Just a couple of questions about this mission. In the briefing, it's said the radar is at ARC-UD chanel 3, so I set the radio according to that (see screenshot). However, I don't get a signal on chanel 3. Did I miss something? I anyway found the radar station, but I had to use the F10 cheat... I also tried the R-828, but that of course lead me to another location. The briefing/kneeboard clearly says ARC-UD chanel 3 for radio station Gora. Or is this simply not radar station Gora? In that case I simply misunderstood the briefing. Furthermore, is random damage enabled? When I wanted to sling load the last of the 3 goods, I suddenly got a message about vibration in the left engine. Soon after a fire on the left engine... I landed, shut down the left engine and turned off the left tank pump. However, when I had a look at the external cam, it was already too late. The fire was spreading all over my poor Mi-8 and I had to exit the mission. Anyway, the mission itself would have been nice :-)

Well, I had a look at the video of my mission and it seems like you were right. So sorry for that - even though you don't see me hitting anything on the video. BUT the truck behind the building was on fire after attacking the roof top and I suppose that was the one that resulted in the friendly fire. I'd say that was just collateral dammage though :dontgetit: Truck on the left alive 1st shot - clearly into the roof 2nd shot - edge of roof (but I suppose the left part of the shot went above the roof - however, the truck was not in sight anymore, so the shot should have went above the truck as well IMO) 3rd-5th shot - clearly into the building Truck on the left in flames PS No, Simicro, don't say a word :doh:

Thanks for the reply. I think I recorded the session, so I should be able to check it out. However, I only fired on the building and on the car (outside the village), therefore it's very unlikely I hit somebody else. The result screen said "killed bandids RUS" or something like this. Well, let's simply hope ED will fix the AI bug ;-)

Just a slight but important addition - looks like the "bandits" are also russians. Therefore you'll get a message about friendly fire and losing all your points after completing the mission if you kill them. With that said, it's not a good solution. If you have to clean up the roof by yourself, then the bandits should have another nationality! :protest:

That worked, thanks. Just make sure you're not too close to the building in case you're using the rockets instead of the gun...killed my front window ;-)

I just tried mission 2, but the guys are not cleaning the roof. According to this video, they should fire on the guys on the roof after the explosion: And this is what's going to happen when I play the mission:cry:: As you can see, the explosion also happens (at 1:30) when I contact the special forces, but the guys simply don't fire on the enemies on the roof. Armen, can you please have a look at this?:helpsmilie: Or can anyobdy else confirm this problem? I'd really like to continue with the mission :joystick:

Ok, there's definitively something not working at all. I checked out a video on mission 1 to see what I'm doing wrong. While watching this I noticed that there is quite some speech from the co-pilot or pilot-navigator (already at the very start) When I start the mission, there is NO speech at all - also not during flight. Could please somebody with 1.5.7 try it out if this is a general problem? Edit: I just noticed that it's working with my 1.5.6 installation. So maybe something is simply wrong with my 1.5.7 installation. Edit2: After re-installing the DLC again on 1.5.7, it's now working correct!

I'm just wondering if mission 1 is broken in 1.5.7? After landing at the LZ in Kartsa, nothing is happening. I really waited a long time (and accelerated time). As you can see in the screenshot, I landed on the right spot (tried both LZ tough - just in case). I also set radio to chanel 19 and to frequency 124, to make sure the base could contact me. Not sure if it's needed. Either way, I'm stuck in this mission.

BTW, I forgot...I think the channels for the AKC-UD are wrong? It says: FARP Oktrika chanel 1 call Podovka FARP Podovka chanel 2 call Otkritka So I put it to chanel 2 for FARP Podovka (even though I was confused about call Otkritka). This did not lead me to the FARP Podovka. So maybe those chanels are switched?

Damn, I should have read through the forum before trying mission 1. Nothing happened in my case....but I didn't wait forever. I thought there should have been at least a message like "let's wait for the troops to be boarded". So after a while I continued my flight. Of course, there also were no Mi-8 after the border. So yeah, re-flying the mission again.

Just found out myself :-) I had to switch from "MW" to "VHD" as seen here:

In the last mission, you're told to use ADF. I'm not sure if I've got something wrong.... So in the end I had to use the F10 cheat to find the correct location which for sure was not the intention. I never had problems with the ARC-9 or the Doppler btw ;-) Those were my ARC-UP settings:

Just finished the campaign (oh wow, my previous post from mission two is from September 1st, so it took me 7 weeks). It was enjoyable and therefore I'm now a bit disappointed that it's over ;-) Anyway, thanks for the campaign and your great work - time to move on to the Border Campaign now in that case. I'll for sure replay it in DCS 2.5.

I'm curious to try it out, especially since critics are quite different. So I just bought it on sale yesterday. Overall, it's still Mi-8 and there are 15 missions, so I'm looking forward to it. I'll of course report back my experience once I played it (but I first have to finish Oilfield). And who knows, maybe Simicro will write one of his famous reviews once he also played it through.

I apologize...I just had a look at the video and there indeed was that message "Task completed" (even with a short noise). I simply didn't notice because I was busy shutting down the engines. Thus, all good with the mission/triggers. Personally I think it would have been cool to have a radio message contacting Sokrat before the "Task completed" message.

IMO she wasn't damaged except for that "scripted failure". I for sure made the landing clean and within time. Anyway, I'll have a look at it when I'm at home and I'll report back.

Oh, maybe I oversaw that. I'll check it out (I recorded the session) when I'm at home. I did not check if it gave me 50 or 100 point when I quit the mission, so maybe I in fact successfully finished the mission without having noticed :-o

Oh...good to know. I thougth it's the last one (mission 15?) and I was already slightly disapointed that it's "almost over" now. Thanks for checking. So I should simply have waited longer? Simply LWin-End and wait, right? I'll give it another try tomorrow.

Tony, looks like you have to replay the whole campaign in that case ;-) Well, I first shut it down manually (only engine, not completel because I thought the radio is still needed to contact Sokrat), but when I did not get any other speech (e.g. an ok from Andrey that he'll check the gearbox or the contact to Sokrat), I also used Win-End. After a while I turned on battery again because nothing happened. Well, I did not wait forever but IMO long enough. I mean, shouldn't I hear the commander contacting Sokrat? Or shouldn't I get a feedback from Andrey?

warning, contains spoiler about events in the last mission. EDIT: It's not the last mission, sorry for the mistake in the topic title EDIT2: title now corrected I obviously missed something to trigger the next event? So what do I have to do to make the mission progress?

I can for sure confirm this problem (happened yesterday in an online session with the current 1.5.7 version).

Since I wasn't that great with the Gazelle, I simply changed the helicopter for the Quick Mission "Improve your piloting skills". The end result is a split screen race between the Huey and the Hip which ended up pretty cool IMO :-) I hope you'll enjoy it.

In that case, simply make sure to set the date of the missions to winter 16/17 ;-)
