Caucasus Map Texture DLC by Starway
spaceraver replied to Starway's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Where is that donate button? -
Apparently there is a laser code the Frogfoot can "see". As far as I know it's 1113 if you use a JTAC. as per this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=165417

Free and very easy to use aluminium frame design software - FrameDesigner
spaceraver replied to dux's topic in Home Cockpits
motedis.com is based in Germany. Cheap pricing. I haven't ordered anything from them yet, but I am looking to make a CNC cutter anyway, so I might order a lot of extrusion. -
Interactive Map Kavkaz for the second monitor or another computer
spaceraver replied to Нупь's topic in DCS Modding
I cannot get it to work on Windows 10. EAaccess violation But I like the export very much. I have a member at hand that is interested in the source code if that is possible. We are trying to do something akin to what you have done, by having the app client side and the export installed server side so it would be on a second screen and we would use it as a collaborative scratchpad. Route planning, target marking, especially for FC3 and frogfoot. I really love the premise of it none the less. -
I have used this program for years, some things are a bit hit and miss, but for what I needed it to do it worked perfectly. Never could get it to work with DCS before Andre took on the project. Thanks Andre.

I will buy the updated graphics package just to support Starway. With all the hours he has put into it I don't see the reason to fuss about a ~$10 texture update. It's cheap for the work he has done. Heck, I still enjoy flying in Caucasus and if they decide to give it an overhaul down the road to support collidable trees and such for free while keeping the texture update paid I would still love it. *hint hint* :D

Do you have the stl for the stick extension? And how did your stick die? Symptoms?

MFG Crosswind - Review
spaceraver replied to Flamin_Squirrel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I still love my pedals. I wonder if we can make a flight stick with the same kind of mechanism? Or at least the base.. I know it will be large as the base, but the feel would be awesome. -
B E A UTIFUL as Jim Carrey would say. I really dig this.

Stop AI SAM and AAA engaging under horisontal?
spaceraver posted a topic in How To Mod for DCS World
So, how do I get AI to stop engaging threats under the horizontal plane that they are placed. We are trying to mix up the whole air race thing by adding a lot of AAA and SAM sites, but they inevitably will shoot us down because they engage us under their horizontal plane, ie. lower than they are placed. I thought that the AAA could only engage planes above their own position. OR do We just have to be more careful with their placement? -
AH-6 Little Bird modeled and ready to go !!
spaceraver replied to maxdiver's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
Winfield, there are a lot of people who post snaps, but it looks like he has a bit more up his sleeve than just Turbosquid. Give him time before judging.. -
Why not have a bug tracker system like LNS?

Fuel consumption / Mission preplanning
spaceraver replied to DirtyFret's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I might be dumb here, but why not calculate the amount of fuel needed for the distance and add 10%, that's a bit more than you need to be on the safe side. -
So, how many are willing to do some proper thermal maps? It could be a community project if there's people willing to do so. And if we get the go ahead from ED. I downloaded the photoshop script off of https://manuals.bisimulations.com/vbs2/1-50/devref/Content/Adding_Models/How_to/AMHT_Thermal_Imaging_How.htm so I can start taking a look at some of our vehicles. I don't know how we can implement them yet but I am willing to give it a try none the less, even as a photoshop noob.

Sometimes I wish I took Russian lessons. Interesting video nonetheless.

Hmm. I really hope for a multiverse that is DCS at the core, but expanding to civil flights, RTS gamers, the Arma crowd.. But that is a long way to go to get there.

Waterman pc, I understand that _you_ want modern fighters. Me? I don't care about the Era of the airframe. What I care about is fidelity. A dumbed down version of a modern day fighter aircraft sucks in comparison to a full fledged 1940's or 1970's fighter that has all the documents available so it flies true to its real in the flesh counterpart. I want this Sim to appeal to as many players as possible. They are trying to get RTS elements into it with CA. I hope that it will bring those into the game. I want this Sim to appeal to the Arma guys. Or any Squad based combat game. I would love to pick up a squad in my Huey, drop them off in the middle of battle and have them relay info to the Warthog and Su-25 guys. Lase for them, drop smoke, shifting the battle. Or have a Human SAM network. This will give you and me so much more experience and opposition than just dropping a missile down range in BVR and see a pixel go boom somewhere in the distance. . They are willing to risk implementing multicrew and that is truly groundbreaking. Flying multi crew bombers, helo and modern fighters. Or 40's equivalents. That will draw a large number of people in. So while you want modern fighters and nothing else, I encourage you to assemble a team to develop both the engine, planes and the systems needed for this to do even a little bit of what DCS does today and in the future.

If you desire a visor, copy the one from the MIG-21bis. It has a filter applied..

is there a radio mod that allows for music channel?
spaceraver replied to hannibal's topic in DCS Modding
How about polling a Teamspeak channel bot in a separate channel that just plays Internet radio? If universradio can connect to such a bot, assign it a channel in DCS, you should be able to tune the aircraft radio to that frequency and listen to that radio. -
I was asked what happens when the CSAR helo gets shot down. From what I can understand if the CSAR gets shot down you have to rescue that helo and the pilot? Are both slots now blocked until I rescue both?

I play on a 37" 1080P tv at the moment, and I sit around 1 meter/3 feet from the screen. I do not consider myself having eye troubles at this age, but you never know. I am having trouble reading the heading tape on the hud after I switched to 1.5 and 2.0. I know that the HUD on all of these planes projects to infinity so I can't just zoom in the view. The Mirage is clearly eligible, even when looking around or tilting my head with a head tracker. There is a fix for the A-10C, but not for the FC3 planes nor the Frog. Is there any lua file or bitmap file I can edit to make the heading tape fonts larger or just increase the whole hud a bit? Something akin to 1.2-1.5x the size would be nice. I am expecting the HUD to be the same size or smaller when I get my hands on a HMD, so an increase in hud font size would be paramount in the long run.

2nd keyboard with custom key mappings?
spaceraver replied to steve2112's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Making it would be easy, if you could rewrite a generic driver for the second keyboard that was easily editable for naming purposes. Changing the class is probably the best option. I found some posts about it. http://eleccelerator.com/tutorial-about-usb-hid-report-descriptors/ Some did it with a 3dConnection Spacenavigator by changing 2 bits in the driver. http://www.3dconnexion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=336 128 key joypad anyone? If I could code, I would have a crack at it..
