Will I have my Spitfire for Christmas?
HeadHunter52 replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
Scream, that was beautiful. I'm wiping a tear from my eye. Blessed, sir. Just blessed. *sniffle* -
16 GB now installed. Memory usage still climbs up and up, but at 1/2 the rate (since percentage now works with 2x capacity). I don't see the problem going away, but I am now putting it off a bit.

Player List Missing from MP Server List
HeadHunter52 replied to HeadHunter52's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Thanks, greg. It is back again. Maybe something in my system hiccuped, but I had to let it sit there for about 20 minutes in SP before the MP list would come in. Probably my system.... Thanks for the reply -
Before the most recent bug update, (Hot Fix 3?), we could see who was on a MP server simply by selecting it with one click from the MP server list. This allowed us to quickly see who was where among the universe of servers. This is now gone, and we have to join a server to see who is there, as in DCS 1.2. Can we get this very convenient feature reinstated?

Hmmmm. Possible there was more than one memory issue. Either way, it will get fixed. I put another 8GB in today for 16 total. I'll get to fly soon, but for kicks, I logged into the ACG server and started up a 'Stang. My RAM usage meter left me lots of room at the start. Promising.

That sucks. But it's cool you came out of surgery ok. I hope you heal up quickly.

50 m/s? That was awesome! Take about wind over the deck. Amazing it didn't blow head of tail down the runway.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
HeadHunter52 replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
There's an FB-111A near me. These "reference photos" - I'm assuming they are particular angles, subjects and with some form of measuring scheme, right? I'd be game to working with the museum to get photos if ED or a dev is interested. -
Same issue here. The suggestions didn't help. Without TrackIR running, I'm smooth as silk, and can use keyboard view positioning without tearing. Get TrackIR into the game, and I'm tearing screens like a Clinton shredder.

F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
HeadHunter52 replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
and, a better quality box can be made if the flashy graphics and labels costs are instead put into more rigid cardboard. It's not nice to see your package arrive, and discover that the OOPS guys damaged the box. You should see the box my PC case came in. It's now in use as a play box for a 14lb cat with the spirit of a tiger. Hasn't crushed it yet! -
I'm going to take a long shot guess here and say it has something to do with availability of aircraft. Seems devs are fond of having the plane in hand for measurements and other such thing. just a guess........

I agree. Memory leaks are a huge issue. And for those with minimum RAM, such as 8GB, we feel it the most.

Is this a client side cfg file that needs creation? Will it help with MP crashes on the players' side of things? What is the whole file content, name and location?

Multiplayer connection speed setting gone?
HeadHunter52 replied to Breakshot's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Is this something we have to create? If not, where is it? Did a search on .config and found nothing in my DCS folders. -
jejsus' comments match my experience. SP is fine. Aside from the obvious frustration with this, I get to wondering about the mechanics of the issue. It is somewhat fascinating - the inner workings of memory management and server /client interaction. I hope it is a simple thing for the ED folks to rectify. 1.5 is a beautiful thing. When it works, my FPS is up, I can SEE and HIT targets. The visual feedback make my flying better. It is worth the issues right now, and I'm getting some great practice in SP.

MUSTANG RIDERS 1 on 1 tournament for DCS: World's P-51D Mustang
HeadHunter52 replied to Maler's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Congrats jOONAS and MALER. That was a great series. I hope to join in onone in the future. Loved watching the videos, even with the Russian commentary, hehe. -
Pretty much. Be the odd duck that DOESN'T cruise along saying, "No one there, I'll stay away." If you join up, someone will say, "Hey, there's a diffdrent duck, I'll goo take a look-see." And then there were three..... ..... until the MP server crashed from memory leak.

Virtual Memory settings were 12000 - 24000. Set them to system controlled, and the game crashed, after a clean reboot, before I could get into the cockpit. I watched RAM climb from about 31% at game launch and reach 51% at the crash - no freeze this time, but a "DCS Has Stopped Working. Windows is searching yadda yadda yadda..." New ZIP file with the new DMP and CRASH appended. Logs.zip

System RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600 CPU: C2D 3.6GHz GPU: GTX 750Ti 2GB While flying P-51D in MP, system RAM continually increases, and game will stutter the screen, run for a few seconds then the screen will freeze. The last image will stay put. I can Ctl Alt Del to task manager and close DCS. Leaving the image on screen for a while does not result in a recovery. Sometimes, Windows will say DCS stopped working. Sound may continue for a few seconds after the screen freezes. All other Windows system functions continue, and I can keep talking with others on TeamSpeak. Attached 3 DMP and CRASH files in a zip. MUSTANG RIDERS 1 on 1 tournament for DCS: World's P-51D Mustang

The 262 will be rather more effective in sim than IRL. Like the man said, there will be training time like nobody's business, and pilots will learn how to fight the thing, with whatever flight model there is. It's not something I would put into a sim without some serious limitations.

Open canopy and Alt-J. Works on the Mustang. You can move about with the joystick. Forward, backward, and slide side to side. To change direction, use rudder. I recently bailed out very low. My pilot opened chute and survived. Plane crashed a few 100 yards away. I recorded this, and the walk up to the wreckage. Also the dogfight going on over his shoulder.... pretty cool. One day, I may see if I can walk back to base and jump in a new plane.

Pman, I was ready to jump on the wagon and say "Heck yah! Texan!" But, I have to say it would be worlds better to have flyable combat aircraft. The only way I could see a Texan in DCS is the armed version. Even then, it'll be cut to pieces, and no one would fly it except to say they did. P-47 is already on the way. So's the Spit. That takes care of Allied fighters with some staying power. Need bombers, and a Normandy map. B-25 flyable, and B-17 AI with working guns. He-111 /110 perhaps.
