  1. Being a noob to this A/C and recognizing it's current dev state I have just a few quick questions/comments...other than it's a blast t o fly. No documentation at all? No Position, Anti-Collision or Formation LIGHTS? No TAD screen showing Mission Flight Plan? I'm still struggling with that whole display logic.
  2. @Timex3....I know NOTHING about this A/C, just started flying it a couple days ago....but.... Not sure whether certain skins are required but this was a simple one. It did NOT require a Ground Attack or CAS mission when I first did it. Maybe you have an older version...this is v6.8.2 I d/l'd the other day.
  3. My WSO, can you guess why I prefer doing the backseat startup myself...besides the 35kgs of 'bling'? Does not take instructions or procedures well
  4. Cool brother, and if we can co-op on stuff for the 'community' I'm thrilled to share as I have seen you do throughout the various forums.
  5. VAICOM doesn't use VA? I thought VAICOM kind of resides inside or on top of VA, now I'm curious what else I've been missing, and maybe why my COMS can be a mess sometimes. I use a VAICOM profile inside VA. Is this 'old school' sh#t I've missed somewhere along the journey?
  6. @MAXsenna I did with VA initially but requires a bunch of keybinds, and then I used a Shared Profiles to keep it separate it from Viacom DCS profile . Worked fine except some mentioned they didn't use VA so I went off on this route. I honestly don't know sh#t about 'DCS-BIOS' but willing to dive in to learn some more if you want to point me in that direction.
  7. That is quite remarkable, dare I ask how many terabytes there are In any case I recently saw a thread discussing SSD/HD sizes, and people whining about skins they would never use occupying space. In that particular thread I stand with Rudel that we don't need some 'DCS Mod Global Skin Police' mandating what is possibly available but, with no disrespect intended, I certainly don't give sh#t about an F/A-18 skin from the non-existent Liechtenstein Navy. Then again, I might want C-130 decked out in red with green holly for Santa to fly from the North Pole. My question is whether there is some small footprint 3rd party utility viewer available that could quickly display the various 'skinned aircraft' OUTSIDE of DCS, so people could delete them from \Liveries\[aircraft]\ directory. I look at the DDS files with a common viewer XnViewer but can't really make heads or tails as to what this plane really looks like in a side profiled view like INSIDE DCS.
  8. @Sedlo...I started this little project off after reading VR folks complain about not having a WSO Startup and the challenges of swapping seats via keyboard WITH VR headsets on. I'm also too old & lazy to swap seats myself. Initially I was planning to use VA but soon after my initial success I realized some folks don't use that either. I don't know how to write a 'batch routine', in DCS-speak, or how to implement but @Rudel_chw gave me the clue of 'triggers' which I explored to come to this ending. I am a secret member of a US based rogue band of mercenaries that fly quietly and independent of 'official' US military support...mostly. But we do have access to virtually all AC necessary for the tasks in hand. Hence, solo, single player simmin' is our creed (SSPS). But please don't tell anyone. We really enjoy dumping precision warheads on well defended cartel drug labs throughout the Syria, Persian Gulf, South Atlantic the Pacific. Membership is FREE
  9. Well sounds like some fun to try before you guys & gals build my high fidelity aircraft. I can't really fly in A2A combat with sh#tty eyes but love the thought of running some transport between ground pounding missions. Thanks
  10. Yurgon, can you comment on where DCS is on this as a aircraft? I'd love to fly a transport and might do this MOD temp (if it still works) IF DCS is going that direction. A transport A/C in a campaign would be awesome. Sign me up!
  11. Anybody tell me where the latest version of this is? Is it the Page 1 version, 6.8.2?
  12. Negative on MIC WSO panel, my problem is ICS > (Stby-Auto-Man). I think it should be set to Auto at Startup but not sure. Here are the WSO devices I'm activating at WSO Startup, only RED line is not successful. The current position of them in the images are AFTER my Triggers. The 4 displays are also on. I'm using the NUCLEAR option!!!!! since it ain't used elsewhere that I know of. Simple MIZ attached, and appreciate any comments, suggestions, and critique 1) Start in normal Front Seat and Trigger pops open the Nuke Switch Cover after 10s (just for testing). 2) ARM the Nuke Switch, followed by a temp Tone and Msg (just for testing), then the BackSeat gets sorted out as planned. 13. @Rudel_chw....I have an unused cockpit switch and have setup a series of Triggers as you suggested to do a basic WSO Startup procedure using: X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION & X: START LISTEN COMMAND ...so far works like a charm I'm really not familiar enough with this aircraft and WSO but think I got enough started in the WSO seat to takeoff without hopping back & forth.. The only piece missing now is the WSO - Left Panel - ICS > Auto, (which may not be addressable at this time via keybind or trigger device). It would be really nice if this could be somehow copy/pasted or 'templated' to another mission. I think that's part of what you were referring to in another ME Wishlist post the other day. Thank you very much for your insights, suggestions and help...I've learned a lot from your responses.
  14. @Rudel_chw...am I following your suggestion correctly here; an ability to create a Trigger Event or Events that are somewhat independent of the actual mission, something like a DLL, then it can be referenced or copy/pasted into other missions? Ex: a series of X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTIONs that reference a Unit, that performs a series on instructions. Then can be introduced as a sort of 'block or batch' in another mission MIZ.
