I don't think it's random. At least for me, it looks the same all the time in the LZ.

Ah, so you didn't try to land between the trees? That seemed pretty impossible to me. The big trees are no problem, but when you're descending, you simply can't really see the lower trees. I did not see a landing spot next to the river though. This must also be a very small spot to land on?
-
or if you want to have it even more simple, move the objects and trigger zones to this location. That worked fine for me without having to adjust altitute or anything in the trigger. I did not play till the end yet though.
-
Did you manage to land there with the 1st attempt? I still have problems to land in there. My 1st attempt was the best but I touched the tail somewhere when I almost managed to land. And the more you try, the worse it gets... They could move it a few hundred meters to the West. There would be some clearings. I'm facing East on that pic. The Huey is in the forest ahead. So just place it here at the shore.

This problem also was in 1.5 - still in 2.5. You can't assigne the cargo view (LShift-LAlt-Q) to your controller using the GUI. I think there was a workaround by editing a lua file, but I can't find the link anymore. Edit: Sorry, I could have used this thread instead of making a new one: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=197052&highlight=cargo

Just tried mission 5 and I think the location of the downed Huey should be reconsidered. Yes, actually it's possible to land in the forest, but there's no gap for errors. It's extremely tight. It might be too difficult for many pilots IMO.
-
Exactly, just finished mission 2 and 3 now. I'd say even if 340 may be a few meters too high, there isn't much danger of triggering the event while still in the air (due to the speed triggers). All we can say is that 325 is too low.
-
Yes, I can confirm that problem - tried several times and the event was never triggered. You edited the mission with the ME? Or where did you change the value? Edit: Looks like I have to change the following triggers in that case (worked fine, thanks Sharkku) Bloik_podlet_psadka Bloik_podlet_psadka2 Bloik_podlet_razgruz Bloik_podlet_razgruz2

schon einmal in DCS ausprobiert?

Coole Sache.

My fault. I missed the switch on the triangular panel. It's not a bug.
-
It seems like the 5.5. V light brigthness switch doesn't work in DCS 2.2 (works fine in 1.5.8)? Turning the know doesn't give me light for the Doppler and the altitude meter.

So I just finished the Border Campaign. It took me quite a while, so I'd say I got enough out of my money ;-) I already made a summary after 5 missions, therefore I'll keep it short. Overall, I enjoyed the campaign but I can understand that some people "complain" about triggers and stuff. There were e.g. a couple of missions where the frequency was wrong e.g. 142.500/142.000 in mission 15, 128.000/128.500 in mission 8. This shouldn't be and I'm sure it would be easy to fix. And in mission 14, I did not see strains, so it was quite hard to find out which buildings to attack. I had to watch a video (and interestingly it worked fine there) - so maybe it was broken with one of the DCS updates. Also, there were a few missions where the objects on the map were visible even thoug I disabled everything. This means it must have been set to "forced on" in the mission (e.g. mission 8, 9 and 14). Mission 12 to 14 were a lot of fun. I'll most likely re-visit the Border Campaign in DCS 2.5 - hoping that all the triggers will be fixed until then. Mission 9 e.g. had quite some issues (Trigger at WP2 didn't seem to work) Even though mission 15 was "just a long flight" it was quite interesting if you just flew on visual and with ACPs. So the most fun was preparing the whole flight (setting the ACP) and to actually make sure you always knew where you are. It for sure would have been less interesting with Doppler and Garmin IMO. With that said, Border Campaign might be a bit less "polished" compared to e.g Oilfield or Argo, but it was enjoyble.

In the last mission, you're told to contact the fort at 142.000 which is wrong. They'll respond on 142.500. Furthermore, if you land at the orange smoke (helipad close to it), nothing will happen. You'll have to take the other heli pad which is further away from the smoke. This is quite puzzling.

Thanks for your help :-)

Thank you, there's no hurry. I flew it without that few so long now (didn't know it also exists in the Huey) - I like it a lot in the Mi-8 though.

I wanted to map the cargo view to my Pro Control Puma controller on the settings screen but I can't click/mark the cell (marked yellow in the screenshot). Neither double click nor add button are working - using DCS1.5.7.11762 It works with no problem for the other commands or for the Mi-8 (I was able to map the button there). I tried to manually add it to the lua file but I don't know the correct entry because it's another "code/ID" in the Mi-8 than in the Huey. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3310887&postcount=13

This doesn't work because I can't mark the cell. It's like this cell is "locked". So any chance you have a look at your %username%\saved games\DCS\Config\Input\UH-1H\joystick\controllername{guid}.diff.lua and you search for your assigned button/the cargo view entry to post it here? Maybe I should report it in the bug section.... Edit: Added it to the bug section https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3310924#post3310924

It's cargo view. For whatever reason I can't map it on the Huey for my Pro Flight Puma controller though (works fine for Mi-8). If I double click the cell, the popup window simply doesn't appear. There's no problem to map the keyboard or any other command for the controller. Anybody else having a problem to map cargo view to the controller? I wanted to simply copy/paste the line from the Mi-8 lua file: ["d3001pnilunilcd59vd1vpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN5", }, }, ["name"] = "Ladungssicht", }, However, since the cargo view has a different key binding in the Huey (LCtrl-Shift-Q instead of LShift-LAlt-C), this won't work...it will bind BTN5 to the intercom. Can anyobdy give me the correct LUA entry for the cargo view?

With VR, you're probably right. With TrackIR...I'd probably lose sight of my monitor ;-)
