Triple monitor low frame rate issue
Deezle replied to cptwenky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Here's a JSGME compatible mod I made, I believe I uploaded this before the Viggen was out but it should include every other module. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzWFYrRiVfk8cEtwbXhxMkhoUjA You can search for JSGME guides if you're unsure what that is. It's a mod manager, and since every DCS update removes mods, it's a good idea to use it. Be aware that this mod isn't integrity check compliant for servers that use it. ED really needs to fix this. There's a way to add all aircraft to the server.lua file, which passes the integrity check, however some online missions override your own server.lua with theirs, and the host usually has no idea they're doing it. Again, something ED really needs to fix. -
Has anybody asked Oculus to allow a different mapping? Being unable to use my CDU (which I built using a keyboard input board, so it acts like a keyboard) when I have to enter the number 5 is going to drive me nuts.

The way I see it, we aren't being charged extra for the assets, we're being given the option of opting out of them and saving some money. If a person doesn't care for WW2 scenarios, they don't have to buy the assets, and if they don't care about WW2 scenarios, they won't be joining a WW2 server anyways. This isn't fracturing anything. Forcing people to buy assets they have no interest in, in order for them to buy a map they like, won't somehow make them join your WW2 server and play with you. TIL: I'm fracturing the community by not joining servers I don't care for

I'm placing my money on sometime around the 2 year mark since 1.5 was released.

Triple monitor low frame rate issue

I'd suggest using a standard 5760x1080 single viewport resolution (not the 3 screen option from the drop down menu) You don't need surround to do this in DCS, just make sure your left monitor is your main monitor. As you noted with a single viewport the default FOV is too narrow, you can change this buy editing the server.lua for some aircraft and the view.lua for other aircraft. 160º max works well. -
I don't recall, does that mission start you with 100% fuel? It seems like most of them do. I'd recommend editing the payload before the mission starts and reducing your fuel load. I rarely ever load more than 75%, even on cold start missions with 100+nm flights to the AO. Also I'd suggest jettisoning any triple ejector/launch racks that remain on the aircraft after you've used your munitions. Also, get more altitude before you reach the mountains, turn around and climb more if you have to.

While I'm fine with it either way they release it, I'm not sure what you're talking about, $60 is the post-release price for the combo as currently stated. ?

I was prepared to be up in arms over the AI assets costing extra after seeing some posts here, but considering Normandy+assets is the same price as NTTR, I'm not sure what the fuss is about. The water looks amazing.

VIDEO: Ground Effect Bug: Serious Flaw in ED's PFM
Deezle replied to aaron886's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah, it showed up in 1.5 after the 2.0 release. Just begs the question why this is only getting looked at now over a year later, after it's already been posted about. -
I'm also curious about removing Num5 as the recenter key with my CV1 on the way. I need Num5 for CDU/CK37/NADIR/INS/ect data entry

If you use an axis for your zoom control you can simply tune it something like this.

VIDEO: Ground Effect Bug: Serious Flaw in ED's PFM

Is this the same bug that's been in 2.0 since release? Where you fly under a bridge or try to hover a helo under a canopy and it begins to float? -
Not possible to display two seperate views at the same time AFAIK.
-
Is your TGP generating the SPI, so you're releasing the bomb on the correct location?
-
Practice, practice, practice. Just like anything else, if you put the time in, it becomes second nature. Building a collective helped me, partly because it feels more natural and partly because it got me flying the Huey a lot more because it's more enjoyable with proper controls.

There is certainly a problem with wind in the Viggen. Can't even take off with a 97kn headwind at 400km/h IAS. Nor does the ASI read anything when stationary with such a strong headwind.
-
Can I not order the extension separately? I want the base, extension and warthog adapter, don't wanna pay extra for the VKB grip I wont use. ETA: Oh well, ordered the Pro and WH adapter anyways. I'm pretty excited to see it.
-
Switch to a single view port instead of the 3 screen configuration.
-
Yeah, IIRC, you just ignore the first digit on triple digit longitudes.

An RWR on the dash to match those antennas on the external model :music_whistling:

UH-1H ADF Freq rotary, mouse scroll should work?
Deezle replied to SupraJari's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Works with a scroll wheel, doesn't work if you try to click and drag. -
You're making it sound like it's some kind of voodoo. For my setup, a negative curve of around 50 is good for all aircraft, takes a few seconds to tweak it and you don't have to exit the game and restart to see your changes, all while keeping the entire FOV range usable if needed. I agree there needs to be more control in game, I do have to edit all the aircraft to have a max FOV of 160 for my setup, except the Mi-8 which has an FOV slider in the special options tab.
-
Limiting your max zoom to 110º is a bad idea. Tweaking the axis setting is easy. Whatever floats your boat I guess.
-
I do this for all aircraft to get the proper default zoom level. Easy peasy.
