It's not there yet. You can create it yourself. I made a youtube video a while ago that explains how to add key bindings. Perhaps I need to redo it with a little more prep and focus. Add these lines to your joystick or keyboard default.lua {down = 3520, cockpit_device_id = 9, value_down = 1, name = _('DECS On'), category = _('Engine & Fuel')}, {down = 3520, cockpit_device_id = 9, value_down = 0, name = _('DECS Off'), category = _('Engine & Fuel')},

Nothing beats the hog for loiter time. At low level in the AV8B you're easily going to use 10-12,000 PPH with a combat load and decent speed, and if you like throttle it'll drink 18,000 PPH+ at sea level. Compared to the A-10C which maxes out at less than 7,000 PPH IIRC. You can get the AV8B down around 6,000PPH at angels 30 with a good cruising speed. You drink a lot more fuel in the AV8B but you also spend half the time transiting to and from the AO. For a more practical example, I can take off from Batumi with a 4 Mavericks, a gun, two AIM9s, and a full internal load of fuel (~7,800LBS IIRC). I can fly all the way to Sokhumi, shack four tanks, and return to Batumi with 4,000LBS of fuel upon touchdown.

Probably, but I have many, many hours in the Huey and never mast bump. I have a good idea of what I can get away with. My biggest suggestion for anyone having trouble in the Huey is just get in as much seat time as you can, it'll come to you with enough practice.

That hasn't been a a problem for me. I posted this video in response to another user who claimed the needles don't split and it's impossible to auto-rotate after an engine failure. You can watch my control inputs at the time of engine failure. I do know the very worst place to move the cyclic in the Huey is full aft and left, don't do that.

Warthog button not recognised in Alpha (works in beta)
Deezle replied to epoch's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I don't use that button for anything normally, but yes I did map it to cage/uncage for the AV8B in 2.2 and it works fine. Perhaps manually map it to BTN1 and see if it works. -

Works fine for me. -
I'm not going to stomp M3's/LN's guts out because of their passion. I get it, DCS is an amazing platform. But teasing the community over something that frankly didn't warrant the teasing was not a good plan. You didn't see this level of vitriol over the very understated Yak-52 announcement. I wish you guys luck.

I've never found a more useless weapon in DCS. Even if you get the damn thing to burst, good luck actually killing anything with it. Seriously, don't bother with it.

Holidays are coming: Warthog or VKB

I never really have had too many problems with my TMWH. I had a wire at the grip connector break a couple times, nothing a few minutes with a soldering iron coulnd't fix. Also the rubber washer eventually spit out of the gimbal, luckily I have a laser and teflon sheets at work, a few minutes and I made a new one (you can buy them to). Of course I shouldn't have had these issues, but I'm a tinkerer/handyman by nature, I don't let a few things here and there get me down. I've had better luck with the throttle, but recently my boat switch did become flaky, that could be my fault, I've bumped it quite hard getting in and out of my pit a number of times. I got a Gunfighter Pro last spring, it actually took quite a bit of getting used to coming from a WH gimbal, but now I quite like it. I will say if crank up the dry clutches, I get some sticktion just like with the TMWH. I don't regret getting either, and the TMWH grip on the GfP is just awesome, combined with the TMWH throttle. -
It's just like the A-10C. You can go into the F161.lua and F162.lua and add the missing commands from the default.lua you'd like to be able to map to them or you just delete both of them and manually map them.

With Anti-skid on, it will enter caster mode when you release the parking brake.

You can't export analog gauges without third party software. Many displays and such can be exported using the sim only, such as the CMSP from the A-10C, ect. But analog gauges don't work the same, you need third party software to draw and animate the gauges. I've found the Ikarus software to be quite simple and easy to use, and it doesn't interfere with my simshaker software like Helios did. It also has pre-made instrument panels for most DCS aircraft.

I think the Mk20 might be the most useless weapon in DCS. I never bother using it anymore.
-
Actually the A-10C has had that for a while now. And yes the CCD mavs still need 3 minutes to become usable.

Can we export the MFDs to a 2nd screen like the A10?
Deezle replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in AV-8B N/A
He just said he's adding an option, the current implementation will remain an option. -
This will do it. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179525

All the videos I can find show the screens have yellow text/symbology, which matches what I'm seeing in my game...

Is there a reason both the AV8B and M2000 require a separate key bind to activate the external viewports? None of the other modules require this. -
Just did my first cold start and Harrier flight, did a vertical takeoff right from the ramp, came back around and did a vertical landing on the runway. Probably the coolest thing I've ever done in DCS :D

It does indeed run much cooler than before! My initial concerns about adding engine damage to the current EGT model was all for nothing because BST indeed cooled her off a bit I'm glad to say!
-
That's great to hear, I always thought the Huey ran a little hot. Can't wait to try it out, downloading currently!
-
Not true at all. The EGT limitations of the Huey are very easy to exceed as it's currently modeled. The Gazelle is quite easy to keep within limits.
-
Agreed, turning the camera 90º to port as it leans out the window throws my cyclic control all off.

SOLD I machined this years ago and used it for a long time, but since I've transitioned to a VKB stick, I no longer need it. Includes the modified ps2 cable needed. Buyer assumes all risk with the added forces on their WH gimbal from the extension. DO NOT over-tighten! $30 shipped, US only. Buyer covers paypal fee.

I did an A-10C startup video using my pit.
