  1. I am getting the Same, it is especially bad in 1.5.8 in multiplayer. Offline is considerably smoother but like SeaQuark noticed it is there, just substantially diminished. It is a rhythmic stutter, happening about every half a second or so. Setting a FPS limit makes it less noticeable but it is very apparent even at a steady 30FPS. JD AKA_MattE

  3. I am going to try this out next time I fly BF. Last night the first time I spawned the flares worked, and after that I just did a re-arm and refuel and they continued to work. Then I went down and they stopped working after I switched slots but stayed in the mission. After I get shot down, change slots or anything other than a rearm/refuel with the original aircraft I will try exiting the game and relaunching it to see if it keeps the flares working. JD AKA_MattE
  4. Yes I agree this is still a bug. I went thru my controls and there are no conflicts. What is worse is that I have not been able to get the flairs to work on MP for some time now at all. I know They have this marked as resolved until further user feedback but the status needs to be changed since it seems a lot of people still have this issue. Honestly this makes the Mig 21 very vulnerable in MP, I certainly hope the developers will look at it again. JD AKA_MattE
  5. I have this issue both in MP from a cold start and from SP from air start. What is strange is that even with the air start from a quickly make mission it will work for one mission and the next time with the same mission it will not. I am still going to do a thorough look into my TARGET profile for my warthog and see if there is a conflict in there, since it is strange that some folks do not see this issue at all. JD AKA_MattE
  6. Thanks for the replies guys. Yes I have the safety up and I can see with my key binding that the button is being depressed. I also hold it down for a significant amount of time (close to 10 seconds) the first time I try and use it, which I do right after take off. Some times it works and it is good and sometimes it does not work no matter how long I hold the button down. Thanks again for the replies, it is giving the indication that I might have a conflicting key input. JD AKA_MattE

  9. I know this has been going on for a while and there was supposedly a fix back May with 1.5.6.5199, but I still have this issue about 50% of the time. Has anyone come up with a trick to get the flares to deploy 100% of the time? Thanks JD AKA_MattE

  11. First off, Thanks to the 104th and IronMike for putting on a great event, and to Yoda and Moltar for being the Air Boss and ATC. These events are a lot of fun and I look forward to attending another one in the future. Next I want to apologize for leaving early (especially to my Blue teammates), I knew with the schedule I would be cutting it close with my ability to stay for the duration, the delay in the start made it more difficult to stay the entire time and then RL made it impossible. I do have a suggestion along these lines, something my Squadron does for a campaign we have run for years. Instead of starting the server at 18:00 Zulu, start it at 17:40 Zulu with implicit instructions that no one is allowed to start engines, Taxi, or take off until 18:00 Zulu when the mission officially starts; this way if the server has to be restarted it will be possible to maintain the 18:00 Zulu mission start time. It also gives everyone time to discuss final tactics while sitting in their cockpits, something I have always felt adds to the anticipation. Thanks for the kind words Briggers and Jinx about being flight lead. It is something I do often in my squadron, but I am never sure how folks I don’t know will put up with me taking charge. Lastly I have a quick question for Iron Mike, how much tactical leeway do you give in your tournament format? My impression is we flew the mission very much like the sequence in the mission briefing, if we had gone straight for Kutaisi and the S300’s from the start would that have messed up the mission as you wanted it played?   14. +1 You haven’t proven anything this is just your opinion, nothing more. Fueling Fighters is a specific design feature that the BF admins put in to keep defenders (and attackers) from Spamming fighters. It is part of the overall concept of cooperation and coordination, which if one side does not have they will not be able to keep shoving fighters into the battle as fast as they can arm them. And the 530 is not nearly as good as the 27ER, so again, the SU 27 needs the best BVR missile (against the 530 and AIM 7), the only medium range IR missile and the best short range IR missile to be competitive? I am not trying to be sarcastic I am legitimately asking. Pheonix has a good point, a lot of examples given in here are in a vacuum, more like a one on one jousting tournament not a campaign, I never fly BF that way. I will always look to fight at an advantage and if I can’t (and have the opportunity) I will disengage and reset. From my three kills yesterday, two were with the 530; I shot first and my opponents did not make any defensive maneuvers, that has nothing to do with 530 outperforming their missiles, besides one was another Mirage. Take the airframe problem of the SU 27 and the poor performing 27R, it maybe seems the Flanker at least does need something? The Mirage has very good SA, the F-15 has the best SA (IMO), maybe Datalink for the SU 27 might be a good solution? That said I 100% agree with sirscorpion, the best advantage anyone can get, more than a particular missile, RWR, datalink or a sharp FM is teamwork. JD AKA_MattE

  18. I have seen Reds get 7+ mile kills with 27T's in BF, of course the target did not know he was fired at and burned right into it, but the Magic and the Aim 9 are no where near that. The SU 27 have both the best IR Missiles in BF, so it needs the best (from the present set) SARH missile as well to be competitive? The Mirage does need to start with zero fuel, I agree with that. A large part of its popularity is because of how quickly you can get it in the air. JD AKA_MattE

I agree with you that this issue does need attention and I would rather see the older slightly over-performing FM than this FM with its issue. That said I still find it competitive against other aircraft right now and the old FM issues had it accelerating in the sustained turn. Either way Razbam is looking into it and it will improve, I am confident of that. JD AKA_MattE
  23. It was noticed as gavagai pointed out a while back and I figured (with most others I suspect) it was being worked on. That said I hear where you are coming from with the "where's your data" question as anyone who has flown the Mirage hard in the past couple of months would (or should) know that if you get her too slow she does a very convincing impression of a brick, so instead of saying where is your data folks should have said it was a known issue.
