  1. We are talking about the country list in game, not as a map. Also would be incredibly unrealistic, can't say I've seen a single US ship or plane in the last 15 years... Would be a terrible choice of map.
  2. Agreed, would be a fantastic option if it could be incorporated as destruction zones absolutely cause havoc when done on a large scale/don't sync well in multiplayer.
  3. That's a fair assessment. I would argue the main benefit is the specific target types hit moreso than the (agreeably rough) location. Thanks to the accurate dating it may be possible to then further refine the information by geolocating using your favourite satellite mapping service. There used to be an open source syria war mapping project mapping trenches/units/bomb impacts and so on, but this sadly does not seen to exist any more as I was unable to find it.
  4. Have recently come across the OIR strike report repository here: https://www.inherentresolve.mil/Releases/Strike-Releases/ This is a useful source of information for mission makers wanting relevant source material. Note strike reports are most detailed pre-November 2017. I hope this may be a useful source of information for some mission makers wanting real world information on coalition airstrikes in Syria.
  5. Correct, there will be no further releases of 2.5.6, next DCS update is 2.7. Will be interesting to see what the 2.7 initial release will update in terms of Syria; I suspect Cyprus will not be included yet at this stage but we may see some of the new airfields and surrounding mainland improvements as shown by @MAESTR0 in the post last week.
  6. Oh ok. Where can I find this information on planned airfields?
  7. What do you mean by that sorry? What files?
  8. This is great, awesome work!! Definitely makes Syria my favourite map by far, really intricate detail on airfields - they look beautiful. Will allow mission makers many new possibilities for scenarios. I hope that some more detail work can be done east of the euphrates river from raqqah, as it saw significant combat from coalition air forces in the fight against ISIS to support the kurdish troops. Please consider detailing this area to near Deir ez-Zur. Fantastic work the team can be really proud of what you achieved, it is clear you all have a passion for the map
  9. Excellent point, a civilian faction (ideally with some ability to dynamically spawn, similar to the road traffic we have now but for some foot traffic in towns for example) would be a very useful addition. Having these 4 sides would definitely widen mission makers ability to create interesting scenarios considerably.
  10. To spring of this post, a good system would be something like Armas's, where the Neutral (Independent) coalition can be set as either enemy/friendly for Blue and red coalition independently, and with ability to switch allegiance mid mission.
  11. This is a flight simulator, not Arma. I think you are severely underestimating the workload involved, and it would not be a feature used by the majority of the player population anyway. You can currently achieve what you mentioned with csar using the csar script+slotblocker anyway. I do support your idea of being able to set a timer before able to take a new slot after death though, would be a useful feature of the mission editor.
  12. Appears to be the case, with this thread as reference:
  13. That's an entirely fair comment he made - they don't exist there in real life, then they should not be there. People without good knowledge of the area would not have spotted that, so it is entirely fair to point this out to the developers as they were likely unaware themselves.
  14. Too be fair it used to work quite recently, I utilized it myself without issue a few patches ago.
  15. Replicated your findings. Example mission attached. EDIT: Per BigNewy on discord this issue is reported and the team is aware. removeObjectsTest.miz
  16. Dear @MAESTR0, With the amazing changes being made to the Lebanese and Israeli areas and the addition of cyprus, I am wondering if there is further work planned for syria, particularly in the euphrates valley region east of al raqqah, and northeast of the euphrates river. This area saw significant air support throughout operation inherent resolve for kurdish troops in the fight against ISIS. Currently this area is already detailed with trees and some roads, but is missing all settlements. I hope that it is possible to flesh it out a little more like the excellent work done to west coast. Kind regards, Yoyo

+1 please update boom physics, including collision.
  18. +1. On the subject, I would also like a 'favourites' tab as the default that only loads starred servers. Would be very useful for people who frequent only a small handful of servers.
  19. It throws up some dust, the visual effects are being reworked this year.
  20. +1 on all points, particularly named flags. It's a basic feature that would go a long way to make mission making simpler and more efficient, named variables are a staple of virtually every programming/scripting language and it boggles the mind why it has not been implemented in a product as old as DCS.
  21. Strongly agree as a long time vr user.
  22. No, they have not. The AA pass still occurs before the mask pass, meaning no imrovement in framerate regardless of mask setting.
  23. Awesome thank you BN!
  24. Regarding your question of SAM sites working together, by default no, but it can be achieved by using Skynet IADS. This script allows for Sam sites to become integrated, so they don't continuously employ their own radars (giving away their position) but rather use information from early warning radars. Makes them significantly more interesting, smarter, and deadlier.
