  1. I also used this one but it seems like it doesn't work anymore in 2.7. DCS always crashed on the loading screen until I removed the mod. Edit: Never mind - re-installed the mod and it's working fine again.
  2. I fully agree on that. Since you don't have to handle rockets/weapon system, Oilfield might be more "user friendly". If you know how to use Doppler and if you can do sling load, then I'd probably go with Oilfield first. If you have difficulties with sling load, then Spring Tension might be your first choice. Oilfield simply is a lot more about "routine" and IMO it's the "more relaxing" campaign. You could also simply start mission 1 on both campaigns and you then decide which one to continue first. It's not like you have to finish one campaign to start another one. @Raven (Elysian Angel) Interesting idea with the door gunner I never tried that.
  3. That's one of the reason why I only fly helo anymore
  4. I'm also fine with Persian Gulf
  5. Ah ok, thank you. Well, if people quit early, they'll miss the last voice overs though BTW, all units were visible on the F10 map on this mission as well Anyway, looking forward for part two. After all that snow, it will be a welcome change to move to Nevada.
  6. The "mission accomplished" text poped up a few km out of the landing location. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not? In my opinion, it shouldn't pop up before you landed.
  7. I'd also like to know this since there are still no aircraft charts in there (same with the Syria map btw).
  8. We tested it yesterday with and they really implemented it quite well (only had one issue when trying to tune the ILS frequency...it always turned back). It's cool when you can instruct the other person how to start the aircraft BUT I also had to notice that all your automatic routine which you do from the pilot seat won't work from the co-pilot seat because. I was really surprised how different it feels when you're on the other seat. Using the flexi gun is a lot better when you don't have to bother flying the aircraft. Flying on the left seat, if you're taking controls, is very uncommon in the Huey though and I absolutely prefer the pilot seat. Taking control or giving controls back works really good though, especially if you put the "request aircraft controls" on voice attack. In a way, it would be nice if the other person could see your mouse cursor if you want to show a switch or gauge. In RL, you could also point on something with your hand. That would have made starting up the aircraft a bit easier than trying to explain "the switch on the middle console left to that yellow fuel switch". Overal, time passed very quick and it never was boring, even if you were "only" co-pilot. If I can chose, I'll go for the pilot though, but I'd absolutely like to have a human co-pilot. With that said, I'm eager to get it once in the Mi-8 and hopefully in the Mi-24. It would also be cool if it would somehow possible to fly the campaigns/SP missions with multicrew even though I'm aware that might be difficult to achieve - how should the other person join since you don't launch a server for the campaign. But who knows, maybe ED will find a way to allow co-op campaigns. That would be amazing.
  9. I can confirm that. I don't have the supercarrier and it worked fine for me. Just guessing...maybe some installed mods that cause the problem?
  10. actually no, I did not skip task 2. I had 3 messages during task 2 (iirr: drop flares, don't get lost, proceed to task 3 or something like that. Two messages for task 2/3 (drop flares and another one) popup up again shortly before landing approach which is far from the trigger zones for task2 and 3. They were the same messages like when I arrived at task 2 and when I finished task 2. Too bad I forgot to save the trk file.
  11. Glad you somehow made it, congratulations.
  12. I had a few issues with the triggers but I finished the mission. After completing task 4 (F10 menu) I returned back to the airport. Close to it, the trigger from task 2 started again and I was asked to drop flares. Again soon after, I've got the message from task 3 again. However, I landed and finished with enough points to proceed (there was no "Mission success" message though when I parked the Mi-8 at the starting point again). Nothing serious but maybe something to look into?
  13. I don't know how you do the attack, but make sure you don't overfly the speedboats (in case you do). Turn off early enough. I had no problems with them. You may check the video I once did which might help you? Attack starts at 1:33. Maybe the AI became better within the latest updates though? I don't know. I also let the co-pilot do the firing.
  14. That sounds promising :-) Will be nice to have a scenario in the PG for the Mi-8. I'm looking forward to it. No idea how you want to realize the checkpoint system, but good luck with it.
