Ive never had my wings fly off in this bird even in heavy maneuvering. It makes me really wonder what you guys are doing with this aircraft, flying it like a UFO maybe:joystick:.

Was the Mig patched today? Patch notes are extremely poor if so, if not it should be communicated clearer.

Sounds like you maybe have g simulation in cockpit view turned on.. I dont fly 2.0 but might want to try turning that off in options. Its different from mig21s cockpit shake.

Do we have an ETA on integrity check from ED that ive missed? Maybe in two weeks? :helpsmilie: Unless ED have implemented zoom in HMD recently that im also not aware of, this is the main reason why im bringing this up. Having no zoom, and 0 imposters makes visual spotting extremely difficult for quite a few aircraft. In something with good radar it isnt as bad. Im glad if you are waiting to run for radar fixes for the Mig-21. This makes me feel alot better as id love to fly her and makes me feel alot better.

At that point you may as well not run blueflag or wait until integrity check is back in. Because if there is no integrity check what is to stop me from mounting r77 on su27 etc or doing other LUA edits... unless you have some sort of anticheat in house script? There are probably many other ways of gaining a large advantage by running client side modifications. Id like to think our community is on the whole more adult than that. You may as well remove Mig-21 from the plane list as its going to be impossible without a working radar, and model enlargement, to do anything in that plane. Also this entirely prevents me now from playing on blue flag, to VR not having implemented zoom in 1.5 afaik. Yes you can rely on radar due to the modern day scenario but really doesn't appeal to me going back to extremely poor, old dcs spotting. That has nothing to with airframe 'preference' (su 27, f15) - default dcs spotting is just dire without any enlargement and not enjoyable. It is quite a baffling decision.. community should be small enough that people who do cheat in any fashion are soon identified, and banned. Yes its harder to spot..

Being able to drop RN-28/24s would be certainly interesting.. Maybe restrict it to the smaller variant.. would give the Mig-21 an interesting role to play and might be good to unrestrict it for the test round. Thanks for the measured reply blue flag team.. everyone appreciates the event.

Enlargement should be set to small imho. As REDFOR i definetly dont want it off - i personally dont see why ED just didnt set it to be the default in the first place. Spotting in DCS without it is horrific and unrealistic, and the enlargements were added to help aircraft such as the Mig-21 which primarily have to spot their targets visually. With the release of new HMDs and quite a few people playing on older hmds, its going to be important. Ill be mostly flying SU-27 so its not going to be too bad for me (mig 21 is infuriatingly broken), but i really think most servers should fly with this setting on to some degree. As for the other issues - I dont see much issue, but i think if we are setting mirage to blue only, then we should consider with gazelles release even less parity. Ie su25t and ka50 red only, a10c and gazelle blue only (once release i guess in upcoming patch). One can argue they are different roles but it could work and be interesting. That said I can understand some aspects of why its mixed. Nobody here is moaning because they dislike blueflag.. all just want to have input on it and to have it taken onboard in some way or another. I personally dont mind aim120 as long as russian side gets r77.. just really hope ed would get around to giving mig 29 proper flight model as it feels very on rails compared to glorious su27. BadHabit me, darkwolf and others also fly in primarily mig 21 squadron.. we are likely going more combined arms for this blueflag but might be worth keeping an eye out for each other and arranging some joint operations.. it would be cool if we get the time.

If you merge and lose visual, you are already in deep trouble. In such a situation I either put on height and try to establish a visual on the target through a bank if I want to get into a turn fight, or try and disengage from merge to come back in later and hope he has lost me also. Both can be risky once you lose Situational Awareness. I dont know what the Mirages RWR is like as I have very little flight time in it. But from Mig-21 experiences ive learnt not to rely on it over Mk1 eyeball..

Im just wondering which is the most up to date version of this script that is the most stable with current DCS? Kinda hard to see from the first post which is the most up to date and maintained. WWII warbirds I think is a mistake. There arn't really enough period units to truly give an approximate battlespace. Also the aircraft are limited to all of what, three aircraft? I feel its just too limiting, and will see lower participation in the main. Id love to see it in the future where WWII DCS is more developed, but for now it seems a very odd choice to me for a large scale community event. It seems better to me to keep it firmly within 1980s, cold war scenario to give widest range of aircraft the ability to participate with some flexible interpretation. This also keeps options open for those who like to fly the current helos.

I just personally think its bad commercial sense. Theatres should be a draw in: to get people to purchase modules and campaigns. Anyway getting off topic as I leave it at that. Crimea would be a very welcome addition.

+1 for Crimea. Would add alot to the default map. At end of day its always going to be the primary map for multiplayer, due to it being free. Therefore it should benefit from a proper edge upgrade. Imho buying maps is as already stated a very good way to split MP community. Charge should be for official campaigns on these map only, not the terrain themselves.

Im really loving the Mig21, it has a very good feeling to the flight model and its general systems. Despite its shortcomings as mentioned it feels otherwise solid, and the devs seem to be maintaining it well looking at their public bug tracker. I also have been heavily enjoying the MI-8, which seems a complex aircraft to actually fly due to relying on a tail rotor.Still much to learn and waiting until i get new rudder pedals to really dive in.. Note the most complex are KA 50 and -10c id argue, and thats all down to the complexity of the electronics. That doesnt mean they are necessarily hard to fly (KA 50 is very stable for a helicopter due to coaxial config.. just need to learn how autopilot 'assists' you) My two cence