  15. It's REAL...it's BIG....my loading time went from over 3.30 mins to 50secs, fastest it's loaded in long time. Thank you DCS guys & gals....
  16. I have a workaround that does the trick for me. I'm NON-VR but too old & lazy to jump in the back seat. Right now I have the following in my WSO Startup sequence that initialize thru a VA command 'Backseat Startup after I both engine starts, it all happens in about 5 seconds : TGT Pod - WSO - STBY, All 4 displays - WSO - ON, RWR - WSO - ON, EWWS - WSO - ON, COUNTERMEASURE MODE - WSO- Semi-Auto I'm really not familiar yet with what other basic systems need to be turned ON from WSO seat but would continue this process if some folks can let me know what other systems need to be turned on and in what position from WSO. (On - Off - Standby - ???). Once I sort out the non-standardized crypto language of the LUAs, I can do this for the non-VA pilots with a switch in the front seat.
  17. So a simple keystoke or combo cannot initiate an Event to Trigger? If you wanted to 'Group Activate' a flight (not your flight) to perform an action like begin their launch & preplanned route from Carrier to point X at YOUR arbitrary command, could this be accomplished? If you wanted to spawn or activate a flight of enemy AI at YOUR arbitrary command will, can that be done? If I found a 'unused cockpit control' how do I set a Trigger to test it's current state or Trigger an Event automatically on a change of state value. I'm looking at ME>Triggers> Conditions > X:Cockpit Parm Value Equal to but not sure how to test the change with a simple 'Sound to Unit' in response
  18. Ok, given this hopefully temp situation is it possible to make some edit, in some DCS LUA, INI, CFG or ??? that would allow me to change my overall resolution manually BEFORE launching DCS icon? I want to work on a project where I don't need my usual 2560x1080 res, but instead want 1600x900 so I can use the remainder of the screen. But the current 4+ minute loading time means I waste almost 10 minutes getting set up.
  19. Is it possible activate a Trigger Event thru a keyboard action? In other words can I set up some unassigned keyboard combination (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) that will initialize a Trigger Event to do something as simple as Ex: 'Close Canopy', then 'Anti-Skid ON', then more using X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION Yes, I know there is a keyboard function(s) for this (it's just a simple example) but I'm thinking about a pseudo-script in ME Triggers that will do a series of actions in the cockpit at the press of a keyboard combo. As a follow-up...could I then activate the same Trigger Event via Voice Attack? Example: By assigning a VA action to words 'Let's GO' > KeyPress (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) this could theoretically trigger the 2 events in my example above. Yes, I know I can do this directly thru VA but I actually want to do a series of 5+ Cockpit actions and VA is not as friendly IMHO in this kind of pseudo-scripting for .
  20. Is there an updated DOC available for the 2.8 world, or is this complete? THanks
  21. So it is what it is, another beta issue that ED will hopefully address in coming updates. This was identified back in June under DCS World 2.8 > Bugs and Problems >Installation Problems which is why I missed it in searches. See below for additional info and suggestions on which cocktails can be made to occupy your time while loading. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/328744-obnoxious-dcs-startup-times-since-28641393-openbeta-mt-around-120-seconds/
  22. Having read thru all this and grasping the concept of not eating, drinking, farting or burping during Alignment, I didn't see anything about gently settling in the backseat and turning on basic electronics; switches, radios, screens, blah, blah, blah. Anybody comment on that?
  23. It seems that 2.8 has perhaps introduced so much more ????? that my program loading time from launching on desktop icon to being fully loaded is over 3 minutes. Is it just me and my computer or is everyone experiencing massive loading times? Computer specs posted below. Note 'Eagle Dynamics' resides alone and complete on D:Eagle (447GB SanDiskSSD) as opposed to a normal C:\Eagle Dynamics location. This launch time is AFTER a reboot (soft or hard) with only TrackIR, VoiceAttack, Razer Synapse (Razer Orbweaver controller program) running AND anti-virus turned OFF. Furthermore, once DCS up & running it will take almost a minute to launch a very basic MIZ of 4 a/c on tarmac cold, where the entire earth it seems is covered by water for the first 10-15 seconds before the land, airfield, continent emerges. Actual play is pretty good with normal 55-60fps except some inflight scenery locations dropping to 30fps. Is this my ancient hardware, program size or some other anomaly?
  24. I think I have plan for this, even though I'm not VR'ing, but I need to know which switches in WSO seat need to be in what position during Startup. I've watched various Startup videos but they all seem to vary, or ignore that crew position to get up fast. Ex: TGT Pod - WSO - STBY Let me know and I'll hopefully resolve this for both VR and non-VR.
  25. Some here are arguing for the sake of arguing. There has been several tweaks suggested in the 'now world', and several fixes suggested for future dev work. Enough is enough, can we get back to more important issues like fixing the Subway Tuna sandwich dilemma, or even more important; you can't chomp down on a Subway Tuna sandwich while the INS is in alignment for fear of moving the aircraft 1 nanometer?
