  1. I tried this mission several times now but I always get a "Mission failed" because the convoy was destroyed. Now I'm at the point where it starts to get frustrating.... Does anybody have someusefull hints how to compete this mission in DCS 2.5? I even started to take out enemies in the village (with the cannon) before the ambush started. I go into a hover in the village and search for the enemies. However, due to the amount of trees, it's hard to actually see them. Once the ambush starts and I see the "fireline", I start firing unguided rockets toward it. That seems towork for the first part of the ambush, but when the 2nd rush commences, it'salso hard to see where the convoy is located. Thus, there's the risk offriendly fire - again due to the amount of trees. And there seem to be firefrom both sides. They always take out the full convoy. As soon as the fire starts, I also givethe wingman the command to attack ground targets. This doesn't seem to help alot. Or should I give him another command (attack bandits? attack my enemy?). My prefered position for the attack is in the valley before the village (see screenshot) but I also tried a position on the hill to the south; without success. However, I don't want to reduce the amountof visible trees or enabling the labels; that feels like cheating to me andruins a lot of immersion. Also, there's the danger of hitting aninvisible tree...
  2. Yeah, it was really hard to follow this way. They also fly trough the trees in mission 3 and upcoming ones (good luck they're set to invulnerable).
  4. ok, I finally got it working. All I have to do now is to make it OvGME ready now... ;-)
  5. Interesting, I may try this route as well once. It's funny that people often complain about the sound in my video. Personally, I don't notice that the sound shall by weird. My sound is only at 27% in DCS. Maybe it's also because I use a different Huey sound (Huey Skullz's Genuine Sound Mod 2.5). Another theory, if the sound really is weird, that it's a recording problem. My save folder for the Shadow Copy video is on the SATA-Raid and not on the SSD. Anyway, I'm going off-topic. I'll give reducing the volume a try when I do another video though. Edit: concerning the trk - it was my fault. I was watching it and noticed that I didn't turn on recording. Thus, I quit and didn't think that the trk has now been overwriten.
  6. It's probably scripted because it already was in DCS 1.5. I really didn't feel like I need more power. On the other hand, I was really in fear that I hit my tail when I did the 2nd take-off from the summit... Anyway, your file worked fine and I successfully finished the mission. Thanks again. Just for fun, I recorded the session (cut it down to the key scenes though): Unfortunately hardly any external views (broken trk file) - and the weather was also very clear. I wish it would have had more clouds. Just wondering if you do the same route or if you take another one? For the 2nd ride down, I decided to take the "alternate" route for the first time.
  7. Just finished it. Yeah, the 2nd location makes a lot more sense now and iirr, it was similiar in 1.5. I'm surprised that it felt a lot easier than in 1.5, but that's probably because I never turned off de-ice. With de-ice off, it's no problem to take-off from the summit.
  8. Thank you. Hopefully ED will adapt it. I'll try it out.
  9. Your account has been banned ;) Thanks for posting. I should be able to test it tomorrow evening local time...
  10. That's almost cheating :music_whistling: Just kidding. On the other hand, the mission really should also be realistic in a way - and I doubt we'll get an adjusted "official" mission in the near future. It really would make more sense to wait in a more flat area. It's still a challenge. You should send your adjusted mission to ED in the end ;) In a way it's stupid if you fix the thing and ED has to fix it again in the end.
  11. Yeah, that's my biggest concern, hitting the ground with the tail. That's why I prefer landing up the hill, no matter what the wind comes from. Looks like it will take quite some more attempts to me to finish it. Maybe it would make sense to edit the mission (and save under a different name) to start close to the 2nd summit - simply to practice the landing. It's quite hard to do the 1st run all the time to end up crashing on the 2nd LZ.
  12. Where do you land on the west summit (2nd LZ)? The slope is pretty steep there and I messed it up. It seems like it's a bit less steep a bit higer, but I'm not sure if this is still in the trigger zone.
