I get the same bug in the same situation too. It’s been a thing for awhile actually. They warm up one at a time after a rearm.

The only real difference between 55 and 56, aside from some internal fixes, is you get a thumb axis on the stick instead of just a button, and the throttle thumb axis can now be depressed as a button also, and seems to work better as an axis. When the Hornet came out, I upgraded to the 56 because it allowed me to get closer to the actual setup (A10C too). I use the stick thumb axis as bands to activate key presses, allowing me to use it for weapon select in the 18 and CMS in the A10. Up to you to decide if this feature is worth the cost of upgrade. Note though that I find the centering of the 56 to be less precise than the 55, there’s a bit of wiggle in the center.

Here ya go! https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3225673 Also excellent is this afterburner detent. Had a friend print it for me and it lines up perfectly with the software detent in game. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2370066

The new one I just bought came with an attachment for the handrest that raises it up a bit, just enough to make the controls on the top reachable without moving my hand. Did yours come with one? If not, I think thingverse has a 3D model for one.

You are reading attitude where none exists. G’night!

Are you actually firing the laser? You need to either set up auto lase in the DSMS or manually fire it with the NWS switch. Look for the flashing L in the TGP Edit: disregard, reread and saw you set auto lase. I second the above - tms up long to set TGP as spi

Does the indicated fuel account for unuseable fuel? In every aircraft I’ve flown, the fuel gauge is calibrated to not include unuseable fuel, and the unuseable is factored into the weight and balance for the empty weight of the aircraft (ie 0 fuel weight actually includes the unuseable stuff) Is the Tomcat the same, or are we going to have to hold 700-800 on the totalizer in addition to a normal reserve?

RAM: For 32 GB, 2x16 or 4x8?
Sandman1330 replied to CL30's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It’s more of an issue if you’re using a quad channel capable chipset, but only 2 sticks. You would be leaving a lot of memory bandwidth on the table in that scenario. Ryzen (first gen for sure) is still finicky about RAM, and definitely overclocks better with only 2 sticks, vice 4. Intel may be different, or you maybe got lucky :) Also Ryzen users tend to go 3000+ on the memory since Ryzen likes fast RAM. Maybe that makes a difference in the 2v4 stick argument too. -
RAM: For 32 GB, 2x16 or 4x8?
Sandman1330 replied to CL30's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What chipset are you using? If you are using Z170/270/370/390 or Ryzen you should use 2, as you have dual channel RAM. If on threadripper or x299/399 for X series intel chips, go 4 sticks, as you have quad channel ram. Btw - I love my 32gb or RAM. -
This is a good afterburner option for X55/56. A friend printed it for me and it works perfectly, also lines up perfectly with the software location of the detent in DCS (no axis tuning necessary) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2370066

Yup - there’s a sprag clutch that (functionally if not mechanically) acts like the pedal clutch on a mountain bike. You pedal and provide power, it engages and drives the wheel. Stop pedalling and let it freewheel, and it disengages and lets it coast. (The pedals are the engine and the wheel is the rotor in this analogy) This is why, even with the engines running, an aggressive flare or low collective setting can allow the rotor to exceed limits on the high side, while the engines just sit at idle.

I already did, they marked it not a bug :dunno: -
[MISSING TRACK FILE] Radar problems and missile select problem
Sandman1330 replied to =4c=Nikola's topic in Bugs and Problems
Same. Easily replicated, happens every time we air spawn on my server. You need to switch between AIM120/AIM9 modes back and forth a couple of times, then it starts working. I ended up (kind of) reporting it in this thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=226032 -
Thanks Rich. Float the idea at the next staff meeting maybe? :) And what about the X65F? Any talk of resurrecting the force sensing stick?

I’m not on a high horse. I’m saying you get what you pay for. I can’t afford a i9 9900K and 2080ti, and I accept that my frame rates will be lower as a result. I can’t afford a Ferrari, so I accept that my 0-60 time will be slower. I bought a stick for half the price of the competition, I accept that it will not be perfect. I don’t want to see Logitech pull out of this market again, leaving us with only the expensive options to choose from. Competition is good. And my assumptions are correct. You want twist, all those buttons and options that you can’t get elsewhere, and bullet proof quality, guess what? At this price point you can’t have it all. First world problems.

[CANNOT REPRODUCE] AG Gun CCIP off since 22652
Sandman1330 replied to Eldur's topic in Bugs and Problems
Happened to me again today. I had previously dropped 2xMK82 and fired several rockets. Only happens once in a blue moon... latest open beta. -
If you aren’t happy with it then return it and go pay twice as much for something else. It has cheap parts because it’s a cheap stick. You get what you pay for, can’t have it all. You can buy two of these for the price of the next competitor, but what you get with the 56 is a pretty good value.
-
Have you tried only plugging one in at a time and trying to map it? Unplug the stick and try mapping the throttle?
-
Guys, don’t barrage LOGIRich with complaints on stuff he probably doesn’t even have the ability to fix. Besides, through 2 X55s and an X56, I’ve had no issues with throttle stiffness. Back off the resistance wheel and secure it down (I use Velcro tape), and it works great. Out of all 3 I’ve had, never needed to even crack it open (except to fix wiring on the 55). My only complaint is the sloppy centering that seems to have started with the X56, but you get what you pay for to a degree. Even more expensive ones have issues too. My question for Rich is whether Logitech has considered marketing an extension for the X55/56, as the design would be very simple given the coupling system that they use. This would help mitigate the centering issues for me and help it compete with the warthog.
-
What - is that a typo, or are they actually redoing the X65?? If the button layouts are the same, this may be the solution to my centering problem... the force sensing is very precise. I could use my X56 for helo flying and the 65 for jets...

VR trackIR Like non 1:1 pointer mouvement
Sandman1330 replied to Neurowork's topic in DCS Core Wish List
In VR, this would be a recipe for motion sickness! But if you’ve got the stomach for it... -
I use the software, no major issues. I use it to turn the stick thumb axis into key presses so I can use it for weapon select on the hornet and cms on the A10 My major issue with the new one is it has a lot more slop in the center, necessitating a large deadzone. Also, I wish they’d build an extension for it. Would be very easy with the threaded couplings! I tried to build one myself using the couplings from a dead X55, but the wiring didn’t cooperate.
