  1. Don't know if you are flying for an hour and landing, or just running on the ground. Air and landing. Check you temps when you shut down. If they're too high, you could try: - letting it cool down - start with throttle closed and cycling through the fuel mixture settings one cycle per second - ground power? Was the generator running while flying? Not sure if DCS models battery drain, but it's a thought. - Fuel tank on vapors?? Try the other tank and be sure the booster wasn't accidentally shut off. If it shut down on the ground (why would a pilot idle on the ground an hour?), you likely overheated it and damaged it.
  2. Black cats are good luck...
  3. I'm looking to upgrade my power supply to solve some cable issues and get ready for a GPU upgrade down the road. I've seen various ratings such as gold, bronze, etc... After deciding on a power rating, how important is the energy rating system mentioned above? Realistically, do the higher ratings equate to measurable energy savings and reliability? What power supplies do you use?
  4. Close enough. That's what I tell myself so I don't go nuts. Close enough. Because when it's ready, it's READY. And I doan want no screwball jacked-up rush job. But yeah, I quietly wonder about release dates, too.
  5. I run my engine with oil rad open for a 15 count. Keeps it cool. I can run hard in a fight and not lose the engine. Still gets hot, but not as quickly, and it cools better when I dive.
  6. A view from inside the cockpit, from a fixed camera mount, would be the best indicator, from my opinion. A camera man may not be steady, and is moving to track a fly by. As for rudder, I have no issues using rudder to line up and HOLD position if need be. Sometimes I don't have time to trim the rudder to correct slip. Using rudder pedals to get slip centered is valid - if you can pull it off. Generally, when I'm pressed for time, it is because I'm pretty close to the target, so my accuracy requirements reduce by a tad. Anyway, I sometimes fire 2 or 4 on a pass, very quickly, and they tend to cancel out the recoil motion, especially on the 3rd and 4th. Works for me....
  7. Clipped... :::ducking:::
  8. KingPuoiy, visit again and check your forum e-mail. He might have gotten back to you... The bosses live full time lines like us. :music_whistling:
  9. I'm looking forward to fighting it like original pilots did. It looks to have been a flipping beast when handled right. Up there on my list of curiosities is the damage model - will it handle damage in a way like the stories we've heard?
  10. The piano reference was to a Luftwaffe pilot and his comments in a video posted here recently. I was adapting it to the "subtly" of just how much the anticipation weighs upon me. Had nothing to do with landing in this usage...
  11. Thank you Silent, that does help. I appreciate it, man.
  12. My SiL downloaded a great piece of art, showing two awesome lions at rest. Darned image went to the level of individual fur strands. He found a service online that will take artwork and print it on art paper. He has a 2x3' framed lion print. I'm sure you could find something similar. They printed it, rolled it and stuffed it in a tube for shipping. Really cool. I'm not sure if there is a high enough resolution version of that image, for printing purposes, but one of the guys might know. I think d0o0m did the work, or Whip, but I'm in no way certain. But yeah. It is CLASSIC in it2 display, no? I'm looking forward to my DoW mug and shirt - en route. I think THIS PIC should be available on our DoW Store in shirt mode. I'd wear that all over town.
  13. I can upload pics, but I don't see a means to display them within a post. My search didn't turn up any leads... Got hints??
  14. YES. Scheduled and advertised. I'd love to see multiple ShadowPlay recording from such an event, clipped and edited for a cool movie memory of the event. Now that MP Tracks are more reliable than not, such information makes for some great shots! Yesterday was fun out there in River Raiders. Lots of pilots and lots of action. Even some hunter /killer stuff. I like the way things are "playing out."
  15. "I don't want another login....." It takes me no longer than 8 seconds to type the password, hit enter, and start flying with an excellent group of people... for FREE. "Judged?" I'm HAPPY to be judged. Seriously, for a server that offers a HUGE mission rotation, TS3 with Allied /Axis channels, great guys and a secure stable environment --- JUDGE ME! I call it an HONOR to be judged and found acceptable. Chief and the gang are in no way unfair or inconsiderate. They take great care to provide a quality server. The only real thought I ever gave to the password issue was how to GET ONE and keep flying! I have it. That, in itself, is a badge of honor.
  16. P-40 will be my next ride, then the Spit, but only because.... THE P-47 DIDN'T GET HERE FIRST. :pilotfly: Being patient. Mmm hmmmm. With just a touch of anticipation. Like when a piano falling from the 7th floor touches yer head. :D
  17. Come on over to the forum, BlitzPuppet, and register. http://webfortress.com/dogsofwar/forum/
  18. Nice interview. Interesting what he said about being surprised by the reaction to input of the sim plane. The story about landing with his pal at the parents' village. Afterward, he went into that thoughtful look, downward. Seen many times in my interviews with WWII pilots. I asked a couple times.... and our boys told me they were thinking about how their friends died. In the war, or after. After all those years, their buddies are still missed. No different than us today. I had opportunity to speak with a 109 pilot. He was a big man, much larger than I thought would fit into the plane. He said he didn't fight "for the party." He fought for Germany, to slow the Allied win in hopes a better peace could be sought. Much like Kreigsmarine captains. It was a good talk.
  19. Super secret hyper-dynomatic-gravitronic-magnetoperiffic warping device used on B-29s in a test environment. None of the B-29s every RTB'd, but they are seen now and then wandering about....
  20. Cool video. I love the escort footage. Fantastic flying. Both you guys NEED to be regulars!
  21. I like the Dvorak music, man.
  22. I had similar membership feelings, SeaQuark.
  23. Password protected. I was too excited to check earlier.
  24. cleared
