1: Do you have a Warthog throttle? If yes, you must physically lift the throttles over the detent as you would in the real aircraft. Most people think they are breaking the throttle the first time they do it by accident. There is a special binding specifically for the TMWH you can assign to the two button presses associated with each throttle moving over the detent to off. As you lift the throttle back over the detent, the button press will release and the engine should transition to idle in-game as well. If no, then you do not have a physical idle/off detent and button you must stilluse the keyboard for idle/off or assign it to another button on your HOTAS. This is a completely different thing from the throttle finger lifts, which prevent you from entering afterburner unless held. In the case of those, a button must also be mapped or alternately the need to use them can be disabled in the options menu.

Antivirus software? Firewalls? Proxy servers? Anything weird? You've already gone full nuclear with the clean windows install but I've known a few tech-y individuals that have shot themselves in the foot from time to time because their "clean" installs included overclocking software and 10 programs with real time monitoring and elaborate security measures. If you haven't already, disable any and all software of that nature so you've got your bare ass in the breeze minus basic Windows Defender and give it a whirl. If that doesn't change anything or you've tried it, test with a hardwired connection or at another location if you're the type that doesn't mind dragging their tower around occasionally. This should determine if the problem lies with your hardware or with your ISP. Some routers may also close connections automatically, give the settings a thorough inspection for anything that could be kicking you out.

[REPORTED]IA not firing in MP -norender servers
feefifofum replied to BaD CrC's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
My group flew an op with several late activated and/or AI toggled infantry and armor pieces last night without issue...did you check that all of your units were vanilla or if not still had 3D models? Imagine things could get weird with all the busted mods but I haven't tested extensively. -
I can hear the pitchforks on whetstones already  This is a great option for using modern navigation on older birds.

There is an option to disable the requirement for using the lifts, but nothing inherent to using a dual throttle. You may be thinking of the idle/off detent, which is mappable with the TM Warthog (the PC periphal has working detents) but again is inherent to that specific piece of hardware, not all dual throttles in general.

Path of least resistance = MISSILE INSIDE ZONE trigger.

Create each aircraft as a separate group...pretty much your only option at the moment.

This should all be a moot point. If you have insufficient space on your main drive, the updater should prompt you for another location to download the update files. This can be on another hard drive. The updater will download the files, patch the game, then delete the temporary files. I had to do this myself for this update, as others have mentioned, it's quite large when unpacked. With everything finished, my DCS installation is 174GB which includes every map and almost every module.

Air To Ground Missile Launcheres
feefifofum replied to VMFA-Blaze's topic in User Created Missions General
Press the template button, select Russia as the country, select SA-10(SA-300PS) Site, then click on the map where you want the site to be placed. -
It is currently not possible to hide SAMs on the SA page. The issue has been reported and the whole SA page is still in active development so a fix is likely on the way as the page matures. For the F10 map, you may either select "hidden on map" or enforce a view option that does not show hostiles.

BE calls are your best friend even without a waypoint. Open the F10 map, draw the line from BE to the point, then draw from the point to your AC.

For large missions, turning off AI for ground units until they are relevant can help you out. Use PART OF COALITION IN ZONE or UNIT INSIDE ZONE to detect when players enter the area. Generally speaking = Nothing -> static object -> stationary live AI -> live AI with routes. Ground units with lengthy routes are especially costly.

Make sure it is the pilot name, not the group name and that each plane is its own group. I have used that function in a few missions of mine without issue. Are those the right parentheses? Not the normal () ? I won't be at my PC to take a look until later in the weekend but I can paste in the code if you don't find the answer by then.

TRIGGERS AND USE ACTIONS GROUP AI OFF/ON FOR GROUP OF PLANES
feefifofum replied to mosqui's topic in Mission Editor
Glad you were able to make sense of the quick & dirty explanation. There are a lot of cool things you can do with AI TASK PUSH. -
TRIGGERS AND USE ACTIONS GROUP AI OFF/ON FOR GROUP OF PLANES
feefifofum replied to mosqui's topic in Mission Editor
As you have discovered, the option does not exist for aircraft. If in flight, you can achieve a similar result by setting the options ROE -> WEAPON HOLD and REACTION TO THREAT -> NONE at the desired waypoint or through using triggered actions and AI TASK PUSH. The aircraft will fly their route, ignoring any attacks against them. If you want the plane to wait on the ramp prior to takeoff, select the group check the "uncontrolled" box next to late activation. In triggered actions add PERFORM COMMAND -> START. The plane will appear unoccupied on the ramp at mission start. When an AI TASK PUSH activates their start command, a pilot will appear inside the jet and it will spool up and perform its assigned tasking. -
Artillery units have both a minimum and maximum engagement range. Be sure the target is between the inner and outer rings.
-
AAR and formation flight get 100 times easier, SA improves dramatically...unfortunately they come at the price of target spotting due to resolution limits with current gen headsets. If you just want the experience of flight in real 3D there's absolutely nothing like it, but I still find my performance suffers vs. my combat flying on the 2D screen.

All units must be a member of the same group and within a certain proximity of each other, could that be the issue?

Posting Missions With Some Adult Language?
feefifofum replied to boo_n_817's topic in User Created Missions General
Hadn't even occured to me. I've dropped an F bomb or two. I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's largely an adult audience here. Thanks for sharing your missions. -
Remove ON PILOT DEAD. You don't need event handlers for 99% of what you're doing and more often than not end up shooting yourself in the foot if you don't understand how they work. NO EVENT checks for the trigger conditions only, which is perfectly adequate for your purposes here. When adding ON PILOT DEAD that means the conditions have to be met at the exact moment moment a PILOT DEAD event occurs and are otherwise ignored.

Late activated naval vessels do not display properly unless a client leaves and returns to the server. That's the only way I've found to correct the issue so far unfortunately.

If memory serves, per the last time this was brought up it's a deliberate choice because it is representative of meteorological maps; it makes more sense in the context of the dynamic weather in the ME. Flipping it 180 degrees in the briefing WX report for proper wind reports with respect to aviation would be appropriate, though, I agree.

Ciribob's CSAR has been the best option for the group I fly with. There are some minor issues (I.E. ejecting from a Tomcat costs the pilot 2 lives and the RIO none) but for the most part it's solid and reliable and doesn't affect performance too much. Ragnar's original MEDEVAC script still works also. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107303

Select the role and it should automatically restrict the list to aircraft capable of performing it.

Raven One: upcoming DLC campaign for F/A-18 Hornet

I can hear them now. "Oh sh@*#, look out, it's 'Picnic' flight!" Just when you thought terror couldn't know fear...
