F10 radial menu that works just like the F-14 Jester menu
feefifofum replied to HoneyBadger's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Have to offer a dissenting opinion myself...I find covering the entire screen with a giant radial menu extremely distracting. It's a necessary evil given the complexity of the interactions required with Jester, but the thought of having to use a menu that covers a large portion of my FOV while in a close fight (i.e. asking for a dope after losing someone in a merge) doesn't appeal. -
You can find a guide on using the dedicated server app here - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=233486 For now, this is not available separately so you will have to download the DCS Openbeta to the server machine as well.

F-15C The Georgian War Campaign Feedback
feefifofum replied to baltic_dragon's topic in F-15C The Georgian War
Hi Katmandu and DeltaMike, thanks for the kind words. You can open the missions in the editor, change the aircraft type, and fly them directly from the editor with the green check box. You will be unable to save the modified versions but you can freely change aircraft type. As for co-op, unfortunately this is not possible last we have heard from ED, sorry! -
Maybe with the "perform aerobatics" action but unfortunately not that I know of with regard to following a basic flight plan, if you're looking for an AI lead.
-
A few ways to do this. If you want them to never engage, simply select the group, select WP0 (or SP for Eastern units) click advanced way point actions, and click add -> set option -> ROE -> WEAPON HOLD You can also add ROE options to the triggered actions tab and set up a switched condition to toggle the ROE from hold to free when hostiles enter a certain area.

Do you know how to make Su-24 (AI) attack?
feefifofum replied to Gierasimov's topic in User Created Missions General
Have you tried making disparaging remarks about his lineage? -
The "transition to level flight" autopilot mode will trim the aircraft for you. If your speed remains constant and you don't fly into any weather it should be more or less hands off. The aircraft will retain the trim settings from the autopilot after you disable it.

If memory serves clearview disables the opaque window that appears behind text messages. There is no access to lighting; aircraft, airbase, or civilian unfortunately. Not sure what you mean by a "CP". Drones can be tasked to designate targets with the FAC - Engage Group waypoint action. Check the "visible" box to ensure the drone always sees the target. The only way I know to do conversations is TIME SINCE FLAG, outside of writing your own code, but really how else would you do it? Just be glad you can see the length of the file when you import it into the mission editor now... Open the .miz containing the template. Click the "templates" icon. Select the group in the "create template from group" menu. Once you create the template it will be stored and available in all missions. Nope. Get cozy before you ask and try to get your throttle set and your controls trimmed for relatively stable hands off flight. No idea about "Start Delay." I'd recommend taking a few minutes and experimenting with it if you're curious.

Looking for CAP blueprint
feefifofum replied to TheSauvaaage's topic in User Created Missions General
All flight plans will be generated as well as a very detailed briefing with precise times on target and ample time to start up. Once all your aircraft and reserves are depleted, you can restart the campaign. You can also freely skip missions or convert to play in multiplayer if desired. -
Single player missions ---> Multiplayer?
feefifofum replied to SolUniverse's topic in Mission Editor
That depends on the mission. Generally, as long as you don't change unit names (breaks any custom .lua script that references the aircraft) or alter flight plans etc. you won't have any issues; more elaborately scripted missions will likely require the original player aircraft to trigger events so keep that in mind; if you're shot down it's possible the rest of the mission won't work. Payware content such as DLC campaigns cannot be saved after editing and therefore cannot be flown in multiplayer. -
Correct..if you manage to kill all aircraft before being ordered to hold fire you will earn an extra 15 points. Any score over 50 is sufficient to move on to the next mission; additional factors such as a safe landing will increase your score.

Looking for CAP blueprint

Check out Mbot's Dynamic Campaign Engine here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153020 There are several entries for the Hornet and at least one for the F-14 already. PB0_CEF maintains a list of campaigns that you can find here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191858 -
We have used the L-39 for basic flight training in my group on a couple of occasions with great success. The most recent was about a year ago and everything worked well enough for our purposes.

Not exactly (with the exception of the MQ-9) but you can cause an aircraft to act like a drone by adjusting some options. At WP0 (or SP for Eastern aircraft) click "Advanced Waypoint Actions" then delete any existing items such as the default CAP or CAS tasking. Click "Add" Select set option -> reaction to threat -> no reaction Click "Add" again Select set option -> ROE -> weapon hold Now the aircraft will not take any offensive or defensive action, it will simply fly its assigned route.

.ACMI files should automatically be associated with and opened in TacView if you double click on them. If recording is enabled, .ACMI files will be saved in users/username/documents/tacview by default. You can adjust the directory in Tacview if desired.

You'll find perform command-> invisible on/off in the triggered actions menu. You can activate this using AI TASK PUSH when the desired conditions are met (MISSILE IN ZONE/UNIT INSIDE MOVING ZONE/etc.)

Many sections required a couple of replays due to helmet fires, but this has been an excellent learning tool. Thank you for putting this together! I find the detailed explanations of avionics and systems incredibly helpful for actually wrapping my head around the whole of what the Tomcat is doing rather than focusing on a few learned patterns.

F-15C The Georgian War Campaign Feedback
feefifofum replied to baltic_dragon's topic in F-15C The Georgian War
Thanks for the kind words, Cercata! We're very glad to hear you enjoyed TGW! -
Hi cercata. Yes, the second AI flight should engage the Su-25s. A bug similar to what you're described had popped up in a previous DCS build; if AI were issued a command mid-flight they would return to a previous waypoint before executing the command; it's entirely possible that bug has re-emerged. If possible, please send a link to your TacView file. Thanks!
-
Hi cercata...you wingman shouldn't move until you do. It's possible some strange behavior has been introduced in the current version of DCS. Had you done anything besides start your engine? Whenever you encounter an issue like the ones you're describing, please press the "save track" button after exiting the mission. That will create a .trk file which will let you share your actual gameplay with us; this will usually help us see what could have gone wrong. Thanks!

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!

Hey tsb; as rockrend suggests that should restore the default templates. If you wish to incorporate the realistic templates they are packaged and a .miz file. Simply open the file in the editor, select the group, click the template icon and there should be a button to create a new template from that group.

Difference between BVR and LRS mode--F15C
feefifofum replied to testudine2002's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Range While Search, not Range While Scan. Just FYI. A launch without lock is called maddog, not pitbull. When launched with lock, it will not follow your RADAR reflections like a SARH missile, but rather receive initial data and course corrections based on information from your aircraft RADAR before turning on its own for terminal guidance. It is still possible for the internal RADAR to acquire the incorrect target if multiple aircraft are in close proximity to each other, so don't think it's a magic bullet if you're dealing with a furball. With guidance from your own RADAR and in ideal conditions (head on, high closure rate, high altitude, minimal defensive maneuvers) the AIM-120 is capable of reaching targets well beyond 30 nautical miles away.
