I generally just hover over to the FARP pad, drop fuel, load up Mavericks, and go kill the 4 SHORADs at a FARP and let helo finish it off. Works out well. -

AI units can kill the invisible units. They are still there. I think all fuel bunkers and white houses are invisible. We've been taking mortars and calling in bombers. It takes much longer now because of the reliance on the AI to do a portion of the work. -

Can rearm at FARP pads, but not on the adjacent roadways like the Viggen can. -
If it was out of a real operational aircraft, sure. But parts from a training sim? Nah, I think it's better to build it yourself unless the price is right.

If they aren't rolling across the map with a 2:1 advantage, then yes, very much so. Having played red side a fair bit, it's tougher to do anything with the lower numbers, but generally red team coordinates much better, out of necessity. -

Numbers matter, but coordination matters more. Last night 10 to 14 blues on and 4 reds. Reds closed Sochi. Blues captured ambrolauri. I had to fly A10C, closed both ambo and oni, begged for a chopper, to no avail. I then took a chopper out of Tvarchelli and got ambo but couldn't get to oni before reset. After reset, 4 blues, 2 red. I run helo from ambo to oni, but repaired and mortars can't see targets in trees. Meanwhile, reds capture Sochi, while other blues are doing who knows what in their AV8Bs. They didn't score any kills or points the entire time I was there. So, the team outnumbered 2 to 1 got an entire airfield when we got just a road base. And only one blue player did all the work to get that road base. It's frustrating because I love the F5 and the A10C, but I may need to go red next round. -

<rant> Blue team: 14 players, 6 are in F-15s, no helicopters Red team: 1 Su-27 all the way out west WTF dudes, 2 farps waiting capturable and nobody will get in a helo? Why fly an F-15 when there is nothing to fight in the air? </rant> So.... Red Team, want another player? :) -
Appears all over. Blue Flag has bunkers that are invisible and indestructible as well as SA3 sites with the same bug. You can set down AI units, which will blow them up and then you can see the destroyed object. Tested with JTAC lasing, object was still invisible though being marked, and multiple direct gbu12 hits had no effect. I suspect Burning Skies is suffering same bug, and likely an ED problem to fix.

Dumb question: sensitivity of these tests to fuel/weapon loadout? Weight and drag may be the factor here. Was max SL speed without the hispanos?

Got something to investigate. Server crashes I have seen have been when attacking Algir samsite. Has an invisible SA-3. Just now saw the launched missile fly through one of the hills I was ducking behind. In most recent experience, server did not crash, but screen froze for a good 20 seconds. Miraculously, I was still flying and had nose up attitude, even though freeze was near when I was diving. I was the only one on the server, flying a Harrier around the samsite. -

Thanks for being so responsive to the issues, guys. Has been and continues to be a great and supportive cadre with a fantastic server. As for my momentary hissy fit, I'll be back on to continue playing (er...um...testing, yeah, testing). -

If it was qualified to fly on the Tomcat, it is appropriate to include with the module. Modern planes go through more than a million dollars of work to qualify airframes for a single weapon type. It's no longer "experimental" once all that testing is done. It's then just a question of tactical doctrine, which is entirely in the hands of the simmer. The only relevant question in all of this is, did the qual work get done?

Two sorties from Tblisi today in an A-10C. Fly all the way up to Beslan area, peek over the mountains, get target in TGP, and....game freeze / server crash. This has been happening for days. Server seems good for about 30 minutes, then it's a crapshoot. I suspect it's just 2.5 woes, but I am starting to not want to fly this anymore because it's just a spool up, take off, and fence in simulator at this point. -
Not getting that until ED implements a temporal vortex module and hooks it up to combined arms so the GCI can play timelord.

I routinely fly distance in the F5 with only occasional trimming. Are you changing speed a lot? I sometimes set trim and walk away to grab a quick snack from upstairs. Have you tested the control play in your stick and put in appropriate deadzone?

I don't want anything too new. Once it's all BVR and stand off weapons, the game becomes another version of Microsoft office. With the instant action nature of the missions and the lack of real consequence for losing a plane, there is little to do other than missile joust point and click. For instance, if it were possible to make right now, I think an F35 module would be the most boring aircraft in the game.

We're they fired from said show bird? If so, I expect that they were actually cleared for use, but the Navy just never chose to deploy with them. Considering the incredible cost and work in qualifying weapons for an airframe, I would think that such qualification would be reason enough to include then in the sim.

AV8 GBU truck is the best at wiping out fuel bases without needing 40 min to get on station. -

Sometimes SRS just won't work on my machine, due to some user error or actual problem. I can't run discord with any other program using microphone, for instance. We managed to do alright last night with just text chat, and we were constantly communicating. Of course SRS is tops, but sometimes it's not in the cards, and it's not a panacea that makes people want to communicate. Rather, your suggestion is just a filtering method to cull out people who may not want to communicate. Given that I never see 51/51 on the server these days, that selectivity can only hurt the scenario, in my opinion. -
Would be a good use of VR. The cognitive jump from touch controllers to hands is surprisingly quick.

Was in Nevada Aerobatics Online just now, trying to refuel on the KC-130. At idle thrust, ~10k AGL, 1000 lbs fuel total, no stores, I was gaining speed and overtaking the tanker every time. Tanker was at about 200 kias. I was able to get into a 5 deg climb and accelerate up to 215 kias, around 13k AGL. Engine RPM went from 43.7% to 45% in the climb. I think I forgot to turn the H2O switch off, but should there be any boost to the thrust at idle regardless of the switch position? Does the water switch position cause an RPM boost at all throttle positions and then H2O only kicks on at 95+ %? May not be a bug, but wondering if this is the right behavior.

What about the mk151/20 instead of mk108? Would rather have the 20mm with some more ammo.
