however can with it's IFF, the Mig has better SA in this situation. Sure the F-5 pilot can assume that any aircraft that does not have its radar on is an enemy but that’s not too smart with A-10’s and friendly helicopters around. That brings up the attack aircraft, the F-5 can see a SU-25 and an A-10 on radar but it can’t distinguish which one would be friend or foe without getting close, the Mig 21 can see both on its radar but it will also know the A-10 is an enemy aircraft before the pilot can see it clearly, the Mig 21 has better SA in this situation. Same goes for helicopters, the F-5 can see them on radar but does not know if it is a friend or foe without getting close, again the Mig 21 has better SA in this situation. So I will qualify my statement a bit, the F-5 in most situations on the Blue Flag server round 8 will not have better SA than the Mig 21. The RWR in the F-5 is not some type of SA silver bullet, it only shows the pilot part of the picture, the other big piece of virtual air combat, who to shoot at, has to be done with the MkI eyeball in the F-5 which means you have to get close, or get shot at yourslef to know for sure who is a friend and who is the enemy. I will forgo the back at you, stupid slap on the forehead Emoticon as it does not advance the conversation and only adds to forum hostility. JD AKA_MattE

Has it been fixed for the start of round 8? JD AKA_MattE

Once the F-5's RWR has been updated it might be on par with the 21 for SA, but without IFF (which F-5E3 will not have) it will never have better SA than the Mig 21. That being said I have no problem with the F-5's at front line bases. JD AKA_MattE

There are places to set up Idle detent on/off in for the left and right throttle in TARGET. JD AKA_MattE

I have this issue. I assume it is due to the range of the target, but to be honest I wonder since if the Radar can see the target it should be able to lock it.. (or maybe not) JD AKA_MattE

Yes I am sure, I can release the Uncage button and then fire the missile every time. I have had no problems firing the AIM-9's (as long as the uncage button is not depressed), but hitting things is a whole other matter.. I have not been able to get rockets to fire, but that is for a different thread and I think it has been reported already. JD AKA_MattE

I am still having this issue unfortunately even thought I assigned the missile release to a DX button inside DCS. I also tried it just from the keyboard and it did not work either. I think it is something the Belsimtek team needs to look into. JD AKA_MattE
