If this mod will be free then surely it means that you will not be asking for third party status which you need to get access to the DCS dev kit. Furthermore I thought you needed this to create an EFM and ASM and to add weapon systems - please correct me if I am wrong.

I have the issue that my view panning is jerky using trackir under 60FPS and so the game becomes unplayable for me as it just unenjoyable.

When using CCRP and setting the aiming point using the lock button, the aiming point disappears beneath the nose of the aircraft once level flght is re-established. Is there any indicator to show the path to the aiming point (crosshairs on the hud) so the bombs are released in line with the target?

Once DCS 2.0 is fully released, will we be able to tweak the settings for each map or will we have one setting which will be used for all? Mainly I am thinking of the water setting since I use medium or high in 1.5.3 and low in Nevada due to the lack of water but I thought that dispite this, the water is still rendered across the whole map under the terrain. This means that if we have one common setting, setting water to high for the Black Sea or straits of Homuz could cause lower than desired FPS in NTTR with no visual benefit.

Thanks for the update Zeus! What is the difference between sector mode and continuous mode? Jacks

Thanks! Will need to redo this mod after every update though?

I do not want to reconfigure the hardware itself as I use this axis and button in different ways in other modules.

I have seen there is a key bind for "undercarriage up otherwise down". Could you please add the opposite, meaning "undercarriage down otherwise up" so the undercarriage will lower and stay lowered when a key is pressed and held down and then retract when the key is released? I use a saitek throttle quadrant as a gear lever as it engages a button when moved past the 0% point and with this key binding added I and many others could lower the gear by moving the throttle down past zero and then raise it by simply raising the throttle back past the 0% point. i hope this feature can be added. Here is a British version. This is wartime colour documentary following a Lancaster bombing raid from mission planing to the crews returning and debriefing.

Mig-21, Mirage and L-39 are great and they all have their own merits but if I were to recommend just one module for me it is easy - the Mi-8! I was not interested in helicopters but bought the Huey in the sale since it was cheap and instantly loved it, helicopters are more about flying skill rather than operating complex systems but they so many uses from troop transport from ships to sling loading to gunships. I liked the Huey so much I decided to buy the mi-8 and found it to be like the Huey but on steroids!! Get the mi-8, you will not regret it!

I don't think this is a bug but rather a new feature! You need to set the aileron booster switch to on. This switch is located in front of the throttle on the Mig-21 left console. This is a new requirement since update. Also I noticed the radar take longer to warm up now. Good luck and happy hunting!

I reckon April personally.

I used to get 60fps soldly but since update I get 40-50 and trackir is jerky when view panning meaning the game is not enjoyable in its current state. ED please fix this issue as we should need super PCs to run this on medium to high settings ultimately people will not play a game with poor graphics performance.

Complete Transport and Logistics Deployment - CTLD
Jacks replied to Ciribob's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
No worries Ciribob and don't thrash yourself, we can wait. Are they issues with using sling loading on multiplayer, does it crash DCS? -
Ok thanks sith, if it doesn't I am sure it won't take long till it hits 2.0 anyway.

I don't have the memory to run 3 installs so I guess I am waiting for the stable release :(. I honestly thought that open beta had ended when the stable 1.5.2 released was announced and I thought ED said they would not be updating OB anymore.

Thanks for the up front news, I for one would like to see a GR version the most and so would pay extra for the later version to ensure continued development. Keep up the good work!

At least throughout this discussion one enduring theme is that the future is bright for DCS with it potentially accessing new customer bases be it through the planned modern jets such as the F-18, F-14 and Harrier or through development of the 1944 Normandy Scenario. I know that it will take many years to achieve the level of immersion and detail that I hoping for in the WW2 scenario but during that time I am sure I will continue to enjoy aircraft I previously would not have considered trying such as the Mig-21 and Mi-8 and I guess that is the beauty of DCS, it's variety and the ability to play a plethora of eras and very different aircraft naturally broadens most people's sim tastes and experiences.