  15. Well, I did not yet finish the whole campaign, but I'm at mission 11 - therefore I think I can already say some words about the campaign as well. In fact, I was not sure if I shall get the campaign or not because I was not happy with Memory of a Campaign (bad translation and I agree on the above said. It feels a lot more professinal than the first campaign (memory of a hero), especially due to the voice over and the proper english translation. All the triggers seemed to work fine. There were better and "worse" missions, overall it's entertaning and interesting so far. I think there were two mission which felt slightly "boring" to me because it was only flying from A to B. On the other hand, there were some missions with a really nice atmosphere (e.g. the one that plays December, 31st). Also, I think it was nice to have the "penalty system" if you fly reckless. It's very cool to have voice overs during startup, like it was with "Oilfield campaign". This adds so much to the atmosphere. I missed the female voice in the later missions though ;-) Flying (or let's say landing) in the arctic was a bit of a challenge in 2D because it's hard to see the ground. You have to rely on your instruments a lot. The sling loads to the oil platforms were fun, but there were 2 missions that were almost the same. Also, I think there was some lost potential when the artic era ends that abrupt. If you don't read the briefing carefully, you think there's something wrong that it's now back in the Caucasus again. It feels like a "hard cut". There was that "secret" area in the arctic and I thought we'll "dig deeper" into it. Briefings were good and most of the time clear (not always, see e.g. previous comment about mission 7. There was also an issue in mission 10). The "support" on this forum was always helpul so far though if something was not clear. The only thing I would have prefered is that there would e.g. be some "markers" on the F10 map, e.g. for starting base or other important spots (helpful for people who fly with the feature "map only" turned on). In mission 7, the "correct" oil rig could e.g. have been marked this way. So yes, this campaign was a "indemnification" for Memory of a Hero to me and I may get "Part 2" of crew campaign (I simply assume there will be a part two because this one is labeled Part 1).
  16. Thank you for the video. That look almost easy. My problem indeed was that I already flew nap on earth.
  17. Thank you for the explanation. This means you flew higher than nap on earth to make sure you're able to lose a lot of altitude? What's your starting altitude? I thought you also had to fly this nap on earth which probably was my mistake. Therefore I had no possibility to drop the collective. I'll retry whithin a couple of days.
  18. I successfully passed the first two tasks but I was "easily" shot down on task 3. So how do you avoid being shot down? I did the 180° turn and flew toward the L-39 at low altutide and max. speed...but as mentioned, he easily hit me.
  19. If you fail the mission, I recommend to not click on "End Mission" in the debrief screen. Instead, click on Close on the left side. This way, it's like you did not fly the mission at all. Just in case for other campaigns ;-)
  20. Thank you for the explanation.
  21. Maybe I missunderstood the message or there's a bug? When I arrive at the training site, a message appears that the rockets aren't ready (or something like that) and it tells you to use the radio menu / F10. However, it only has the entries to finish training 1 and training2. The rockets are working though. It just was confusing that it tells you to access the F10 when you arrive at the training site.
  22. Yes, you can simply chose "close" instead of "End Mission" in the debrief. Then it's like you did not fly the mission.
  23. just as a side note...it's the same with mission 8 and 9 (maybe also the others, but I didn't fly 10-14 yet)
  24. I just successfully completed mission 8 and it worked fine for me. I get some russian voice directions as normal - I also don't speak russian but I know that something that sounds like "vledo" is left and "brava" is right. I only heard something like "gros visibly" though and I had no clew what he meant ;-) What might help (that's what I always do). Have a key assigned to look out of your left window. It's still a bit tricky in 2D because it's hard to estimate the distance to the ground, especially on the oil platform. Anyway, since you passed the mission, it probably won't matter anymore. I also had a bit problems witht he auto unhook even though I set it, but it worked after a while. If not, use the emergency release. Just in case somebody else is not sure which oil rig: During your approach, they say the oil rig with the two towers.
  25. In mission 7, the map settings are forced to "everything visible" (including own aircraft). Is this intentional? It always makes navigation obsolete if you see yourself on the F10 map. Furthermore, there's a small typing mistake in the briefing. It says "is land" but in the context of the briefing, it seems that it should be "island".