  13. Did you also have to adjust the "x: Cockpit Argument in Range" again? It's 0.1 for the last trigger and not 0.2. However, you changed the other one to 0.3. BTW, it's best to save the altered mission under a different name, otherwise DCS will overwrite your corrections with the latest hotfix - and you'll have to edit it again.
  14. Oh, I did not even notice that. As long as I don't need to use the night vision googles ;-) The instruments are pretty unsharp and hard to read with that thing - if it's the same like with the Mi-8.
  15. Congratulations and thanks for the info. Looks like I also have to change the triggers in that case. Let's hope they fix it for the 2.5 stable version. At least it's one of those missions you can really re-fly several times because of the different clouds. That makes it interesting again and again IMO. I dislike that the green light is turned on by default (I turn it off all the time). That was fine with 1.5 when it was a lot darker. With 2.5 when it's already morning and bright, the green light doesn't make sense anymore.
  16. Wilco ;-) Maybe I will fill in 13% though because the 2nd run is slightly longer afair. On the other hand, with 12% I managed to get up, down and half way up....therefore it should probably be enough.
  17. Isn't only the 1st part time critical? I never had a problem to save the wounded with that speed. Like I said, 60 kts for the first part and once I'm in snow region, I go down to 40 kts. I could maybe go for 50 kts, but then I'd have to do a 360° turn to gain some more altitude. As long as it works this way, I'm not gonna change my strategy ;-) Downhill, I'm going 120....always the most fun part.
  18. I don't even know yet how the 2nd LZ will look like... already the 1st one only has one spot to really land. Everything else is way too steep. 30% is a good value in that case? I hope I can also do my next attempt today. It was kindda frustrating to crash twice due to lack of fuel. I did not even manage to autorotate because I was close to the ground.
  19. The climb is no problem IMO with EGT at 600°C. Like Andydigital said, disable de-icing (I do it for take-off and once I passed the first big hill, when the snow starts). The first part, I fly around 60kts, sometimes a bit slower. When I turn-off de-ice and when I'm approaching the summit, I slow down to 40kts. That gives me a good climb up the summit. However, I wonder if I do something wrong with refueling. When I chose rearm and refuel, I get the information that rearming is done (they don't mention refueling but that might be by design?). I even changed the value from 4% to 7%, but the fuel needle didn't seem to change. So what happened twice at the same location is that I got a low RPM warning because I most probably ran out of fuel - at least the needle looked pretty much like it was at zero. Did I miss something when it comes down to refueling? Oh well, while writing, I suppose I noticed the mistake. I need to shut down the engine for refueling, right? Too bad because I really had nice landings and take-offs in this attempt.
  20. Well, I remember that somebody (you in that case) came up with a solution and afair I tried it after saying thank you - but I think I never got it working anyway. However, I'll give it another try.
  21. Thank you, that worked fine. Too bad I also didn't make the 2nd part (had an oil pressure failure at 2nd climb even though I think I paid attention on EGT). It's really cool how the weather and the clouds are always different at every retry.
  22. Which value did you change from 0.2 to 0.3? The "x: Cockpit Argument in Range"?
  23. It was no edit, but never mind. Thanks for the hint - I should have thought of that myself because it's the same with the Mi-8....but of course I did not think of it.
  24. Good to know, thanks. I'll edit the trigger in that case. Maybe it would make sense to post it in the "bug and problems" section? I doubt the devs will see it in this thread. Did you not have problems with the EGT? When I climbed up the hill, I made sure I stayed within limits, but I wonder if I would have been too slow - it took me a lot longer than with 1.5 before they implemented EGT. Well, I suppose I'll find when I try it for the next time.
  25. I'd say the mission could need some tweaking for DCS 2.5. When I flew up, the soldiers were standing/waiting on an very steep slope. No way to land there. The trigger zone might have been big enough (not tested...managed to crash because the LZ wasn't flat enough and I didn't pay enough attention), but it was so hard to actually see the soldiers. The visuals are pretty cool though compared to the 1.5 mission.