H Red, sadly it involving editing the mission lua and cutting and pasting each unit into the same group ensuring the correctly numbering convention is used. To edit the lua file you will need to change the file name from .miz to .zip and then unzip to gain access to the individual files.

Do we need more 3rd parties? I certainly think so! One of DCS' strengths is also a weakness in that although it caters for many scenarios, each scenario is somewhat under developed with sufficient aircraft. Just look at how many aircraft types are available for CLoD and BoS and yes I know that the DCS modules achieve a higher level of fidelity and greater level of accuracy. But sadly players are going to want to fly in a well developed environment for their era of choice with a good variety of aircraft, vehicles, ships and maps. So although on a macro level DCS outperforms all other sims, on the micro level (I.e each era) it cannot compete in terms of variety and complete environment development - yet! More developers would help alleviate this. Not all developers will be competing with each other as they will develop for the era or aircraft type they are interested in with some focused on the WW2 scenario, some on vintage jets, another on early naval jets, some on helicopters and other on modern jets etc etc. So what we will see is not a saturation of the market but rather a padding out each of the eras and development of each scenario. What is more, ED's overall control of modules and developers although restrictive will prevent over saturation and promote targeted development.

So as promised here is the updated mod. Here is a link to the mod pack which works for both 1.5.2 and 2.0. the mod pack includes the updated Ranger79 Pack and the LZ Lights by Lilkiki (all credit to them) and so this one mod pack can be used in place of theirs. the mod pack also includes a small mod I did that allows the ISO containers to appear. The mod pack is JSGME ready. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gpurkubr37g0bvu/FOB%20RANGER%20Mod%20Pack.zip?dl=0 Attached is a .miz file containing a template for FOB RANGER for 1.5.2 only and another .miz file containing the templates for FOB RANGER and a small Patrol Base called PB HAMILTON for DCSW 2.0 (i.e this version only works in NTTR!). For both of these .miz files, open them in ME, select each group and save them as templates. Here is a screenshot of the two bases in NTTR. Agreed. DCS could, reach a lot more customers if they offered something unique and attractive. In my opinion I think the WW2 scenario has the greatest following worldwide and so development of the 1944 map and modules would bring more people to the game and a multicrew heavy bomber with a suitably large map would be unique and offer WW2 simmers something that currently not available. I can understand why many devs assess developing for DCS as a risk given the overall control held by ED.

I will be uploading an updated mod pack and template. The mod pack will include all of the vehicles used (made by ranger79, the lights made by Lilkiki and a few mods by myself. Al you need to do is load the mod pack using JSGME and save the mission with the template. Then open the mission in ME, select the FOB group and click on create template. Save the template to the USA and name it to whatever you like. Then you can add the FOB into any of your missions by using the place template function in ME.

Skullleader, I wish I had a good method but unfortunately I placed each unit by in the Me and that entered the the game and moved it it a small amount each time. I think I probably had to enter the game and move units about 2000 times to make this FOB! I used a spare unit as reference and placed the rectangular unit symbol so one of its corners aligned with the corner of the unit I wanted to move and then I used this a reference so I could move a unit precisely in the X and y direction. One issue I faced is adding them to a single group so a template could be created. By adding a new unit to a group, the unit is placed south of the last created unit which is not normally a problem but when you have to create 100 new units, they end spawning a good distance from you are working. So instead I created lots of groups containing a small number of units and then at the end edited the .miz config lua file and moved them into a single 100 unit group. There is no particular skill required to make these detailed templates just time and patience and the only specialist skill I had was probably experience of designing and building such fortifications in Afghanistan. I believe that if you have open beta and 1.5 installed at the same time you can run both together and use one to edit the template and one to view. Hope this helps, Jacks

Hi, I had a slight issue uploading today so will finish it off tomorrow and post the links. Apologies for the delay. Jacks
