You mean other way around ED/HB? -

Can it do it's real life manouvers now without overperforming in a straight line at low alt? -
If you loose a TWS lock for instance it can guide itself to calculated intercept location and go active on it's own. Could perhaps lead to more instances of where the missile will go active instead of being trashed. It will also be able to do so without the specific command coming from the AWG9/WCS. And perhaps in STT it will be guided much like an AMRAAM. With midcourse guidance and then active in the last phase instead of a Fox 1 all the way. (Altough I am not 100% sure on this)
-
Afaik the two motor failures were because of improper handling/mounting by ground crew.
-
No, not without editing pilot lua binds file. (resets after every patch). It's a bit problematic however, because you can't ask him to mark a specific target on the TID.

AWG-9 - AWG-9/AIM54 Cooling Switch in the RIO Pit
Comstedt86 replied to Darkdiz's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Forward is both. -
There is a setting in special options which dissables Jesters auto PDSTT > PSTT when entering 10nm or whatever the range is, this can sometimes mess up a Fox 1 launch in STT. But randomly loosing a lock most of the seems weird. What ranges? I suspect if you are in PDSTT it could be due ti notching, however a PSTT lock is hard to loose even in look down situation.

Another comp nerfs the 14 because of 'issues'
Comstedt86 replied to Kula66's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Is there any evidence of this being an actual F-14 vs AIM-120 problem? Because since ED's large 120 update it's been acting up against any target at times. -
Try reading it again.

My Phoenixes get notched quite a lot during look down and when target is in notch, especially in hilly terrain. And regarding the BOMBER ONLY missile title that keeps geting thrown around I believe that was mainly given the limitations of AWG-9 & TWS at the time and not that the missile itself had any problems with manouvering targets. There were tests made where it had no problems at all following small high G manouvering targets.
-
This rarely happens though, usually only if contact was lost few seconds before going active anyway. If target was manouvering in any way it will not go active even if track is held my AWG/WCS. By limitatios of DCS target needs to be in a certain box/area during held track or the Phoenix will not go active even if countdown goes to zero.

AWG-9 track not breakable with jammer yet
Comstedt86 replied to Max1mus's topic in Bugs and Problems
If I understand correctly the HB F-14 has one of the most realistic implementations of how a radar transmits and receives information along with the 37? Would that alao mean it would be the most afflicted radar if proper ECM is implemented compared to other simplified aircraft radars? -

Don't feed the troll He made it his goal in life to blame HB/F-14 for all problems in DCS perhaps. I feel like TWS tracks are quite unreliable as is, either he is doing zero manouvering as his RWR lights up or the 54 is already active before he realizes. Who knows -
PSA: F-14 Performance/FM Development Status + Guided Discussion
Comstedt86 replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Damn, no more spaceships? Was kind of hilarious. -
Isn't the "not against fighters" mostly because earlier doctrine and somewhat AWG-9 limitations? Supply of AIM-54s were quite limited early on IIRC and the primary threat and target were bombers / attack aircraft which threatened the fleet. Perhaps this was a reason it was not to be employed against fighters? Was this perhaps changed later on and especially with the C version because of it's massive improvement in guidance.

The AIM-54C should be able to active on its own.

The 54C will be able to go active on its own ingame soon. -

In what way is the MK60 overperforming? If so on what level should the C47 be in. And is it perhaps the Aim120 that is underperforming in comparison? I'm having alot more trouble notching / loosing 120s than 54s for sure and they seem to reacquire alot more. The 54 from what I have seen usually goes dumb after loosing lock. -
Actually your GPU will have a harder time, which is very good news since as it stands now it's mostly the CPU doing all the work.

It's all in his signature, believe he has a 4770k with 8gb of ram and a GTX 980 Ti if my mind doesn't fail me.

Most likely boxy to save performance, no real reason to have them too well done :P

Played for a few hours, haven't seen any QTEs yet :)

Anyone else noticed that the site is down ? Could this be something about EDGE & 2.0 perhaps? Anything is a sign if your willing to believe it, lol http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ Site under construction. Please try again later.
